I find it much easier to build the bridge on the bottom end of the needed length of the zipper, across both coil edges, then just cut off the extra. The top edge of the zipper still has the factory finished end intact.
Thank you, this is a way, I usually cut the zipper at the begin (the other end of where you cut it) (above the stop) and zigzag there so you create a stop.

I found this so helpful as I have a dress I want to take some mesh off the top of which means the zipper will stop at a lower part and saves me replacing the whole zipper. All other methods have been from the bottom.
