*ANDY PARTRIDGE* : I did a song called "I Wonder Why The Wonderfalls" for Wonderfalls, the Fox TV drama. The buggers sped it up because it was a second too long. It drove me nuts when I heard it.
I'm glad we have this youtube version which allows us to hear the song as it was meant to be. Anyway, you are not the only artist who comes away from being affected by network executive's decisions wondering why the wonder only falls on them. It doesn't. It falls on all who have to deal with them.
The punishment for being honest. Until the end will you fight, and thank you. We are out there, the ones that love you and you changed our lives and we love you. Never forget us and we never forget you when you are gone, hopefully in no hurry. Love Fuzzy Warbles. Yes, the scum will be scum as they are, but many love you and wish for more. Do what you can. I know life is rough as you get older. I am fighting to continue to play bass. I have my own issues, however you keep up what you are able. Yeah, they are rough. Andy you are my favorite. If I ever get into money I would pay well to have a tour of Swinton. Music hero obviously. Been a more than a bit bitter, but not one can blame you. You have always been true to music over money and never sold out. Maybe not the masses, but my friends and I since the 80's have never lost faith in you. I bought all your albums including the Fuzzy Warbles, We do know and appreciate your intellect. Don't die! Enjoy the rest of life! I have a rescued parrot and he is difficult but he can never go back to Africa and I live to make him have the best life I can. I understand you ears and yuou don't need to ever write another song. You have done more than enough to keep us motivated for the future. You succeeded, You have passed the patoon.
Andy, I have a lot of faith in you. Just a suggestion but you should do tours of Swindon like you did a video long ago. I would pay for that, in fact I would pay a million American dollars if I had it to spend a day with you showing the world what affected your writing in your environment. You more than anything deserve the profit. Best is, it is real and fairly earned. Rare today. Consider it. I feel good as I earn no profit and never would,, but it would be profit from your music that you than I can add to and deserve. Consider.

I read a review for this show but it disappeared so quickly. A few years later I found the boxset and binge watched it on my day off a became a huge fan ever since. Like Freaks And Geeks and Firefly it should have been on tv much longer
Like an overarching.. arch, all of Fuller's TV-series, also the more recent Hannibal and most recent American Gods should be implicitly understood to happen in the same Fullerian universe. Funny thing, if you look closely at every series he ever wrote, there are not only crossovers but Fuller also takes things, wether they be perspectives, techniques or visual and narrative motifs from his earlier series and uses them in the next (like the dreamy sequences taken from Hannibal are used very liberally in American Gods but there are many, many more.)
The show was too quirky for a mainstream US show at the time. It'd probably get a far better crack if had been made now. Well worth tracking down the DVD set. The theme tune is also barking, Mr Partridge at his eclectic best.
Frankly, if anyone should accept "quirky" with open arms, it should be Americans. I think it's more of a case of Americans not getting ANYTHING outside the realm of Disney, pickup trucks, pop country, beer, and crime documentaries. I have lived here for 65 years, and I still don't feel at home... why is that, do you suppose? "I wonder why"...
Among so many amazing things in the show, some lines are exquisite: "No, it's not an issue; it's a full subscription!" "I'm not closed, I'm open; open for business." "Oh no, I need a bigger Peter."
This show (which I have never seen) from the clips reminds me of another show from Canada called Being Erica. The male actor with the fireworks in his eye in the clip was in Being Erica.
Great theme song for a T.V a show, or greatest theme song for a T.V show? I was shocked when I found out that she plays Dr. Ilana Bloom in 'Hannibal.' And that Andy Partridge from XTC wrote and preformed this.

Terrifying this is.....Wonderfalls exists in the same universe as Hannibal. Gretchen Speck-Horowitz was in WF's 'Pink Flamingos' and in Hannibal's Amuse-Bouche. Same character, same actress.
Actually been to Niagara Falls (mostly NY) - the state park itself is nice, the rest of Niagara Falls NY is a dump, I remember the walk from Rainbow Bridge to the bus/rail stations in Niagara Falls ON being a drag (especially with luggage, I was going to Toronto).
Shows that aren't dumbed down get canceled. The CEO's of the 6 companies ,who control most of the media, think people can't appreciate anything that isn't the same old, same old or ,God forbid, makes you think or feel something outside their predictable narrative. I loved Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me, Pushing Daises, and Community-which lasted 6 seasons ,but, had it's problems with a rather lame 4th season, finding it hard to recover the same level of quality afterwards. The fact that cast members were leaving one by one didn't help though.
Bryan Fuller. He has the worst luck when it comes to TV. :( creates amazing shows and it never last long. Hannibal was the only show he created (or in that case developed for) that lasted 3 seasons.
