You guys are adorable! I have to say this...I don't get it, but, for me, you never have to apologize. I understand that it's not your choice to tic. I like you as you. Your tourettes is part of you, so you don't have to apologize for being you.
I agree! I do apologize sometimes if I'm yelling or doing something else someone might be scared, but I never apologize for being me and neither should you❤️
I have to laugh because my husband and I met kinda a similar way! Not on a Tourette’s awareness discord or something, but in an among us group chat 🤣 you guys remind me of how we were when we met. I know y’all are gonna have a long future of happiness together ❤️
Quick answer about the "y'all" it's a word coined by Southern Americans and it stands for "you all" We use it to group any number of people or groups. We don't want to think too much when talking sometimes so everyone can be y'all. Bonus that it is inclusive! I hope y'all understand this 💛
My long distance bf in Sweden and I both have Autism, it has definitely made us very comfortable and understanding of each other. Sadly it's been many years off and on, but we haven't met yet. You guys are super cute together! I am so happy for you two 😀
some tics can be embarassing in front of fam, lol. About thoughts that pop into my mind. I have a tic where I sometimes yell thoughts or what I am reading. OMG... Sometimes I have to stop certain thoughts in public, around family... Knowing certain words or topics may trigger them, lol, I sometells am like "NOOOOO STOP! You stop that topic right now, this is a family event, I cannot stop my tics!, lmao... UGH
Omg you guys are so adorable. Thanks for bringing awareness. I love tik tok and normalizing Tourette’s. I’m fascinated with people with Tourette’s. I support you guys.
You’re so right about being more cognizant of body awareness/where you are due to either hitting things or some other type of tic. I find this very true, and a great point that you bring up.
I hope you two continue to grow together and wish you all the success! It’s awesome you’ve found someone so supportive and understanding as that’s important in any relationship, but especially when you have something like Tourette’s. My husband had MS and it takes a lot of patience, love and understanding on my end. I’m glad you both have one another.
My wife and I met online when IRC was the only chatroom. I lived in Louisiana and she lives in Washington state. I moved north. We celebrated 27 years in May. Online relationships count.
I have no idea why but for some reason you guys saying that I'm not alone and reminding me that isolating can harm more than help seriously hit me hard. Like, I've heard the words you're not alone so many times, but hearing it from people who also have tourettes... idk, it actually hit home, sometimes it can be hard to remember things like this, thank you
I’m not diagnosed yet, but I’m starting that path. But what you guys were saying about how you deal with it mentally hit home so hard. I’m 41 and I’ve suffered from these tics my whole life, not knowing what they were or how to deal with them. My tics are more mild than yours, but everything you describe is…so so true to my situation. Wondering if I’m crazy, if I’m somehow faking it, even though I swear to myself I’m not. Because the thought very quickly pops into my head and then I suddenly feel the burning/twitching in my muscles and I can’t stop it. I can suppress but the build up of pressure is extreme and it ends up being an even bigger tic. When I’m having a bad attack I feel like I am little crawling out of my skin. It’s so disruptive and embarrassing because I see people staring and wondering wtf, and this has been my whole life. If I’m stressed it’s so much worse. Seeing other people tic triggers me bad too and I often wondered why, not knowing anything about Tourette’s or suspecting it since I never cuss or speak words (though I do clear my throat all the time and sometimes grunt). The more I watch your channel the more I realize that this almost has to be it, because it’s everything I’ve experienced. I’m so tired of it and thinking I’ve lost my mind. That’s why I want to get diagnosed. It feels like maybe it will validate me, that I’m not insane, that I’m not mentally or that it’s not just a ‘habit’. Thank you so much for this channel and your information, and this video in particular
It's weird I've had tics for like 4 years but I've had really strong meds this year to where I barely tic as much but my boyfriend isn't used to it mostly because he barely seen it but I'm glad he is around and knows that I have tourettes and and is fine with most my tics except for being hit randomly and the screaming because I'm louder then I think but yeah I'm glad he's there and also helping with the othe problems I have and I'm glad you two are so happy
The part where you were trying to figure out how long you’ve been together is so relatable 😂 my ldbf and I are the same way, we started talking to each other and basically got together at the same time, so it’s like 🤷🏼♀️ meh
weird question, I noticed that Will has a tic where he pulls back his arm like a he is going to punch someone. Has that tic ever caused any awkward situations with other people where they think he actually wants to fight?
@@denigrissilva861 she said in the beginning that being together calms their tics because they are relaxed around each other. she has many videos where she explains that stress can cause tics to be more prominent.
Thank you for your video. My son is 18 and has very minor tics. No medication. I’m trying to see where he can start talking to a nice young lady his age. Any advice? Thank you.
Hi again. Literally just commented on another video of yours. Your advice on feeling alone in 'any situation you're on your own' - to paraphrase - and to 'not isolate' was very helpful. I don't have Tourettes, or anything, but have been living in Shanghai for a year, coming from the UK. Embarrassingly I've found myself randomly crying in front of my mates here, and I genuinely DID think 'am I just being dramatic? Am I secretly looking for attention?' But no! You can't fake tears (unless you're an actor, and then you need to have some tricks). So that massively cheered me up, in itself. It's a really interesting point you brought up which I've always been scared to ask, and no other person has just come out with it! Thank you! PS - Z = 'zed' because, sorry, it's just correct
Hi Will! Ok, you guys are too cute. I love how supportive of each other you are. And obviously the ability to understand what’s going on. I recently come across your channel and I’ve enjoyed your videos. I do find them very educational. 💜🙏🏻
I got it wrong who you had with you, I guessed Will your fiancé (I know he'll always be your boyfriend no matter what other status, and more importantly your best friend). You can see you share a sense of humour which is incredibly important in any relationship, but especially so where there are disabilities. You get to throw PC out of the window and appreciate the real person. That doesn’t mean throw respect out of the window, but some days you need to laugh or you really would cry.
You guys are such an adorable couple! I have an autistic who has a mild form of Tourette’s. He also meow’s, & has a punching or biting tick. If you have any advice for parents of a child with Tourette’s I would genuinely appreciate & value any help you could offer!
My most important advice to help your child realize that their tics aren’t their fault, and that you will love them unconditionally despite their tics ❤️ Tics don’t define us, but sometimes having our parents there to remind us of that can make all the difference 💜
First of all, thank you both for such a sweet video. You’re truly a lovely couple! 💕💖 Second of all, if you don‘t mind too much: Where in CA does Will live? I was raised in Chula Vista, just south of San Diego, cent to college in the Napa Valley area (Wine Country! 🍷🥂🎉❩, spent my post-collegiate years in San Francisco, and now, of course, I’ve spent the past 2t years of my life in Japan! 🎌🗾⛩️🍣🍵🎉💖 Also, my best friend lives in . . . . I think he still lives in Glendale, Los Angeles. If the spirit moves you (and if you actually get this), please let me know! Thank you kindly in advance, and greetings from Japan! 🇯🇵

I have that tic too. But that one usually was "originally me trying to bang on something with my arm/hand" but I do that instead😔💅
