      @@XxBanDonxXyes famously a German fighter tailed and followed a badly damaged British bomber across the English Channel, the pilot was shot through the jaw, his rear and gunners shot to pieces and hanging out of the plane, it was riddled with bullet holes and missing part of the tail section. The German fighter refused to deliver a kill shot and made sure they got home to Britain. He and the British pilot 100% had an interation that day. British pilot even says they made direct eye contact and German fighter flew along side his cock pit numerous times, tipped his wings and left them.

      when a third party (like another plane) is viewing both you and the enemy on radar and you get close enough the radar signature merges into one. This server is specifically to dogfight and the rule keeps the fight fair. hope that explains it!

    When you see a guy pull a move like this, you need to go in tight as if to ram. Swinging wide avoids the collision, but sets you up for a very slow relative pass due the the angles, plus defender need only relax a bit to pick up a solution. If you go in tight and manage to avoid the collision, you'll overshoot to his _inside_ of the turn, stalling, losing speed, it will be a lot harder for him to turn _tighter_ to get that same solution. There is that moment that you will pass right in front of him, but it is nanosecond timing, compared to the wide pass. It's not much, but should be enough to let you bust a move out of there before he gets guns to bear.

    How can you look like 140° back when your head only looks back like 100°? Ist there a curve option?

    • @lolturlte
      @lolturlte  Год назад +16

      There is for IR based head tracking where you are not wearing a VR headset. The camera interprets the movement of the IR reflectors/LEDs and you can set a curve to be really minute movements or 1:1 for the first half of movement, but in order to look behind you, you cant actually look away from your screen so you can set it to look 180° when you face 80° to the side. For VR like what i am using in the video, there is no curve option because it would be very disorienting. In order to look back i have to actually hold onto my chair and turn around completely and also fly like that. You can imagine how disorienting it is to look backwards while pulling up and rolling periodically with both my feet (the f-14 will roll with yaw due to its aerodynamics and simpler “fly by wire”) and the stick, but things like that get surprisingly easy to do without the use of dramamine over many hours!
