- No, seriously. Krazy Ken is really asking. Is ProPods Max a scam? This AirPods Max knock-off is like a ghost, and this is certainly one of the more twisty scam-busting investigations he's dug into.

Been waiting
This episode seems to be amazing! The teasers of this video were making me excited to see the hot mess it will be
I mean hor
What if they ship you a store-bought unit and keep everyone else's money,
Looking forward to it Ken!
"One thing I love to do on this channel is get disappointed."
Wait, you mean I could've been doing it on RUclips this whole time?
Why Yes my friend...
I absolutely love how they put your tweet on their website when it literally says they're a knock-off product
Holy shit you're right. I just looked at their website where you buy it and they show the Tweet which says, and I quote: "Whoopsie! I just bought an AirPods Max knock-off! 🤷♂️ Stay tuned for another episode! We'll see how well these things work. x_x"
Maybe they don’t know eengritch
@@askhowiknow5527 or maybe that's what they wanted? Like he is not saying that they're bad he just said that he bought them and that they look like AirPods Max, a lot of people could buy them just because they can brag about having the Original, like my father has a Cell phone Store where he sells the real products and the knock-off version and the ones that get the most sales are the Fakes AirPods, Fake Freebuds and the Fake AKGs (they literally ask "How much for the Fake AirPods? " Or "How much for the Knock-off AirPods? ")
Lmao so true, how come they did that? XD
@@Aarid-fg8oq because knockoff product is a step up from what they actually are. Non-existent scam product
I lost it at the "5-7 *Earth* business days" comment, honestly
@Lassi Kinnunen 81 it turns out they were 95% done on the structure.
@Lassi Kinnunen 81 no no no, you see they were 95% done on the factory where they produce the ProPods™️
@Lassi Kinnunen 81 They're too busy paying for good reputat- I mean doing very normal not sketchy things a very trustworthy brand would do
Yeah, the UnboxTherapy team will sell their opinion to anyone who gives them money lol
agreed
and make public videos basically on their knees begging Apple to ship them review products for free.
Did you see the review they did on the Pablo Escobar phone? When other RUclipsrs like Marques Brownlee
were saying this was a straight-up scam and unpeeled the gold sticker to show it was a galaxy fold they were like ya this is legit. Never watched any of their "reviews" again after that.
Unboxtherapy also bought a truckload full of empty iPhone boxes, staging a fake give away.
They were also drop shipping rip-off iPhone cases from Alibaba, claiming they had developed this product themselves, while deleting their own reviews of the originals.
In other words, they are demonstrable scammers.
Agreed
If I was a scammer, I would buy real set of AirPods Max, replace all branding/logos with my own and send it in. Boom, 5 star review on RUclips.
That’s what the Escobar phones did. And of course the reviewers knew immediately and no customers ever received anything.
buy it at apple store only and they are 100% real and shipping do takes time to have it to your home ok
@@GHSTSTRSCRM mr boss the who lmao
The undercover operation will be: Going to the Apple Genius Bar and asking them about the knock-off ; just to check if it is actually a non-detectable copy.
maaaaaaaybe
Oh man, they sound kinda creepy by posting EVERYTHING about your purchase.
It really seems like they were attempting a roundabout, non-legally binding way of claiming it was an endorsement by him. Sorta like how boxes of bad movies would heavily doctor snippets of unfavorable reviews in an attempt to make them look like positive ones.
@@NorthStarBlue1 I know. Kinda creepy
I’m never disappointed when you post
I wouldn't be surprised if Lou DID get the product, he's not above doing that. Hell, for all we know Lou could be behind this whole operation.
Yes. Like the escobar scam
I think it's important to emphasize that not every copycat product out there is a scam. Competition drives the free market. That said: This most certainly smells of scam, but I look forward to any review you have of the PodsPro, that should be fun.
Ken mentions this in other videos as well. He has no problem with knock-off products, as they fill a gap in the market and people are willing to pay less for a product of similar function but lesser quality. It’s only when the products oversell themselves, advertise features that they don’t have, and blatantly lie to consumers through fake reviews and whatnot, does he label them as scams. If a knock-off product sells itself as such and doesn’t use deceptive tactics, it’s not a scam as the consumer understands what they’re buying.
I guarantee they've bought the apple ones and have spent the past nine weeks trying to figure out how to pass them off as their own just to finally shut Ken up.
Yass😂
I’m getting an Escobar Fold2 vibe here, another BS company taking money and promising the Earth but delivering nothing but a book
Escobaring it.
They can't even deliver Venus in blue jeans...
How to heal your battery without the Mulit-Charger: Kiss it, stroke it, and tell it everything's gonna be alright and sorry for yeeting you.
Man, did the same thing with my 360 controller. Love em to death, but sometime, the wall love em more.
Okay... so ya typed 'Mulit' instead of Multi and now I can only imagine a charger with a mullet XD
@@Ametisti it takes a real G to leave it unedited
I suspect they might have followed you on twitter and publish your ticket as a way to promote themselves, like "Hey, everyone, look, this famous youtuber bought our product, he exposes scams, so you can trust we aren't, we are even twitter friends!"
I defenetly think so aswell
I would be very nettled if I knew that people I didn’t know were broadcasting a tweet of mine.
Love the jokes! Your voice is smooth and not monotone like others! It’s amazing how good your channel is! Love the content!
When you release another video in a series, you should consider editing / updating description on the older video to point to the new one. Great content, spent my whole morning watching you 👍
Ken, I absolutely LOVE your videos!!! You’re the best consumer product advocate I’ve seen since the late 1970’s and early 1980’s when David Horowitz used to run a very similar show on TV. Please keep making more videos. You are REALLY helping the lone consumer in a day and age where it has never been more needed! You’re a true American hero!
Exactly how many scam products have you purchased that never turned up? It would be interesting to know the ratio of actual knock off products arrived vs scam products that didn't.
2ed video, gonna watch a few, thank you for what you do from pointing out red flags to going over what you do get. Great for warning older people as well as deciding if you want the knock off or if it is a waste of time/money.
I almost bought some noise cancelling headphones from Bose but thought $300 was a little much but they would work and not take 6 months to get them to me. I have a Wave Radio and am MORE than pleased with it. I got it on 02 or 03 and it's as good as new to this day. Thanks for this and Blessings!
Hey Ken, whilst I’m sure podspro is a scam, but Apple charge a hell of a markup, so if someone was making a run of knock off AirPods Max, [sometimes even made in the same factory], they would be cheaper.
And that someone would have been eaten alive by Apple's legal department.
They couldn't steal enough finished devices out of whichever factory is producing the headphones for Apple.
That one dislike is probably from the company itself. :-D
0:36 THAT SHOT THO
Thanks ; )
to be fair, there are a lot of $200 headphones sound much better than AirPods Max. While wireless headphones are still struggling to be listenable, wired headphones have advanced a lot in the last five years.
Have to admit, I miss your crazy tech episodes with older tech.
I have a set of $8 knock off air pods that I bought from 5 below. I like them. My husband has actual air pods and I dont need all of the bells and whistles. I just need something to pop in to listen to music while doing chores. Otherwise I dont use them for anything else. So I like them
Why not get something from someone else? These knockoffs COULD have toxic stuff in the paint. You never know where they were made...
You still should have better music quality though. Owning a knock off airpods is like owning a 12-inch tv; sure, you may technically get the same experience, but it’s certainly worth an upgrade.
Fun fact, if you search up their address it takes you to the real life location for Lester's money laundering business from GTA V. These guys have a sense of humor.
Hey @ComputerClan, I love your content!
Please do more live streams, they are amazing.
Also, you said PodsPro in the video but the title says ProPods.
Please rewatch the episode ; ) PODSPRO is the name of the company. ProPods Max is the name of the product. I know it's a dumb naming convention. x_x
@@ComputerClan oh, that shit is confusing
The "Scammer's code of conduct and shenanigans" states that products that don't actually exist are allowed to use as dumb of a naming convention as necessary for the purposes of complete bamboozling of the customer.
Always love the intro
I'm a fan/enjoyer, when I see Ken I click.
That pear logo tho, classic
It's because they sell "pears" of headphones. HAR-HAR!
Hi Ken, I stumbled on to your RUclips channel. You are a awesome!!
I've seen quite a lot of videos claiming to have fake AirPods Max and showing real videos of the AirPods Max instead, Terrible.
They're using you for audience confidence.
If they're embracing a tech debunking channel buying their trash it gives an image of legitimacy. By giving you a refund they're implying that other people could get said refund as well, making them more likely to take the risk
You are doing a great service! Keep up the good work!
They really aren’t going to bring the pods pro’s out with you saying you got tricks up your sleeve😂😂
Anything with Bluetooth or other radio transmission would also need to have an FCC certificate before sale, which would be public.
These would go great with my ProPad and ProBook 😂
9:30, well you just read my mind, I was just about to ask you that question in the comments section, good to know that you are finally doing a new podcast
Finally someone who buys the product instead of just looking over the ad
The journey is the reward.
Totally
0:08 Now that's a trailer!
I think they will shipping out the real airpot max to youtuber, and when other people want to buy it, they will shipping them with cheap fake one or shipping nothing out like some scam company. And when you email them they will just block you. I still waiting for them to shipping my phone that I ordered year ago lol
Fun fact, first cheapo AirPods Max clones are out. However the normal ones with ANC etc. are still in prototype.
Fun fact: I am the designer of Eojin's avatar xD
Its been 3 months and im still waiting for the delivery of part 2.. Beginning to think this is some sort scam!
;)
Yeah. That charger ad just posses me off and an actual review would be nice.
How did you get the headphones to float in the air like that?
I don't get how that ball socket swivel thing is meant to stay not completely loose and useless, even on the legit ones
What's the sound signature and how does it sound?
Honestly all scammers need to do at this point is a send you an email about a knockoff product and you buy it.
"Adolfo H."? Seriously? This should be the BIGGEST red flag somehow :x
"Please finish your scam so I can finish debunking you"
0:36 how did you get them to float, whats holding them up?
New to your channel & love the reviews 👍.
I like this series of scam knock off type products
Me too
The fact that they had a squeaky clean 5 stars despite some (or many, idk) reviews being negative definitely screams sus as well lol
Great ep - whats the outro music called fella?
This wouldn't be the first time Unbox Therapy reviewed a scam product. So I'd believe them if they said they were talking to him.
This seems to be quite common, advertise something that's a knockoff, get orders, then they place a bulk order for it on Alibaba. 3-6 months later, you have an overpriced cheap knockoff. Thing is there are plenty of good headphones by other importers and rebranders on places like amazon that work really well, for much less.
Knowing that the margin from the AirPods Max is about 75-80% like other Apple products, I guess you can do something for 99$ with a fewer margin and lowering quality, I mean ...
I just bought a pair of Bluetooth headphones from Walmart. About $15 bucks, good sound (?) and about 10 hours run time. Why would I eant to spend a $100 on knock off pods?
Another great video Ken. :)
The multivoltz charger has a bit of some shady stuff i found they say its secured by norton and mcsafe?
I ordered the OmniPodVoltScope™ that works like AirPods and charges your iPhone while you zoom in on objects 10 miles away. Sure hope it’s not a scam.
Hi! I just saw an ad on RUclips and its this bracelet called fly blocker and the ad didn’t match up. At one part of the ad it says that the people worked at a chemical company and they talked a lot about chemicals. Then later they said it had no chemicals? That doesn’t make sense they talked about chemicals and there are no chemicals in it what? It also had the google translate voice and stock photos. The ad also had the same format as many other scams. The format is two guys worked at a company and the company hides a dirty secret. Then these two guys think of a revolutinary product. Then they explain the product. I. think this product is very fishy if you have the time I recommend checking it out.
P.S love ur vids.
Honestly, Unbox Therapy seems reckless with the way he promotes products like that golden Samsung Fold
The fact their logo is a Pear tells you all you need to know!!
I very much appreciate your videos. Is there no policing of these obviously misleading, if not fraudulent, advertising.?
The only thing I would challenge you on is saying that they couldn’t produce a product for £99 when the iPods cost so much more, I would simply say that apple make such massive profits so anybody producing reasonable copies who were not as greedy could easily undercut their prices. Carry on Ken, really appreciate your vlogs.
i know the problem with the timing of them getting these to you. Venus spins in the other direction, so their days are going backwards! LOL
Cool, I like this channel 💪much love from Detroit 👍 THANX Great video
They've nailed the KickStarter experience!
Why aren't you in my feed ever! I always have to search your channel!
Just imagine they unfollowed and they delete all the things they said to you and say we’re not scams go away you’re banned!
I dont know how good (or bad) the Apple AirPods Max are, or if they're worth the price, but man do they look like two soap bars strapped to your head..... lol
Wait! Isn‘t the Logo the company ProPods uses that of the GTA 5 Apple equivalent?
I saw one of your comments on Harry101uk’s video of tier 3 soundtrack. Do you still make use of it or no?
I spent $100 on headphones and got 20 pairs. They work just fine and if I lose them, they were like $5. Win win
I can’t imagine spending as much as people do for headphones/AirPods.
The one dislike is from the company
I have bought from Aliexpress a exact copy (without the logo) of airpods pro, sound same and have all of the functions.
The company is watching you...
Seems sus
I think the negative reviews were still 5 stars because that's the only way it could get posted. Like how RUclips removed dislikes and people are now commenting their disliking of the video.
They took some notes straight from Dune Case Pro lol.
Well you said they refunded you the money so you will not get this product. Thanks for the heads up product. I now only order from Amazon , Groupon, or Wish.
"its not a scam, we are getting this guy known for promoting scams and stealing intellectual property to review it"
You’re an engineer Harry
they already sellin here in SZ electronic market, exact replica, costing as low as $80
I do believe that good apple equivalent headphones at cheaper pricing can be achievable, just not from companies like this. Apple products are overpriced, no ifs ands or buts about that. They are the Gucci or Fendi equivalent of tech. Better headphones exist for cheaper in better quality, at half the price in real life. If you'd like an example watch DankPods's video on his own pair. DankPods is a big Apple fan who had quality issues with multiple Airpods Pros. He also has very good recommendations for genuine audiophiles who want good quality headphones. The differences would mainly be in the style of the headphones, they won't look like Airpods but they will function without cleaning out your wallets and dealing with bad quality control. If you want quality at proper pricing, please focus on companies that are dedicated to making headphones or audio related products.
If you like Apple that is fine, but due to their popularity, don't expect any Apple rip off to ever work out. It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
At 0:58 - whre can I get those mini blowdriers?
I remember I had a friend who would just always push towards me that “ProPods” were great and that he was the smart one. Yeah, no. I’m not interested in knockoff Apple products…
We your viewers love you for imforming us of scams
Found two funny things on their website. First, their address is a multi-use warehouse near skid row (sketchy at best). Second they claim their workers took off during Chinese New Year, but factories will ramp up production before CNY to cover the missed time off. It's a very common practice in China so that they don't miss out on production quotas.
To be fair, even large legitimate companies tend to use Chinese New Year as a scapegoat for supply shortages, both real and artificial. The warehouse address is definitely a red flag though, that tends to have the stink of a fly-by-night operation on it.
@@NorthStarBlue1 They blame factories for shortages that don't exist. Every factory in the PRC will run double shifts for the 2-3 weeks before CNY to cover the time off so there isn't a need for blaming.
@@CanMav Yeah, but the vast majority of the world doesn't know or care, so companies can easily use it for their own means. "Oh sorry, all the production in China shut down for a couple weeks so all our stock has 'run out'. Perhaps you'd like to place a pre-order to boost our end of quarter profit numbers... I mean to make sure you get one as soon as possible?"
It's basically just another convenient way to exploit the fear of missing out on something that's being presented as limited, when it really isn't.
Thanks, you're an eye opener
The multivoltz is 100% just a rebranded generic fast charger LOL. I have a handful of the unbranded ones around from a project I'd worked on
lol, working with unbox therapy, so scammers working with scammers.
Claiming they can do what Apple can do at much less cost isn't wizardry. That would just be industry standard.
Purchasing a blatantly fake product from a business who has zero Twitter followers and steals ad videos from the company they're trying to emulate, and then making a video merely hinting at the possibility that it's a scam and repeatedly giving the benefit of the doubt regarding the multitude of suspicious red flags it raised was just an utter waste of time
It’s not the ProPods Max, it’s the ScamPods Max.
