The percussion always screws around... it's just how they roll, it's in their blood, apparently. And then, we get stuff like this video. Or, in my experience, yelled at a lot for the percussion screwing around... sometimes, it works out for the best.
@@embrezar LOL yeah! I am a bass drum player and i have gotten the saxophones infront of the bass section in trouble multiple times for making noise. IDK my band teacher got mad at the sax players for making bass drum sounds, but i wasn't gonna complain XD

Hello everyone, On behalf of my fellow percussionists, we appreciate all the support that this video's received. We never expected it to get over 100k views, but here we are. To answer a few common questions that I've seen: The song is Offenbach vs Liszt (arranged by Chris Brooks). The song goes between the Can Can, and Hungarian Rhapsody #2. The boomwhackers are hitting 2x8 pieces of wood, with tops of carpeting. We had someone make them specifically for the piece. Thanks again for all the support, Scott (5th from the right, the one with the newspaper)
@ProFriend this group was our high school percussion section at the annual Drummin’ with the Monkey show at Waukee High School. This show was a one-off (only performed at two shows the same day), but the actual Drummin’ with the Monkey was an annual show from roughly 2000-2016. It ended after my senior year when our percussion instructor stepped down from his position and his replacements opted to not continue the shows.
@ProfessorPeterMSchiekele (sp?) looks like something that #PDQBach would approve of, if not have instigated if he had access to these boomwhackers back in the day.
We often use BOOMWHACKERS during The Dementia music -therapy sessions at which I volunteer. They sometimes ‘confuse ‘ our participants, who occasionally think they have to BLOW down the tubes, but what ever we do, everyone has lots of fun with them. But this group has taken boomwhacker-playing to a different level! These guys are all superb musicians and much praise must go to the arranger of this piece. The comedic element they display, is superb, too. What a truly positive and uplifting video this is!! Barbara Van Doren , LONDON.
I have sat here for about five minutes trying to think of the words to convey how content I feel after watching this video. It was simply... exquisite.
A mix of Offenbach's Can-Can and Franz Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody. Really wonderful production! Shame on the 292 people who gave this a thumbs-down! I guess they just don't appreciate classical music and hard work... as of 17 May 2019.
I don't know why this popped up in my feed 6 years later, but I was really hoping for a key change where they all had to swap out their boomwhackers at the same time. That would have been a really nice bit of choreography!
I'm so hooked on this stuff! I would love to see how they train to sequence and think. The precision is delightful. Wonderful work! Take those lessons with you.
Beyond brilliant was so well thought out an with such a good sense of humor, theater, worthy of Monty Python brought a whole new edge to a classic , Lord only knows how much they had to practice , If the people of this planet would take more time on creative works such as this I think no one would ever go without, just the shear concept.
I feel for the two in the middle who only had like eight notes each in the entire piece. It’s hard to be the ones to have those kind of parts, for a lot of reasons, but these guys were amazing. xD
Fab stuff. Weirdly wonderful music gift to have. It does make me wonder what I've just watched in these last few minutes though, but definitely a different inspirational take on the classical wonder. I truly love the one with the green in the middle, they have the fun job of making the last note time in very well indeed. Kudos for making the last five minutes of watching this all the more enjoyable!
I have no idea how I found this. It is wonderful. I started by looking for the United States Marine Corps Band. My wife and I joke that every time we start looking at RUclips, we keep clicking links and in just a few minutes we are watching Morris Dancing.
If the 3 stopped ever did music this would have been it. I love watching yall. You do great songs and have fun doing and y'all make me laugh. Thanks and keep up the great job

When the music teacher has a box of these when you walk in, you know it’s gonna be a good day
Sadly we just had a box of recorders
We always had these out, yet we barely used them.
This. And Lincoln Logs...
I love that they were all having fun doing it, I guess if your instrument is boomwhackers you can’t take you’re self too seriously
Any time your boomwhaking your taking it seriously 🤣

your comment is old at this point, but i have to say this: It also keeps you focused on not just the music, but their antics...
I really like to imagine this was out of left field in the middle of a different performance and at first the audience was all, "Dafuq?"
You're definitely not wrong, it caught a lot of people off-guard
