This video really touched my heart. Dr. Gabor Maté’s message about the connection between pain and truth is so powerful. It made me reflect on how often we avoid confronting our true emotions and how that can affect our well-being. The part about spiritual bypassing was such an eye-opener! Let’s start a conversation: What’s one truth you’ve discovered about yourself that changed everything? #HealingJourney, #TruthAndHealing, #SelfDiscovery, #EmotionalHealing, #GaborMaté

Dr Gabor ! How do you keep such a wonderful composure about yourself ?! I admire you so much! Remember, taking things one step at a time and being kind to yourself can make a big difference. Therapy can be a great tool for finding clarity and reducing stress-it’s all part of the journey. Mental illness is not an absolute, like a broken leg or other physical problem. Mental "illness" is relative to the context in which it occurs. What used to be "wise men", for instance , would now probably be thought to be mentally ill. A soldier who shoots 100 of the enemy would be a hero in one context and a mass murderer in another. The concept of mental illness is totally wrong . Our mental functioning and what we present to the outside world, cannot be labelled as an "illness" but rather as not appropriate to the context and frightening to others as it can challenge their view of what is " normal" and acceptable.
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughtful perspective. You make an important point about how mental health can be influenced by context and society's definitions of 'normal.' It's a important topic, and I appreciate you taking the time to reflect on it. Conversations like these help us all understand mental health better, with more empathy and less judgment. Thank you for your wonderful insight! bless you
"Mental illness" is just a term. I 'absolutely ' agree to what you say. What's the standard for health ? Shooting a 100 people is not healthy and sane under no circumstances though: the state of human kind in respect to conflict is unhealthy or at least immature. The inquiry into it and openness to live with it or do away with it would be the sane approach whether it's disease or immaturity. (If we say it's natural, then all ending of conflict in ourselves becomes as pointless. )
Although this is an unpopular comment to make, dear Garbor is on another bilnd ally. There us a plague of unhealed healers like this lovely but unhealed man and their unhealed state is their blindness. He doesnt really understand trauma or how to heal it but only gives reasons to not feel bad about your trauma. But in the end no healing of the traumatised person occurs. Sad but true. I think that Traumatised persons find him relatable and unthreatening because he too is still a mess. But you need someone who is not a mess to guide your healing. Otherwise its the blind leading the blind. Sorry to have to point thos out. But you are better off alone and hopeless than dependent on another fir false hope. Theres no way out of that. At least when your alone and given up hope, something can occur of its own volition and i just know thats the only way it hapens. You cant use thought to heal, you have to go beneath that and feel the sensations of hiw you are in there and let the body take it from there. Nice guy but another fraud.
We are using the terms" healed" and " unhealed" , as though we all know what they mean. I dint know if I'm unhealed or healed, I'm just myself with all the complexity that 90 billion brain cells brings plus the experiences that shape who I am and how and what i think.
@ hi Thomas By healed i mean the effects of the trauma is resolved. By unhealed i mean the person is still redtricted by and harbouring harm from the trauma. I am not using these words as mere empty meaningless sounds. For example a person who has suffered childhood sexual abuse will feel terror, discussed, resistance etc in association with the stimulation from normal healthy sex now. Until and unless thise feelings have been fully resolve, healed, purged from where they are remembered in theirbody, allowing enjoyment of sexualfeelings like a person who has not been abused, then they are not fully healed. An unhealed person will automatically be unconsciously bias against such feeling and unable to know or understand the natural or healed state. They wont know what it is. Therefore they cannot guide another through the healing and into the state before the person was harmed. I am not speeking theoretically but from helping over 30000 people reach this resolve. As i said at the begining of my post., “this what i have to say wont be popular” But every word of it is unfortuhately true
PS a healed person deffinitely knows the difference between the healed and unhealed state and can easily recognise both in others. A traumatised person, as im sure you know from your own confusion, cannot dicern a difference. Until you are healed you will only know your condition from the confusion of the danaged state. Garbor is one of those people. He just donsnt know what this means
thank you for sharing your thoughts and perspective. I understand where you’re coming from and appreciate the depth of your reflection on this topic. Healing is a deeply personal journey, and everyone connects differently to those who guide or inspire them. While some may find value in what Dr. Gabor shares, I understand that his approach may not resonate with everyone. Your point about the importance of finding someone truly grounded to support healing is very valid. Healing requires authenticity, self-awareness, and a safe space to feel and process. I also believe that our own inner work plays a key role in this journey. Thank you again for your comment. Conversations like this can help bring different perspectives to light, and I really appreciate you taking the time to express yours. bless you
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I completely understand what you mean. Healing is such a personal journey, and it’s not always easy to define. We all have our own experiences and complexities that shape us. It's important to embrace who we are and the process we're going through. I appreciate your perspective and value the conversation!
