Wayne's vocal delivery and rapping style on Carter III changed the way rappers spit today. And Kanye's album also changed the overall soundscape of future sounds of hip hop. Think about it. What we hear today is literally a mix of Wayne inspired rapping and Kanye inspired production from today's artists mixed in one. How can you truly say one outdid the other?
Lollipop was the most innovative record in Wayne career. He went from a rapper, to full on pop over night. Same with a record like Phone home. He introduced a new side of himself. Also tie my hands was possibly the most introspective mainstream album of that decade. I can agree graduation was more put together. But that doesn’t make it better especially when comparing it to a album with 5 hits not including Lollipop.

Tha Carter has aged terribly production wise, and even though Wayne's flow and rapping is very good, it's notclose to what it would've become the next 3 years or so. Tha Carter 2 is very close and I'm ok with it better than Graduation, it's respectable(the huge step on the production end is a big factor too). Tha Carter 3, on the other end, ehh, not so much. The rapping is better but there's so much more to compare: the lows are way lower on TC3 imo, and overall, feel much worse, considering Grad has 15 tracks and the bad tracks are like 3 maximum. I'm also not a big fan of Lollipop, even though that's not a low. Tha Carter 4 is arguably the worst in the series, no comparisons to make here. TC5 is good, but cmon now.
