Best photo examples I’ve seen utilizing this lens. If you can get around the wide open vignetting (I crop most of the time anyway) you can’t beat this lens for the price. It’s currently the only one I have for my xt30ii and makes for a nice compact EDC. Great review; clear and concise with just enough vibes…subscribed!
Nice review and sample images. I bought the XF 27 WR but then also purchased this TTA version. Immediately returned the XF and kept the TTA, mainly because of the XF’s noisy and inconsistent autofocus. 3rd party manufacturers are really stepping up their game lately for the Fuji lineup.
I’m really glad I’ve seen this comment after watching a few videos of comparisons it was kind of back and forth but actually reading a comment I think I’ll stick with the TTA and pick up their new 35mm af which would cost around the same price as the xx wr 27
My experience exactly, two fuji and two failures … it’s a lens that just isn’t reliable … and that’s not just me … many friends jam have had same experience down the years to. If the TT fail after a couple of years I’ll bin it and get another, I can live with its minor faults
Great video, I bought this a few weeks ago and love it, I've coupled it to my X-M1 pocket rocket and in BW its delivered some fab street images. Definite keeper. I've had two fuji 27mm pancakes and sorry fuji but both have broken with AF problems after little use. This little lens has some quirks especially useful in street pics I take and for the money is outstanding and fun.
I love all the b-roll in this video! Very dreamy, 🤩✨ I might just have to pick up this lens for my X-T3, the bokeh and film aesthetic it creates are gorgeous. Really love the images at: 0:49, 2:51, 5:22 and 8:04
The color grading reminds me of that movie, Her. That being said, with all the cons it's still crazy that this is an AF lens for $150. I like the flares but it just takes one frustrating day, right?
I like the flares too but last video I had haters saying it was a con so I just gave it to the haters. I’ll take the grading from “her” as a huge compliment!
ooo this looks really enticing! i never considered the fuji 27mm cuz i couldn’t see myself spending $400 on it but this is a great alternative! awesome video, the character of this lens looks sweeeet
picked one of these bad boys up for $140 shipped during their amazon black friday sale. couldn't be happier with it. if you don't already own the fuji 27 f2.8, this ttartisan version is an absolute no brainer in my humble opinion even at the MSRP of $159.99 + tax.
Yes I agree with your assessment. The vignetting is scary but I find the lens surprisingly sharp. For me, at F8 vignetting is acceptable giving good results on my XT5 but the change in image in the finder screen whenI half pressing the shutter release (from the lens closing from full open to F8) is quite disconcerting. The rest of the lens, especially the autofocus is outstanding.
I just have the 18-50 2.8 zoom lens for now and considering this together with the Viltrox 27 1.2 to cover the 23-35 focal range. Sure it's both the same focal length and I could also get a 23 1.4 and a 35 f2 or vice versa, but this is so much cheaper and gives me one image quality monster and one really light snapshot lens for situations where you don't want to scare people with a bigger lens. It's under €700 for both together, a single 23/33 1.4 by Fuji is more than that
It’s pretty incredible how cheap these lenses are huh? I think that’s not a bad idea if you need something discreet. I wouldn’t try comparing this with the Viltrox though because…. Well it’s just no where close. But lovely lens and the size is hard to beat. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy your lenses, happy shooting
