Haven't tried this yet, but it looks fabulous. Much better than other mock cables I've done. Thank you so much!

I'm so glad you like it. I like faux cables almost more than I like the real ones. LOL

This is such a great video. I found it from your March newsletter, with the Wrong Lever pattern info. I just purchased the pattern, it seems to be pretty easy, but since I’m not an “experienced” knitter, we shall see! I have tried cables before with an okay result but I always fumble with the cable needle. This certainly looks doable. I like to try new things just to keep it interesting. Thanks Barbara! Love your style! 😊💕

It really is easy to do - hard to explain lol. Thanks so much. I'd love to see your progress as you go. If you do social media tag me!

I like your way of doing the mock cable and you explain it very well. Can one do it on 2 needles by purling the mock cable and dropping the extra stitch?

I am going to do a bit of assuming and guess that when you say "do it on 2 needles" you mean knitting it flat as opposed to in the round. If that is indeed the question then yes, you can do this stitch while knitting flat and there are a couple of options. Either you do the double wrap while working the wrong side which would be double wrapping purls and doing the cross on the RS or you double wrap the knits and then when you get to the WS you do as you suggested and cross the stitches and then purl them. I do believe that the cables would appear to be crossed in the opposite direction tho.

I’m looking for a sock pattern that uses this stitch. I found the mock cable but not the cross stitch mock cable. Could I use this for socks just making sure to use the 6 stitches?
