- Yep, Skechers are here and have introduced their first high-end football boot ever. Don't be fooled, it's a great football boot, but will they be good enough to stand a chance? In today's review of the Skechers SKX football boots, JayMike goes over why he thinks the boots are impressively good, but also why they might have a hard time getting a foothold in the market - and also why you might find it very similar to the Nike Phantom GT football boots. Completely agree with the price issue, if they were cheaper they’d probably have more of a chance to show what they were offering but at that price point they’re really going to struggle against the more established competition even with Harry Kane in them.
plus that fucking blue colorway is obnoxious and looks cheap

I am actually a fan of the toebox shape. I hate how modern football boots give you less and less space in the toebox where it crushes your toes together in a tight fit.
Also for walking shoes MOST brands have HIGH heel pad. (They say "CUSHIONING")
which is terrible for posture and walking, becuase the way your foot lands , body weight goes towards the Toes

I completely agree with you regarding the price issue. It's not easy for a new cleats industry to compete with big brands right from the start. It takes time and effort to establish a foothold in the market. Even with Harry Kane on your side, but still we never know.
You have to start on the lower end and build from that. You can win on pure branding against Mecurial, Tiempo or Adidas X's for example

Yeah I thought they were going to be more cost effective. I mean of course Sketchers needs to make profit but $120-$150 seems more reasonable. Like he said in the video, when you get to those higher prices you're going up against the heavyweights of the football world.
I hope they change the price so more people would be intrigued to try it.

don't get fooled with promos. Unisport customer service is THE MOST UNPROFFESSIONAL online shop ever. They reply after 4 days to simple issue, blowing the whole order.

Unpopular opinion: I prefer Phantom GT over the Phantom GX. So i will be looking to try these (in black!).

I believe it is going to be one the best boots. Look at how wide the toe box. This going to give balance you rarely find in modern boots. Can’t wait to buy one and I hope they make good turf boots too

Thats how boot deals work. Players wear whatever brand is paying them the most money. Players without boot deals wear whatever they want or what their kit brand supplies (Barca supplies Nike boots, Real Madrid Adidas)

I don’t think price will be an issue. I have a feeling it won’t do so well with sales and therefore we’ll find a lot of these with the price marked down. Also y’all need to take advantage of those holiday sales!

Sketches are thinking too high about themselves, yes they make good comfortable shoes, but when it comes to Football, you'll need time and effort to keep up with the Football Brand Giants like Nike and Adidas.

This is a paradise! My favourite shoe company was skechers but as soon as i got interest in football, I slowly stopped loving it. So happy to see football boots made by skechers!

I see what you are saying, but it is less expensive than Nike, Adidas, and Mizuno. By a lot. I get what you are saying and I would not pay that, but it isn't such a crazy price. I think maybe 180 would have been good for them to enter and establish themselves in the market.

I expected this from skechers. Their first “top end” boot. They’ve made boots before but in a much much less quality tier version. Also their lifestyle shoes copy adidas and Nike quite a lot.
€225 is too much for a brand that we don’t even know in the football boots arena. Forget Nike,adidas,puma,Mizuno and NB,you got far better options from Asics,Diadora and Lotto at a far lower price
So true.....even stepping out of the usual suspects as you say you can get really good quality boots from ASICS or Diadora for less. And they come with decades of pedigree in making football boots.

I hate long boots, there is nothing worse than having a little bit too much length (on my boots lol). I love Sketcher trainers and would have loved to try these but even a tiny bit too much length is a no go for me.

If you ask me to spend that kind of money on a pair of boots, then I'd expect at LEAST 9 out of 10 on DURABILITY. Otherwise, I'd add 50 or 75 Euros to the price you just demanded and get myself a pair from another brand (like Jay Mike indicated) that can last almost forever!

Pirma also make Nike-like cleats that then fund their original cleats. I also feel like this first cleat is better than what NB did when they first entered the football boot game.

Choose a boot that fits you correctly and comfortably. Any boot boot is good for juggling. There are many tutorials for juggling. Key thing is to keep practicing. Its very easy.

I don’t think that would work very well. You need a bit of pointiness to be able to properly hit the ball.
