Shisui unlocked his mangekyou sharingan at age 7 and became taught itachi everything he knows and gave him the sharingan shisui was a legend. Shisui, may not have been the strongest uchiha (although he was the strongest for a time) but in my opinion he's the best uchiha and honestly my favorite character in the series.
All I can say is, is shisui was itachi master. However one day the student has to surpass the master to become to master. Also I believe due to their bond I felt that shisui saw something in itachi why he took him up as his student and started to mentor. Maybe because or his superior talent and his vast potential.

I also wanted to say that itachi Mangekyo Sharingan was weaker but it’s not true that shisui in his base would beat his Mangekyo Sharingan (itachi). The kotoamatsukukami sure shisui is higher. @@mistage1397 this is what I have to say. By that time, itachi was 13. Now he is 21 in the akatsuki. Itachi has a stronger susanoo since he is more used to the mangekyo. Shisui only has the humonoid form since he isn't used to his mangekyo while itachi can used its armored form. Itachi has several killer techniques like the amaterasu. Sure shisui can bodyflicker like a beast but itachi has too much raw power. Shisui doesn't have anything that can piece itachis susanoo. Neither tsukuyomi or Kotoamatsukami would really matter since both know if they look into one another's eyes its instant death.

@@mistage1397 it’s not a opinion it’s a fact though itachi was like 13 when he and obito wipes out the entire clan, he hadn’t contracted illness and about the genjustu part if you read the novels he did use Tsukuyomi on Izumi, he used a stronger version of mangekyou genjustu on Tekka Uchiha and then proceeded to use Tsukuyomi again on Yashiro Uchiha then proceeded to use Tsukuyomi on sasuke I hope to god you actually remember when he used Tsukuyomi on sasuke cause that shit was animated, and used Tsukuyomi again Sugaru aburame(who took part in shisui death) on his insects and as to why he probably didn’t use susanoo probably if you remembered correctly using susanoo uses to much of at the very least large amount of the users chakra and sasuke described at as feeling pain in every cell in his body, which only increases over time of usage as well as at higher developmental stages.

I just wanna say one thing and that is that shisui is stronger he has kotoamatsukami and he's the best genjutsu user with teleportation justsu he's basically mixed in with minato but obviously minato is stronger than shisui
Shisui cannot teleport, he uses body flicker. Also Itachi is more SKILLED at genjutsu then Shisui (I said skilled, not that his genjutsu is more powerful). Also if you scale shisui with his genjutsu then you should scale Itachi with his, which puts him above Shisui as well (He's already above Shisui anyways). Itachi has Tsukuyomi (The second strongest genjutsu unless you count infinite Tsukuyomi, then it's the third) He also has Izanagi, and Izanami. Also where does this Shisui hype come from? Anytime he did something it was just filler, therefore nothing he did in the show is canon.
Look for every episode Shisui did something "cool" in and you will see it's filler

Wait when was itachis eyes trash? That's just being bias. Amaterasu is already crazy. If shisui gets hit its gameover. Shisui never taught itachi EVRYTHING. Shisui taught itachi stuff like finding ways to track down ninja and other sort of ninja expertise and also spared with him. But he didn't teach itachi things like his crow clones and they honed their genjutsu and ninjutsu skills together. All of you are acting like shisui never improved from training with itachi. Shisui got stronger by training itachi as well and by the time itachi was in the akatsuki itachi would have more finess with his skills and stuff. Itachi has also been shown being able to use way more jutsu than shisui.
