I, a huge Michigan fan for 42 years, was in a coma when this game was played. Clinging to life in the ICU. I survived that huge challenge and was so thrilled to be able to watch this game 6 weeks later. It spurred me on to an even greater recovery. Go, Blue!. And thank you, boys.
Cool story. Ironically, a month before this game I was in a coma from a brain injury and was just out of the hospital. I thought the end of this game would give me a heart attack. I collapsed on the floor and then cried, happy to be alive. True story. I hope you are better.
No matter team you are a fan of you gotta admit that thundering crowd at 12:22-12:52 is friggin awesome. This is why I love College Football, you do not see this kind of excitement or spirit in the NFL. Go Blue!!
Nicholas Kozak Agree why college is better because of upsets , tradition, rivalrys, hate towards one another teams, NFL has none of it really, makes College football so Great.
8 years later and this still gives me chills and makes my eyes water. Most amazing atmosphere I've ever experienced in the Big House. And I've been to tons of games! The stadium was still jam packed an hour after the game ended!
Rodney towles I was at this game in the Michigan end zone. It was THE most electrifying game that I ever saw or will see. When my son’s and I left the stadium after celebrating for an hour after the game I told them that this was a 100 year game. A game they will never forget. GO BLUE! 〽️
I remember so vividly watching this game on TV and going wild running throughout the house when they won hahaha...definitely on my list of top 10 Michigan games ever
I keep coming back to this. Most exciting moment of all my years watching Michigan Football. They are playing OSU right now and it looks good. I can’t stand to watch it makes me so nervous but I believe in them.
I was at this game with seats in the end zone. The stadium was electric. Never in my life had I witnessed such a game. I told my sons as we were leaving the stadium that they just witnessed a 100 yr game. One we’ll never forget.
I'll never forget this game. I came home late after work, turned it on and thought Michigan was done for. Then everything changed and it was one of the most exciting games I've ever watched. Made me deeply miss my home town of A2!
Thank you for adding this. I've been a HUGE fan of the Big Blue for 36 yrs now. Last yr when this game was played, I was in a coma. When I came out after 12 days I was told how great this game was. I have only now finally seen the actual outcome. I'm here screaming with joy. Go, Blue in '12. Forget Bama, time to get it together and rock it out, boys.
Thus has to be the best atmosphere ever in a college football game! Top five rivalry, first night game, winningest programs, down to the final seconds! This is what college football is about!
The best game I've ever watched my wolverines play. I started watching Michigan as a die hard fan in 2009, I'm only 19. I can't believe this game is almost 10 years old now. Absolutely crazy, love my wolverines. I wish I could've been there that day. The crowd and atmosphere gives me chills even all these years later.
DetroitLionsFan DR is ahead of his time. What he did will set an example for all future players. We adore you O Denard and we praise you, because by your holy untied shoes you have saved the world. Just kidding. But seriously....
I'll likely never see a better game in person in my lifetime than this one. 2013 vs ND under the lights was a great one, too...but this one was in a league of its own.
I was watching this with my family and everybody fell asleep on me and i stayed up and keept watching the whole game and in not a fan of ethier team but i like mich. more than noter damn and i was so happy when they won. This is one of the craziest games ive ever seen.
Roundtree caught this right in front of my friend and I. I told him when we bought tickets it would be worth it. We would see something cool in Michigan Stadium's first night game.
Greatest 1:41 in Michigan football history, and that's saying a LOT! Thank you for letting us relive this glorious game!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was at this game in the Michigan end zone. It was THE most electrifying game that I ever saw or will see. When my son’s and I left the stadium after celebrating for an hour after the game I told them that this was a 100 year game. A game they will never forget. GO BLUE! 〽️
Greatest game I ever attended and I'm old as dirt, now. This one and the MSU Punt Game. Both ends of the spectrum as far as you can stretch it... What a stadium. What a team. GO BLUE FOREVER.
I was in a coma when this game was played. I am a Blue Man through and through. I am so grateful to be able to play this youtube clip again and again. Sorry I wasn't there for the original version, but am so thrilled to be alive..... and pulling for my Wolverines.
This is probably one of the best michigan games vs notre dame iv ever seen. Not to mention it bein the first ever night game in michigan football stadium history. Most entertaining game iv seem. O yea i almost forgot the way they dressed to make the game look like its a old time back in the day type game plus the referees were dressed like back in the day and the best of all it could not have came at a better time n i say that cause its Desmond Howard tribute day and when you look back at what Desmond Howard did to the Irish it makes the win even sweeter. I'm 34 years old and I remember this game like it was yesterday, and the main reason why I remember it is because after Notre Dame scored that touchdown with only I think 41 seconds left and of course Denard Robinson and the rest of the team of course did not give up they played till the time was all zeros. When they took over the ball with just that many seconds left you could feel it just by looking at him that they weren't given up without a fight and the heart it took for them not to go for the game-tying field goal but the game-winning touchdown.( not to mention takes alot of balls) So I'll definitely put this game in my top 5 games I've ever seen Michigan play whether it's against anybody. But I have to say the number one game I've ever seen Michigan play was when they played Michigan State and they were down by quite a bit and they came back and one because of chad henne throwing it up to Braylon Edwards and of course with both of them having so much talent and Braylon having the greatest receiving ability out there of course he's going to make plays against anybody who covers him and that's obviously what happened. If it wasn't for him making the plays that he did we would not have won that game and then it goes into overtime and then they come down with the win. In the best thing of all is they were down by so much but they never gave up that's the Michigan way. I don't think I've ever felt so good about a Michigan win then that day. I remember what I was feeling like when I was watching it and I seen the Michigan State running back run at like 70 yards for a touchdown I thought it was the end of it and I never felt so down about a football game in my life and when Michigan came back and won that game I said to myself that this will be probably the best Michigan game I've ever seen not to mention them doin it to one of are Arch rivalrys. Gosh i love MICHIGAN. I am a religious person and I pray that from now on Michigan will beat Ohio State as many times as they can just to make everything so much sweeter. But I'm going to be real and say Ohio State is a very good team they are almost every year even when they're not a good team they always put up a good fight against Michigan, when it comes to Michigan and Ohio State rankings really don't matter in my opinion, I seen Michigan ranked number 4 and despite Michigan being ranked number 4 it didn't bother Ohio State one bit in Ohio stay ended up winning that game. so with me being a big big Michigan fan I'm going to go ahead and pray at Michigan beats Ohio State this year it would be in Epic year, the lost to Notre Dame this year isn't the worst that could have happened shoot we might get another chance at them in a playoff game. We'll see what happens and like always GO BLUE 💪.
I'm a buckeye fan and i remember this game. Its was a great game and i respect the wolverines. But go bucks. Cant wait till november, the rivalry just got sweeter with Hoak and Meyer in the picture. Good Luck!!
Denard could have been an excellent QB if he had good mechanics. 95% of his throws were made either off balance or on the run. He had the arm strength before the injury yet could never lose the happy feet. If he had been able to be more accurate, it might have saved the arm from the nerve injury and maybe just maybe could have played under center in the NFL. Kudos to him for making it work at RB.
As a Spartan fan during this era, the only times me and my Dad were pulling for UM was during these games was vs ND. We knew we could beat UM, so if they beat ND that's another rivalry game we would win. This game is no exception.
this will go down as one of my favorite michigan games ever, as well as henne to manningham against psu, and this year's win over osu, and so many more games to choose from. i love wolverines football
i go to MSU, and i was watching this game with my friend who was going to UofM. this was the perfect game for the first ever night game, very entertaining to watch my friend squirm throughout the whole thing. i didn't care who won, both offenses deserved to win in the last 2 minutes, and both defenses deserved to lose in the last 2 minutes
Regardless of the dark side to ND football in the past, both Michigan & ND are undeniably linked by their football histories, and both have greatly contributed to the history and evolution of the sport. Yes, Michigan preceded ND & introduced football to the Irish. Actually the "House that Rockne Built" is a smaller replica of Michigan Stadium. Although Knute Rockne feuded with Fielding Yost, he was impressed by Michigan's stadium & the stature of Michigan football.
I wouldn't say it's the greatest game they ever played but damn it was a memorable one. Section 7 row 71. Quite possibly the best thing I've ever been apart of.
I was with my two boys 13 and 11 at a soccer tournament in South Bend the day this game was played. We were in a hotel room watching the game. I could never get comfortable with Denard’s insane, risky style of offense. I threw the remote at the TV with like 4:00 left in the game when Norte Dame scored to go ahead. I was pissed that I would have to see beaming ND parents all happy the next day. I was grinding my teeth trying to fall asleep. We didn’t find out until the next morning that Michigan had performed a miracle.
UM's all american QB Denard Robinson in just 2 "official" Games vs Nd in his career (3-0 overall) had GET THIS over 900 yards of total offense vs hapless ND in back to back victories for UM in 2010 and this game in 2011 that will live in college lore ETERNALLY. It is BY FAR the most dominating back to back display vs ND by a single opponent player in history. Robinson also threw 4 TD passes in this game while rushing for well over 100 yards! ND fanatics still have nightmares over this game. The ND chokers were leading 24-7 IN THE 4th Quarter and still choked the game away. Glorious!
That was the most amazing game I have ever watched. I was so happy when Smith scored then so sad when ND scored and then went crazy when we scored to win the game GO BLUE!!!
as a Notre Dame fan watching this game, I will always hate Michigan I was incredibly pissed at the end of the game but I give them props for winning this game and knowing the Notre Dame v. Michigan rivalry, I knew that this would be one of the top games that these two would play in against each other and especially being the very first game to ever be played in The Big House at night under the lights! The rivalry between these two teams is becoming more and more of a rivalry every year.
I absolutely Love It! And I love the comment by Brent Mussberger at 10:20 on this vidoe "Let me go back I said Denard Robinson is one of the most exciting players in college football; He is The Most Exciting Player in college Football!" GO BLUE ♥
I just rewatched the 2010 game against ND in South Bend where Denard had over 500 total yards. Granted he was never a fantastic passer, but I always thought he was a bit underrated in that department. Nonetheless, the improvement he made between 2010 and 2011 as a passer was incredible and his touch on passes during these final drives showed that growth. Quarantine observations. GO BLUE!
When they starting crowd 7 nation army I don’t know why whole my body got goosebumps everywhere. Maybe they make me excited with them. Go blue let’s go 2018
thank you. but we are still gonna kick their ass in my mind. but who knows they might make it close or even win. but we will all find out come september 1st. this is one of the most hyped up games of the season i've ever seen.
I'm from Arkansas, and an Arkansas Razorback fan. And the only knowledge I have of Michigan Wolverines is the hour long video on RUclips about their rivalry with Ohio State, still, I think I'm becoming a fan....
This was the most insane UM game I've ever watched. The longest drive of the day? 4 plays. I was so sorry to see Reece graduate. Who ever thought to hand out pom poms to the crowd is an MVP.
jtg1124 guess what, harbaugh is back, with some of the best assistant coaches in the country. Michigan is going to be on the radar again in about a year.
Fun fact I watched this live when I was a kid, years later I went to a Michigan camp and met Roy rountree and got a picture with him, crazy meeting the person who made you just and scream in your living room when you were 8
I am from the home town of the Harbaugh boys, my great aunt graduated with Jim. While he is intense and an amazing coach he is a small town boy with the love of a sport!!!

As a Badger fan, I gotta say I was thinking the exact same thing when I was watching that.
Nicholas Kozak Agree why college is better because of upsets , tradition, rivalrys, hate towards one another teams, NFL has none of it really, makes College football so Great.
GO GREEN
Especially as a Michigan fan, it gives me goosebumps
mike flips get out pls ur just jealous

One of the best games EVER
Shoelace is one of the most exciting college players ive ever seen..his heart was ridiculous
Bach
AstroKnott Alabama loved shoelace. !!!
He was Lamar Jackson before Lamar Jackson
He wasn’t the greatest QB, but overall athletic-wise one of the Michigan greats
Too bad it never translated into the pros he was very excited to watch. Always wondered what if he was drafted into a team that was not horrible
I remember so vividly watching this game on TV and going wild running throughout the house when they won hahaha...definitely on my list of top 10 Michigan games ever
Did you watch Michigan/Army today?
WW III We played like garbage.
Right up there when y’all played App State 😏
I keep coming back to this. Most exciting moment of all my years watching Michigan Football. They are playing OSU right now and it looks good. I can’t stand to watch it makes me so nervous but I believe in them.

Yes, but not at all how you were expecting it.
@Grant Vasquez bruh that’s insane
I'm a Clemson fan but I've always wanted to go to a game at the Big House.
should be easy to get tickets now... The attendance drops each week since we suck now
michigan1777 hey man on tuesday we're gonna get jim harbaugh
michigan1777 sources are saying that it is most likely for him to go to michigan
michigan1777 and his family is pushing him to go there

Saw this game on TV. I had an early morning the next day, but I was determined to see it through. What a great ball game.
Being a Michigan fan and seeing this game... Words cannot describe!!
"Fires down field, wide open's Gallon!! They left him alone!!!" love it.
Those jerseys Michigan wore in that game...I'm wearing one right now, #16 jersey.
I own one too.
I'm a fan of both teams, more so for Michigan, but it's so sad that these two great teams won't ever play each other again.
Nate Kyng They will. Just give it time. There's too much money to be made off this rivalry for it to die.
BackCountryBrdr I wanna believe it. I mean, if nothing else, just have a game for the hell of it, out of respect.
+Nate Kyng How in the hell can you be a fan for both teams....That is just dumb!
+Nate Kyng Harbaugh and Kelly have mutual interest in continuing the rivalry in the next coming years
***** Good, they need to.
The day I became a Michigan fan. Never looked back.

It's crazy when you think about it Denard Robinson is now a starting RB for a NFL team.
How is that crazy
Deonte Long It is because you usually don't go from QB to HB.

I watch the Jags (I live in FL three TV games on Sunday; three Florida teams) but just to watch Denard
Dagger Dick has he ever thrown a pass in the nfl? One would think the jaguars would have done it at least once in a trick play
I'll likely never see a better game in person in my lifetime than this one. 2013 vs ND under the lights was a great one, too...but this one was in a league of its own.

First ever night game at Michigan Stadium? God damn.
one of the most exciting finishes that season, hands down.
I remember this season just when you thought it was over. Dennard was what we needed hands down after losing 7 years straight to ohio
"How big is this stadium?"
The entire population of South Bend Indiana couldn't fill every seat.
Sits over 111,000
Why would everybody from South Bend go to Ann Arbor ?
I think the record is 115,112

im an ohio state fan but u gotta love a team with the determination to make a comeback and fans tht are soooooo loud... good job michigan
Saw this LIVE and STILL the most exciting Wolverines victory in my known world! Oh and the final play was hilarious af🤣😅
i remember loseing my voice at home lol the only time i screamed like that was that year against ohio state when i was there
As a Michigan fan who lives 30 minutes away from the Golden Dome, Michigan beating ND never gets old.
Watching that segment live on TV (max volume) was the coolest thing I've ever seen lol
I am a Michigan fan and I would have to say this was a great game👌👌
I'm from Arkansas, and an Arkansas Razorback fan. And the only knowledge I have of Michigan Wolverines is the hour long video on RUclips about their rivalry with Ohio State, still, I think I'm becoming a fan....
This was the most insane UM game I've ever watched. The longest drive of the day? 4 plays. I was so sorry to see Reece graduate. Who ever thought to hand out pom poms to the crowd is an MVP.
I was there. So heartbreaking. Denard won that game for Mich. Great job.
i was at this game. Hands down the best football game i have been to in my life!
I can’t tell if this Michigan offense was just extremely good or if defense was extremely bad a few years ago
Throwbacks. College Gameday. Rivalry. UM first night game. Comeback victory. Last second Game winning TD.The real game of the century
Michigan is the better school in all aspects. NO DOUBT!
Are people actually this dumb?

"Yes there talent kept the last meeting close 31-0 very good coaching" .....nice attempt at English!
jtg1124 guess what, harbaugh is back, with some of the best assistant coaches in the country. Michigan is going to be on the radar again in about a year.
***** meanwhile im at osu chillin with the trophy
Excitement followed by depression followed by Pure Awesomeness!!!
Fun fact I watched this live when I was a kid, years later I went to a Michigan camp and met Roy rountree and got a picture with him, crazy meeting the person who made you just and scream in your living room when you were 8
Huge Ohio State fan, but I love what Michigan did at the end of this game. let's see The Game under the lights here soon!
I was at this game, by far the most amazing atmosphere and the loudest this stadium has ever gotten
It's a good thing Michigan has a lot of history, because for the past 15 years, they sure as Hell have been living in it.
what a gift this game was - we won with Brady Hoke as our coach - just saying
I had to watch this, getting pumped up for tonight.
SO happy I got to go to that game. Was great.
Never gets old. Ever.
imagine if Harbaugh coached while we had Denard...
I am from the home town of the Harbaugh boys, my great aunt graduated with Jim. While he is intense and an amazing coach he is a small town boy with the love of a sport!!!
Harbaugh would just make him throw checkdowns
Julie Hershberger very cute story
I always felt bad for number 4 on Notre Dame.
Yeah i agree I always feel bad for the players and coaches when this happens. Must be an awful feeling.
absolutley legendary game
