This the is answer to all who think a Ukulele isn't a 'serious' instrument.
Bravo!
Thank You! It's as simple or complex as you'd like it to be.
Sim, eu amo ukulele/cavaquinho
@@maryocecilyo3372 nao eh a mesma coisa .-.
This inspired me to really get serious about fingerstyle ukulele. Thank you.
Hi Kristina! yes, I think using the fingers opens up a whole new world.
I couldn't help but smile right after the last chord. Thank you for the beautiful playing.
Glad you enjoyed it! thanks for listening
I love this melody, it's so haunting and gorgeous.
Thanks for listening - it's a timeless song
Years ago I heard someone play Jimi Hendrix on a electric ukulele and I was blown away this blows that away a 100 times over.. outstanding
Thanks Sam!
Every note is so clear its unreal
Thank you for posting this
Thanks Vinicius! I thought I may have muffed a note or two...
Wonderful! Every so often I get disillusioned with practicing fingerstyle and this reminds me that it is worth it! Thank you
Such a humble and prodigious man, with a superb performance on the ukelele
thanks Kevin!
Beautiful, beautiful, ukulele played by a master sounds so wonderful. Greetings from Portugal.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You’ve made one of my favorite classical pieces more bright and exuberant. Thank you
Dan -Happy to hear that!

Long live, Daniel!
Thanks Dmitry! glad you like
Fantastic!!
Thanks!
Wow! How beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
I LOVE THIS.
I WANNA USE STRONGER MORE ENTHUSIASTIC LANGUAGE BUT I DON'T WANT YOU THINK I'M INAPPROPRIATE.
IT'S THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TIME SIGNATURE IN A TRANSPOSED PIECE EVER.
Shhhhh, don't scream, i'm listening the piece.
"what a strange person"
Glorious!
Thanks Jeff!
To think this what early guitar is like before the Spanish guitar. Mediaeval and classical suits the ukulele so well
thanks for the comment!
Revisiting this so many months later, this brings me so much joy and honestly helps me with my depression every time I come back and visit your channel. Thank you so much for all that you do!
Thanks Olive! I appreciate your comment
Wow, just beyond my wildest imagination. I am sure Bach would have been proud of you.
thanks Thomas! that's a nice thing to say
This is so clean amazing job
Thank you! Cheers!
This is amazing!!! I am currently trying to learn this on the ukulele. Definitely will not get anywhere close to this level, but you have to start somewhere.
Hi Tom,
This is not a very easy piece to perform, but certainly worth the effort. It became a much easier matter when I tuned the ukulele in fifths. (see comment below this) Thanks for the comment, Daniel
He got to this level by practicing, you can do it too
After listening to this many many times I am trying this out too, but I’m having trouble locating the notes between .29 and .31 !
@@bexmk4904 just look up the original notes for the cello suite
OMG I haven't thought this could be possible. Simply amazing.
Thanks Hyejeong! I appreciate the comment Daniel
Thank you~ this is lovely. I recently started playing the ukulele.
glad you like it -- keep on practicing!
Bravissimo!!!! 💗💗💗💗💗
thanks!
Sir you just made my day a whole lot better, Lord bless you and your music!
Thanks for the comment --glad I could be a part of your day. Daniel
*being raised on classical music i absolutely love this...my mom played the ukulele and i know she would have loved this as well*
Thanks Scott!
Thanks for sharing, it sounds so good on a Ukulele tenor, great job!
Thanks for listening!
Playing is so fluid , you are inspiring us, three chorder types into the world of the great works of classical artists . Thank you❤️🙏 .
Btw the intonation is impeccable of your ukulele .
Thanks! I lucked out with that uke...
Bravo! This is the best performance of this prelude on a ukulele that I have heard! Perfect execution, perfect tempo, and wonderful, clear tone. This is what I have been looking for to emulate. Your left and right hand positions are what I consider correct. I think it is only possible with a strap such as you use. The low G tuning is also perfect for this piece. Wonderful job!
David - Glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate your comment... I have the ukulele tuned in 5ths, like a cello (or violin)
@@danbluedeerwhat is your tuning exactly if I might ask
Bravo Mr !
Merci pour « lui »!
Merci pour la musique !
Merci pour nous!
Before listening I didn't think this would work. I was wrong: every note sounds clear as a bell and does full justice to the piece.
Thanks Phillip - that's nice to hear!
You've earned a sub Sir.
Holy.... how does someone acquire such mastery? I recently bought my first uke, I want to play a string instrument and it seemed like the best place for me to start. If I practice everyday for a couple of hours, I might be able to do a youtube video like this in 30 years! Simply amazing.
Thanks! just keep on practicing....
I'm learning to play, and this is so inspiring. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks Brittany Have fun!
I could listen to this all day. Absolutely stunning display of talent and experience!
Thanks CW --I appreciate the comment. Daniel
I really love this suite. The performance touch my heart! This wonderful to express classic instruments about finger style ukulele.thank you for your sharing.
Thanks Yu-Ting Glad you like it!
My hero!!!
thanks for listening!
A great piece of music, which I occaisionally play on mandocello (or sometimes mandolin). This performance really reminds me that I need to practice more!
Thanks Kevin -- keep playing!
Beautiful, touches the soul.

Wonderful!
Thanks Brennan! Daniel
Wow amazing. That's how it's done. Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
amazing
Thank you! Cheers!
this is very beautiful
Thank You Dr. Durga!
Imagine if he did this in your typical Facebook ukulele fashion: you know...sitting on the bed, black and white filter, but instead of the usual chill acoustic standard, there’s this. Best bait and switch ever, lol
ha ha ....maybe it's a misstep on my part, but I stay away from Facebook like the Corona virus
That is simply gorgeous. Thank you!
Hi Gertjan,
Thanks for the comment....glad you like the music!
best,
Dan
Hi Dan, thanks for replying. I like the music, obviously, but your playing and interpretation is what makes it interesting. I invite you to have a look at my channel; the size of the instruments we play is just slightly different, yet I think, equally complicated :-)
.....just slightly different size! Your playing is on a grand scale and I salute your
musicianship on the king of instruments.
Thank you dear sir!
Genial!.
Thanks!
I always enjoy hearing you play, hope all is well!
Thanks for listening
Wonderful.
Thank You Russell! /Daniel
Masterfully done. Fingerstyle Ukulele is the best. It brings out all the beautiful tunes in any Ukulele. Absolutely magical
Thanks so much! Glad you like it Daniel
Sharing this with friends in Florida. Beautiful, just beautiful.
Thanks Chris! Dan
This is incredible, dare I say I think I actually prefer it on the ukulele to the cello! And I am a big fan of cellos, so that's not a frivolous comment!! You play it so smoothly as well and without any hesitation, it would take me months to learn to play that and it wouldn't be a patch on your playing, thanks for sharing :)
Thanks Mr. B ... I appreciate your comment!
great! I want to learn this so much!
Thank You! Daniel
Wonderful! What a perfect performance...
Thanks for that!
This is amazing!!
Thank you Sarah! Daniel
Woah! I'd love to learn how to play this beautiful masterpiece.
all it takes is several thousand hours of practice. (it's worth it, though)
danbluedeer wow, thousands hours! That’s a lot of work.
Thanks.
Really brilliant. A wonderful arrangement and beautifully played.
Thank You! much appreciated
Thank you so much for this. It's magical. I love it.
and thank you for the comments!
best wishes
Just awesome and something to aspire to :)
Thanks for listening Chrismofer!
I want to get serious with my ukulele skills, as a favor to myself. I realized lately the calming power of playing music. Not just as a creative hobby but something that brings joy. I would like to get into classical music renditions done in ukulele. Kind sir, please tell how I can acquire tabs for practice.
Thanks for the comment! I would suggest reading through the other comments until
you find something about tuning your uke in 5ths and a book by Rob MacKillop
Finding your channel just made my day :)
glad I could help! Daniel
FANTASTIC!
Wow, just beautiful!
Thanks, 122MLJ
Esa música es una delicia para mis oídos ¡hermosa!
Thanks!
Oh my soul! SLOWWWWW down! Teach us how to do this with our own instruments!! This is gorgeous!
Thanks Emily! for transcribing most material I've used devices that slow down the music to
half-speed (and in between). I'd highly recommend getting one if you don't have such a machine. :)
Found you on a different video but I gotta say this interpretation feels light and playful with the Ukulele and it brought an immediate smile to my face. Great job!
Thanks Elizabeth! glad you like
Going down a rabbit hole tonight listening to your music. I have to say, I would never have thought to put Bach and Ukulele in the same sentence before this. :)
John - thanks for listening in the rabbit hole...
Simply gorgeous! Thank you for sharing your gift! 💕🙏🏻🎵

Thanks Eric --I appreciate the comment! Daniel
Wow you do an amazing job! Your brother attends our Church here in Northern Maine. I just got a baritone ukulele from my Uncle who passed away. I've been trying to play each day. I am a guitar player normally, but am really enjoying the Ukulele. Blessings in Christ to you Sir.
Thanks for the comment...consider yourself fortunate if you have a good baritone uke. I've often thought of acquiring one, but the tenors seem to fit my needs (and my spouse keeps talking about down-sizing- too much stuff around here.)
@@danbluedeer Thank you Sir, you are a very talented musician.
An absolute delight !... I can't imagine what it would sound like in campanella style !
thanks! I found that tuning in 5ths and playing off the cello score gave the best result in this case
@@danbluedeer It was indeed an amazing interpretation ! I'm actually blown away in how many different ways we can play this piece. I'm actually digging the campanella style, but it is extremely non-intuitive, lol. Maybe I should give 5th tuning a try ?... All what I have heard so far tuned in this way sounded down right amazing, so I must give a closed look at it. Thanks for your answer ! 🙂
Really beautiful, and well played. This is what I aspire to.
Thanks Kit! keep on practicing
Uau!!!!!’ Bravo!
Thanks for listening!
Amazing!!! I've been looking for some awesome classical ukelele like this
Hi Dani,
Thanks! I'm glad you like it.
Do you have tabs available for your ukelele classics by any chance? I'd love to be able to play some Bach :P
Dani,
Sorry, I don't have tabs. In order to play the cello suites and violin works of Bach I've tuned the uke in
5ths, which gets a bit complicated because you have to experiment with different string gauges.
If you read some of the other posts here you can find out more...there is a book with tabs of cello suites 1-3 for tenor banjo which is tuned in 5ths. You could read from that if you get the uke set up in 5ths.
Cool, thanks a lot :) I'll look into it, it might be in interesting experiment.
Been listening to your stuff on Spotify, I absolutely love it.
It's worth the effort because the tuning in 5ths extends the range of the ukulele so that all
of the cello (and violin) notes are available. Ukes are pretty inexpensive compared to guitars so
why not get another one and leave it strung in 5ths? :>)
Beautiful sound ! - Joli son !
Many thanks!
Many thanks!
I fell in love with your playing, simply awesome....I might just buy a uke and start practicing, thank you for this
Rahul- thanks for listening - good luck with the uke!
😲😲😲😲😲😲 beautiful ❤️
I wanna learn now
Aren - You can do it!
Wonderful, Dan. Classic FM out of London UK just put this on my Facebook feed as a "Suggested For You" viewing. Anytime I now hear or view any of your playing, I think of John. Take Care, ~~ j.c.

Gracias!
aH so refreshing to see this infamous piece played on another instrument!!
Thanks! it is quite a famous (or infamous) piece
Very sweet!!! 👏😍❤
Lays - You are so kind
Súper!!
Thanks!
I love this, too, as do most of the listners, here. Your version with ukulele has a lightness to it - a preludium-feeling - that cello doesn't (can't?) offer. Thanks for your post.
Hi Howard!
Thanks for the comment. I agree about the lightness the ukulele offers, although sometimes I wish it
had more access to the lower end and all the volume that a cello is capable of producing.
Maybe you'd want to think about spanning some lower "drone"-strings which would reverberate while playing, giving you the depth you wish.
Hmmm...maybe a double-neck uke-a-tar. Some luthier has probably tried a guitar-uke hybrid instrument.
Yoo-hoo out there! anybody made one?
