I wish you mentioned a weird fact about the museum the Maus is in. The Maus wasn't driven or maneuvered into the museum, the museum was built around the Maus

No it cant the entire engine-generator-motor system is long gone as well as pretty much the entire internals only the external things remain. If you are interested in what it looks like, Wargaming for World of Tanks did a video called "Outside the Cheiftains Hatch- Maus" it's very informative on the maus and he goes inside it to show what's left

Unfortunately no. It's only an empty hull and the turret/gun. All the turret equipment was destroyed when the Germans set charges off in it to destroy the 2nd prototype tank. It literally blew the turret off the destroyed hull. And nobody really knows what happened to the engine, generator, transmission and final drives that were removed from the existing v1 hull. There has been on again, off again talks about completely restoring it but the costs to do it is estimated to be in the tens of millions and the simple fact there is literally no spare parts existing anywhere for the Maus to be refurbished makes it practically impossible to do.

they have a maus in the game still, but its on the test drive. i haven't been able to blow it up yet since my tanks aren't high enough level. damn thing is nearly invincible. the russians figured out how to penetrate its hull though, if you see the one in the museum it is full of holes from shaped charges
brrrayday the Russians never figured how to pen its hull in fact they never shot it, the holes are from tests to determine if the amor could withstand the guns on tanks from the time also the maus never saw combat one of them blew up during testing and the maus currently in the kubinka tank museum is actually two mauses the turret from one and the hull from another please do research next time

Basically there's a show called "Inside the Chieftain's Hatch" developed by Wargaming, a video game company, where the host(Nicholas Moran, a.k.a 'Chieftain') takes a look at different tanks and explains their features. When he was doing a review on Maus, he mentioned, that Germans painted the USSR Symbol on the tank for this purpose.
Various sources of information also confirm this fact.

It’s meant to be a tank destroyer only, not anti-infantry nor is it good off-road or against aircrafts and it’s really slow so it’s not easy to catch up with advancing forces, plus if the tracks are broken it’s almost impossible to get working again on the battlefield

The Landkreuzer P. 1000 Ratte was the worlds largest tank concept ever designed. It was designed to use Naval artillery used on the Battleship Bismarck as its main weapon, with a smaller secondary gun used on the prototype Pz 8 Maus. This tank was so massive it needed dozens of Anti Aircraft cannons. Although this sounds scary it would probably just get stuck in the mud like the Maus tanks and be a massive target for high altitude bombing. It was only a blueprint and never made.
Ohm..... I think you need to read that again. If that is true that you say, then the main guns on Bismarck had been shrunk in size. First, it was a prototype that never left the papers, so it is hard to know what it would be armed with, and some might over due it and says something that isnt so true. There is no one in the world that would know how it would had looked if it got made. Only models of what it could had been look like. Second, Bismarck's main guns is is 38 cm, or 380 mm. Alot bigger and heavier then the 28cm/280mm duel turret that "Ratte" would had used. The 28cm guns are the same guns used on Scharnhorst class battleships.
Landkreuzer P.1000 Ratte was described as a land ship which it also would had looked like with the main guns. They thought that it would reach around 40 km/h, but it will most likely be less. I mean see at Maus that weighs around 188 tons and can only drive between 18-20 km/h
@@Danspy501st maus was solid though, this was intended to be hollow like a regular ship, but on land. Soviet T35 was the same idea but smaller, exchanging the one giant turret for many smaller ones, like a destroyer.
If it weren't for aircraft it would probably be a good idea. The inspiration simply hit everyone too late. It's the PSI pressure that kills a tank not simply its weight, by being so much larger, there would probably be room for more engines and the weight would be spread out more, so it wouldn't be as slow.

It was never planned to be armed with 15inch guns from Bismarck. 11-inch guns were planned from the Scharnhorst, except to add space, the center one was removed.

Yamato is much more understandable, as every major WWII navy made the exact same mistake of trying to build the best possible battleships for a major surface battle. Then it turned out all of these ships (both Axis and Allied) were already obsolete even before they were launched, because aircraft carriers.
As an example: The Iowas were more technologically advanced than Yamato but proved just as useless for their intended purpose of killing other capital ships, making them just as impractical. (Before you say Iowa was intended to escort fleet carriers, this wasn’t why she was designed and built-you don’t need 16” guns for AA duty. She was built to intercept other fast capital ships and sink them, which she never did).
They had to. Only way they would learn was from mistakes. Besides it does a good deed for cool videos like this.

Commander800 Maus Is Good in the game when matched correctly but most times it gets matched with post war tanks that can totally anhilate you with their nasty HEATFS,ATGM Mobile Launchers and sometimes a freaking Object 232
Correction: Object 120 which is a paper tank with but has freaking 800 mm of pen with their normal shells that will anhilate you either way they fire at you

today:a leopard 2A7 have 3 times of that armor in front also composite not just steel and its below 70 tons.

That was a heavy tank. I recall somewhere that the practical weight limit for ground pressure even with tracks is around 70 long tons.

No, it wasn't. They had technically 100 free vehicles that weren't going to do any better if they were allowed to rust. And if you want combat effectiveness, look up how our general staff started whipping tank designers after it's resurfacing. All works on future IS-2(which received a copy of it's muzzle break btw) were accelerated, was made a decision to create ISU-122 "just in case", other projects were adjusted too. Would have soviet military reacted in such a way if there was no reason to take further cautious measures to ensure having a counter? There is quite a few articles on it's use in battle, it's armor testing as well as our military reports.
And once again, almost all Ferdinands lost during their first mass parcipation in combat were victims of our sappers, not artillery or airforce. And surely not of tank guns:P
