  • What did i find down the Dangerous North Yorkshire Cliff Edge?
How dangerous was it to get down to the bottom?
Join me near Whitby in North Yprkshire as i take a little detour from walking the former Whitby to Loftus Railway, now known as the Cleveland Way.
I find a rather sketchy and steep footpath with a rope, wobbly posts, a step stair case and washed away steps to contend with.

What a lovely video, particularly for an old guy like me who could never negotiate that path, it allowed me to share your experience, thank you.
Someone has taken a lot of care maintaining that path and building those stairs, I wonder who?

Lovely Video, with excellent drone footage! This Spot was a great find, thank you for taking me down to the Beach!! Alas, my legs couldn't get me down there with those very steep steps. I think the piece of metal you spotted on the beach could have been from what was the original Railway Line & used to join up the sides of the track. Lovely Filming as Always,Thank You for Sharing.

Ant, why is it than whenever I watch one of your videos, I wish I was also there on the journey ------ off camera of course. It's hard to tell on a laptop, but that hill side and cliffs look a tad bit unstable, the look of the cliffs and rocky beaches in the drone shot look like it could be along the coast of Palos Verdes Hills "just south of Torrance and north of San Pedro CA. The UK has so much to see, you will have content for years to come. OH great drone work, shows the beauty of the journey.

Wow. What a great video! Fantastic scenery but quite eerie as well (accentuated by the soundtrack!) I would think that descent would be even more hazardous after wet weather so you were lucky that it was so beautiful and dry. What a wonderful journey it must have been on the old Whitby to Middlesbrough railway. There are a couple of old tunnels on the path going north from Sandsend . We walked there once to see if we could het in but they seemed well sealed. Staithes and the viaduct there must have been another major highlight of the journey.

Cor be careful Ant - Mind you I would have probably done the very same thing - but what does it look like @ high tide??? @ 6:56 - I think that to me looks like a part of a what they call "A Chair" - which is the part what holds the Rail to the Sleeper me thinks😉🚂🚂🚂

Please Ant, when showing us around places, can you try not to spin the handheld gopro too fast...makes me feel a bit pukey! Take it slow and allow the viewers to absorb the images. Also, when doing seaside walks, please try to research tidal times. Would hate to lose you to the sea!! Again, thanks for showing us the beautiful scenery from the ground and in the air. Such a great pilot!

The camera movement is something that'll probably stay.. it's not something I can consciously think about whilst doing everything else. In 4 years I've had maybe 3 comments about it 🤷
The tide was on it's way out as I knew this from knowing nearby Whitby tide times
