I never saw the weasel eating any chicken. I recommend you to get a large dog, maybe a german shepard or similar in order to protect the birds. If you have a large farm, a donkey is also a good keeper. Donkeys protect your animals too.

I realize you´ve seen youtube videos claiming this, but let me give you some advice; don´t believe youtube videos, they just make you think you´re smart and know more than you do. First and foremost, you have to train a donkey if you want it to be a guard for your other animals, and donkeys are very stubborn. So you´ll pay a ridiculous amount to have a professional train it and then you can just hope for the best (you can train it yourself but you´ll fail)..Also, a common thing that happens with donkeys is they will attack another animal for no reason, as their personalities are a bit aggressive. So your chicken or goat it is supposed to be protecting may very well get injured or killed by your donkey who is protecting them...People think donkeys are good protectors because donkeys are always alert, but they are not alert to save your other animals, they stay alert ONLY for themselves..Lastly, a large dog/german sheppard is not necessary to guard your farm animals. Most dogs can be trained to do this, a border collie or a mutt would be just as effective as a german sheppard.
@@north2green my dad used to have farms and donkeys always protected other farm animals. Just dont buy an adult donkey. You need to buy a young donkey so he will make friends around the farm. Chicken adore them !!...old horses and old donkeys come with weird behaviors from former owners. I used to have an old horse, he used to run like crazy everytime someone was smoking a cigarette next to him.... I guess the former owner used to burn his legs with a cigarette or something. Again dont buy an old donkey. Buy a young one.

You should change you title. I have one killing my chickens and this was no help at all. I would recommend a hop ladder up to the roosts and putting the roosts higher up. Get buckets, cut holes out the bottom and put them over the pillars under the roosts so nothing can climb up. Ive got foxes, a weasel, and coyotes gettin my moms birds. Where im at in the house i can never get outside before the dogs and they always scare em away before i can shoot em. Was interested in how they did it. Good luck!
