Lorain Furniture uploaded the first videos of the new 2018 Speed Queens doing a full cycle. After watching it I'm surprisingly impressed by the new machine and I still feel it will outclean anything else sold on the market. I say the new machines should be given a chance.
It probably will do better than what will be sold. But I cannot see it being better than these SQs. A recent video of their’s Showed a full load of regular clothing. It didn’t go very well.
I always use the “dry” setting not the “near dry” setting in order for the clothes to come out dry. I guess on a large load it works better but since it’s just me I never have very large loads. They would not be throughly dry. By the way your right on a “sensing” cycle never open the door it does throw the sensor off and stops too soon.
Sharkie I have the 8 series. When I select dry it shows less time then near dry. Normal? 49 vs 69 minutes. By the way the quality on these units could be better. Dryer has a knocking / rattle from the back of the unit. The washer has a strange odor and the warm temperature favors the cold range. 3 days old and I has service schedule already.
The Pink Diamonds what it does is remember the last amount of use and that time comes up. By the way mine does exactly the same thing when you first start the dryer it’s very noisy then it calms down somewhat.
I know Jay likes to use it as well. I don't use it though because the sheets do a great job, and this keeps the dispenser of the washer nice and clean. On occasion, I will run hot water through it during a cycle to make sure it stays that way! ;)
On my old Whirlpool Duet front-loading dryer the cool down cycling did not start until five minutes or less remain on the cycle. Not sure if that's a good thing. And would you pause the automatic cycle on a mechanical controlled cycle?
The cool down depends on what temperature setting you have on this one. 10 minutes for High, 8 minutes for Medium, and 6 minutes for Low. As for pausing on a mechanical one? Maybe. Never tried it before.
I've watched several of your videos regarding the SQs and the 2018 changes. I'm looking to get the exact set that you have. My question is, do you think the 9 series with the electronics (knowing the dryer issue that you had EECO code) are a better choice then dropping back to a mechanical controlled set like the AWN432S and the ADG3SRGS?
The 9-series should be okay. Not many seem to have this problem that we did. It's possible that we just got a bad board. We haven't had any problems since the repair.
I got the 2019 speed queen TC5000wn washer that has knob controls along with the macthing dryer the DC5000we which also has knob controls. They are great.
Sharkie626 My mom was not surprised about me wanting a Speed Queen washer and dryer... Maybe I could talk her into a used 2017 or older models when our Disgraceful Samsungs completely die and warranty wears out..
I've heard of that, but I have not seen any evidence of such. We've been using them with towels for years, and we haven't had that problem before. I think what's happening is, others are using more than one per load.
@@Sharkie626 i love using dryer sheets it makes my towls soft and smell fresh i love the scent. I havent had an issue with the towls either. I also use the sheets on bedding i love a nice fresh smelling bed when i go to sleep i only use one per load for my standard wash. I use them sometimes on my shirts or dress stuff whe. I want them to smell good. I usually just use them on bedding and towels i also like to use the in wash scent boosters but i get the same fragrance as my dryer sheets indont want a over power of fragrances. I have noticed though that every six month's or so i have to wash the lint screen the wax from the sherts builds up on the lint screen.

I have this same dryer and have found out that if you clean out the lint trap half way through the cycle it goes faster.
I've thought about that. Maybe if I was using Time Dry I would, but I don't like the idea too much of doing that during auto sense.

I actually first used the Near Dry setting when I first used auto sense on the dryer just to see how it would perform. It's been good for us!

So my dryer has the extended light on and keep on shutting off and on over and over what can it be?
Hmm unsure, I've never heard of that before.
What’s the buzzer sound like this dryer
Just a long simple beep.
i like to use liquid fabric softener instead of fabric softener sheets because my clothes has more smell good

2018 Speed Queen washing machine sucks!

Oh it does!
what do you think about brand new 2018 Speed Queen washing machine without transmission?
I just answered that to your previous comment dude
How does the lint increase dry time?
Unsure. I have since stopped using auto sensing with towels. I just used Time dry now for 60 minutes.
Interesting, I guess it blocks air flow out so the wetter air sits longer and since its sensing, its gonna assume all sorts of things.
@@nl.515 well yeah thats why you clean out tje filter before you start a load man, espescially making sure the exhaust isnt blocked
How does high heat actually mean in degrees?
Unsure actually. I never really saw any measurements for dryer temperature selections.
I never clean the lint filter, is that okay?
No, you should clean it each time you use it.
No its not okay
Thats like replacing the air filter on a ac
Tje unit will work harder as it struggles to move any air around

Thanks for the quick reply and info. You have sold me. I'm glad that I found your videos because I was close to buying the new 2018 TR/DR combo.
Glad I could help ya! :D

They are great.
No buzzer, but a microwave speaker
It's not too bad.
Sharkie626
It doesn't bother me.

I stopped using dryer sheets for towels because it cause the towels to lose the ability to absorb water
