its a glitch, you don't even have to play a full game you can leave with a few kills and it gives you a shit ton of xp, continuing playing doesnt give you the same xp. its a 1st game on thing. my friend went from 20-29 and he played half a match and left, went to tarkov and he gained 9 levels. noice guy didn't know this and he thought it was all his games combined. I played a few wipes b4 upgrading to EOD
I say just keep it why not give casual players a casual option if they want to make a little slower sure but I would not be opposed to arena being a good way to grind purely just xp. Especially since even if you get lvl 42 in arena you will still need to do tasks to level traders up and be able to buy some stuff.
I agree with you bro, there should be more than one way to progress in the game, especially for people who primarily play the game for PvP or for people who get tired of new wipe server bullshit so that they can progress and not feel fucked over from the servers taking a massive shit. It seems very casual friendly. If you play both, you can lose a bunch of shit in raids and then just make your money back in arena with the boys. Sounds pretty nice honestly

Because early wipe progression is part of the fun for everyone. Between this and UE starter Junkbox the early wipe just doesn't exist anymore, we just start in midwipe essentially

I like mid to late game more than early game(its one of the main reasons I switched to SPT personally as it took forever to reach high enough levels in Live). In early game its just a bunch of people running around like headless chicken with what feels like WW2 era equipment lmao xD

You still have to do quests and spend money in game to unlock traders and a lot of gear/barters. Plus, main storyline is still coming which will probably unlock all of the traders in a more 'tarkovy' way. I don't see an issue really.

Is fine as is. Not everybody has the time to grind hard to level up in EFT. EFT's big issue is the lack of "respect for your time". This allows casual people that own both to level up at an acceptable rate then jump over to EFT when you have time to put towards quest.
NoiceGuy. I don't know if you read your comments, but are you aware there are many of us who are struggling with the games not being linked? More specifically the player levels are not synced, and any XP earned in Arena does not transfer over to the main game. I'm trying to shed some light on this issue until BSG can confirm they are aware of it. Thanks for all you do.
This is a fucking awesome change because it gives regular people a way to keep up with no lifes. No brain shoot shit and be competetive in tarkov? I love it. I seldomly play tarkov and its to scratch the extraction shooter itch and I actually play Arena more just to enjoy the combat. Arena contributing to tarkov progress gives me a reason to play both now. I wanna do quests, build guns and kits, and build my hideout? Tarkov. Just in the mood to get into fights and get kills? Arena. This move might actually salvage both games. Casuals like myself have a consistent means of money and XP. Giga sweats will continue to knock out the first 20 levels in the first few days. And at the end of the day I wont have to run into level 30s with meta guns at level 5 anymore. I havent been this excited to play in years.
I don’t think it really matters bc as you said you’ll be lvl 17 but you won’t have done any quests and imo lvl2 traders are pretty useless the gear you get compared to lvl1 isn’t that much better
Id say keep it. Brings people to Arena and it allows some casuals to level up without doing the same old beginner tasks that we are all sick of early wipe. And waiting in long ques on wipe week.
Crazy Idea that people prob wouldn’t like, but would prolong the early wipe: Make the flea market locked out/unavailable during the first week or two of wipe. Just explain lore wise, that since the recent lockdown people don’t trust others and there is not enough infrastructure to support a flea market within the first week. (Maybe you could argue about Lv3 traders locked on the first week, and explain it in the lore and how traders like Peacekeeper can’t get supplies imported due to the recent events. But I think that may be pushing it)
Money gain is fine. 1.5mil/day is pretty fair, if a little underwhelming given how much you can make on scav runs in the same amount of time with a half decent loot run and any luck. XP gain is problematic though. Level 17 in 7 hours works out to over 32k/hr of zero risk XP, which just seems way too high. I think a good solution would be drastically cutting the regular XP gain and have the main source of XP come from daily/weekly tasks in Arena, limiting the amount of free XP you can earn just by grinding Arena endlessly. This would even allow balancing like they have in the base game where at higher levels you earn more XP from these tasks to keep you leveling up at a relatively consistent rate instead of having it take progressively longer as the XP required to level up increases but the XP earned from matches stays the same.
32k exp an hour is terrible, considering that you get Tarkov shooter quests that award like 12k exp just for bringing a mosin in the raid. You can legit just go and farm rogues for more.
The whole point of everyone playing at wipe is that early wipe is more fun why would you want to skip it ... i think level 2 or 3 traders should be locked for the first month
Yeah I think some time locked parts of the wipe would be good for the game, it would allow a sort of tech tree to open up throughout the wipe. Really all this game needs now is its end mission to escape to give everyone an end goal as I imagine late wipe would have more people around, not that raids are dead currently since this game has a large player base but I can see some people stopping mid wipe for various reasons.

Considering the time required to do this and the fact that you aren't progressing quests at all, I'd say this is fine and is just an easier alternative to getting flea than playing the base game. You can get to lvl 17 in less time and also have quest and hideout progress, but it's harder to do than if you used arena.
How does this kill it? Barely anyone who plays Tarkov plays arena, out of the 10 people I play with zero play arena. There is no way in hell this takes enough players away from main game that you would even notice a difference.
they could just make the item and ruble transfer a hideout upgrade. until then the progression would be separate aside from skills and level. eod owners will get a better advantage being able to level up fast and have the rep to access lvl2 traders, but its still dependent on rubles spent, so maybe they could increase how much trading you would have to do
yes and also no. it helps people who have to work 8 to 10 hours a day and only have 4 hours max of free time. On the other hand, it causes people who only own Tarkov to be at a major disadvantage and it will cause them to buy Arena. But at the same time, people working a full-time job could afford this extra add-on if it saves them Time. Because as we get older Time becomes more imported than money.
There is no disadvantage, leveling in Tarkov is just better in every way, especially time. Arena is just more fun to play than the early game quests, that's it.
as I recall, the arena is sold separately. I'm not saying "pay to win" but... it would be a lot easier for them to just make people want to play arena.. or even make it free to play with cosmetics.. so that people actually play it. don't bait them in with rewards
I see no reason to change this, I think it's okay. Exactly as you've said it will literally only matter for day 1 and it puts you at the time deficit of not getting any of your questing done and being generally delayed in that regard. Also late starts you on things like the hideout.
I haven't played or kept up with Tarkov for a couple of years and forgive me if I missed it in the video but how are you gonna have level 2 traders without doing quests? Can you level traders in Arena too or what? IDK anything abt Arena btw...
Actually, I think this is a good functionality, being able to level without having to kill 200 scavs, better to level by killing pmcs in arena, more fun

having level 2 traders and flea on first day of wipe is also very easy, I dont see a problem with people who want to have some more fun instead of grinding the same quests for the 12th time keeping up to people who prefer to play tarkov, I personally will playu a mix of both, unless untill super passive gamestyle is nerfed in the main game
I mean its very easy if you're above average in the game and have no job. Which most people aren't. Anyone I've played with, I think the fastest they've unlocked flea AND lvl 2 traders was like, 5 days? but the was no lifeing, 5-10+ hours a day bcz he lost his job gaming.

And even then isn't it better? If you had a way for players who are a bit worse to catch up? It depends on the gamestyle, if you sit in a bush with salewas you won't get it done, if you learn pvp and minmax tasks with friends its fast

Mid or late ,I can see someone unlocking it if they played allll day for 1-2 days, since they'd be getting plenty of xp and gear off of the people who've been playing since the start (bcz all ya gotta do is just shoot em in the face nufsed its easy) , you can easily get to quest areas without running into all of china. But on Day 1, i just don't see it. especially with out buggy day 1 is also, the crazy as hell matching times too bcz they're always long on the first day. unless you're playing ALL day, yeah nah. I have friends that literally have no jobs and play tarky all day on the first day,and it takes them a few days to get to lvl 15.

The fact that we can compete with people who no life the game without needing to no life ourselves is the best they can do. No brains and tactics are the deciders of victory rather than segregation of gear
This is obviously tedious topic and will probably need some tweaking done, but here is a food for thought: The thought BSG has is clearly for both to be played in tandem, but my biggest concern I believe is pressing is that Arena has more benefit 'waterfalling' into EFT than EFT has into Arena. Your Arena character doesn't gain much from a lot of EFT gameplay, whereas those skills and levels gained from Arena are going to play a large part in the EFT character experience. I like the idea of syncing the accounts/characters but it doesn't seem quite right for one to so heavily benefit than the other, especially in such 'little' time. So, while EFT time sinkers do have the benefits of getting trader rep, tasks, gear and other things wrapped up, there is no real benefit to Arena. Whereas Arena players are not only progressing IN Arena, but also slightly in EFT. Perhaps that's the intention, but as someone who enjoys both games, I think it odd that only one 'trickles down' into other. As is, I think the leveling rate could be slowed by maybe 10-20% while I think skill leveling rate is fine. Beyond that, those are my only thoughts. Hopefully my wall of text is remotely insightful!
I agree that early-wipe gameplay is fun, but that's mostly because people don't have access to flea market. Flea market sucks the fun out of late-game. Everything is so easy to get and money is worthless. If everything is worthless, people don't care about dying. FEAR and ADRENALINE is what makes tarkov fun.
It probably does need to be toned down a little bit but when you consider that most of the big streamers, hyper rat or landmark our level 29+ by the end of their first day, I don’t think it’s an issue at least not 12 throw a big temper tantrum about
What if we gain these normal amounts of EXP and Money for the first couple of games and then after these said games the EXP tapers off hard so we are unable to breeze through the early game wipe. BUT we can let the people who only play for a couple of hours to get something out of their time before bed and dont feel like they are wasting their time. Questing is still important in main game and they should lock the flea behind something so people cant just rush 15 and be gods. Flea should not allow the game to become end game as soon as you hit it, and it will take time to figure it out. But I also want a good early wipe this August. BSG has time to get this iron out.
people who play arena heavy will be higher levels but with less access to guns and attachments people who play main game with have more guns/armor/attachments it will balance out
im sure they are going to have to tweak the money/exp amounts, but i think its great. i dont care to play tarkov solo without my friends, so now i have a mode i can play and still be productive while waiting for them to hop on and quest together. and tis going to be a good way to level some skill that are annoying to level in main tarkov. and possoble sidenote, if money is transferable maybe people wont feel the need to buy money irl (RMT) as much and do naked loot runs.

honestly see nothing wrong with this… It’s really only going to benefit casual players. Sweats will still smash out lvl 2 traders and flea within a few hours on wipe on main and it kinda makes sense in the story. You’re a pmc in tarkov… there’s posters around the place for an “Arena”, so instead of “livin off the land” you “live off the fight”.
This is only a thing for EOD and Unheard Players. Lots of standard accounts out there who don’t pay extra for Arena because they are not interested in arena. I also have heard from quite a lot of EOd holders they didn’t even touched Arena once. Just like me. Arena isn’t Tarkov for us that don’t play Arena and having another game have influence on the base game in anyway and then not even for everyone is just dumb in my opinion. I play since Alpha times and the next wipe sounds like will be the worst they ever did with removing FIR from flea and now this. Also can’t wait for them to start selling GP coins for real money. I mean it’s purpose is just that in contract wars.
I think we should be able to do this i think this is fine, also in 7 hours maybe even 9 if you dont win much is allot of time for the avg daily gamer most avg people can get 2 to 4 hours if they are lucky, and that means any where from 2 to 4 days and so its not that broken it just helps casual players out and im all for that....I how ever will be going in 11 hrs a day amd trying to start my first raids at level 30 or 40 lol
I think this is a great way to unlock the flea as fast as possible which is where the game really opens up. That being said, if this is possible in the first day of wipe, then why even have a flea market limit to begin with.
I don't think it's a bad thing. You would still be playing the game in arena. when it comes to first day of wipe You would be falling behind in task items,keys etc
Still dont think traders should be as good as they are. They should have lvl 2 and the flea locked for the first week or 2 of wipe it would make early wipe so much more intresting and would slow down some of the crazy griders

No raids, just 10 hours in arena lmao. If you do quests 10 hours will have at least lv15 with a LOT more cash from random shit you find in raid. Also, there is no guarantee arena will be queue free and not down on the wipe, same as the main game. I guess it's a nice alternative for people who can stand playing it, but i dont really see it as some kind of an overpowered strat.
gives ppl options for different play styles. be annoying to grind ur pmc just to have a buddy ask u to join in a raid and have a fresh lvl 0 character again. Id say the money and what not might be a stretch tho, Perhaps areas has its own currency that trades for tarkov money with a hefty exchange rate or fee. I havnt played area so im not to familiar with it but COD ( Not a fan boy at fkin all) did this with DMZ and quickplay, being able to lvl up character and gear. Nobody had any complaints about it. I ONLY like to hunt with a sniper vs hip firing around every corner so using quickplay to get to the gear i wanna be with was nice and kept me playin. otherwise i would have got board using all the stuff i dont like just to get where i wanted

Really all this game needs now is its end mission to escape to give everyone an end goal as I imagine late wipe would have more people around, not that raids are dead currently since this game has a large player base but I can see some people stopping mid wipe for various reasons.
This could be offset by having arena wipe 2 weeks after the main game wipes so that it’s a more level playing ground for the first weeks at least
Arena leveling is literally worse than leveling in Tarkov, it's not only slower but also you aren't doing any quests.
After hearing about the new factory they plan on doing they need to bring the og factory to arena and put that into rotation
They need to just bring the base game maps to arena in general. There are a bunch of spots that would make good maps but we only have woods in Arena.

@@Equinsu0cha Exactly you are 100% right. Its fine to practice the combat in Arena but the major advantage in Tarkov is positioning and you only learn that from playing on the actual maps.
Considering the time required to do this and the fact that you aren't progressing quests at all, I'd say this is fine and is just an easier alternative to getting flea than playing the base game. You can get to lvl 17 in less time and also have quest and hideout progress, but it's harder to do than if you used arena.

How does this kill it? Barely anyone who plays Tarkov plays arena, out of the 10 people I play with zero play arena. There is no way in hell this takes enough players away from main game that you would even notice a difference.
I think more people will play arena now for at least 1 or 2 days to power level to traders
they could just make the item and ruble transfer a hideout upgrade. until then the progression would be separate aside from skills and level. eod owners will get a better advantage being able to level up fast and have the rep to access lvl2 traders, but its still dependent on rubles spent, so maybe they could increase how much trading you would have to do
So its the same amount of time for the same amount/less progress just a different way. Seems good for those who enjoy Arena and for casuals.
yes and also no. it helps people who have to work 8 to 10 hours a day and only have 4 hours max of free time. On the other hand, it causes people who only own Tarkov to be at a major disadvantage and it will cause them to buy Arena. But at the same time, people working a full-time job could afford this extra add-on if it saves them Time. Because as we get older Time becomes more imported than money.
There is no disadvantage, leveling in Tarkov is just better in every way, especially time. Arena is just more fun to play than the early game quests, that's it.
I mean, all you’re doing is leveling and unlocking traders. You’ll still have to do quests for the unlocks. I don’t think it’s that bad

as I recall, the arena is sold separately.
I'm not saying "pay to win" but... it would be a lot easier for them to just make people want to play arena.. or even make it free to play with cosmetics.. so that people actually play it. don't bait them in with rewards
I thought this would be the case, arena skill level cap is 30? So does that mean you can start a fresh wipe with skills already at level 30?

I see no reason to change this, I think it's okay. Exactly as you've said it will literally only matter for day 1 and it puts you at the time deficit of not getting any of your questing done and being generally delayed in that regard. Also late starts you on things like the hideout.
My level on Arena is not the same as my EFT base game level.
It's a bug, same to me. My stats did sync and they did add up, I gained several levels in endurance.
it has to be a new account though right? because my arena char doesnt have the same level as my PMC although it still has the skills from the PMC
theyre probably gonna add level limits before you can send over stuff I bet just for this

Assuming you have EOD which comes with the requisite trader reputation by default.
Actually, I think this is a good functionality, being able to level without having to kill 200 scavs, better to level by killing pmcs in arena, more fun
I don't really mind having a crossover between games so much but they have to wipe at the same time.
I'm still at different levels in both games, I'm wondering if I need to do something to link them, or if they need to be the same for them to affect one another

My levels aren’t synced either, sadly. Any EXP I earn in Arena does not transfer to my character in the main game.

I remember waiting in a customs queue on wipe day a couple wipes ago with a 3 man for 48+ mins before eventually being dc'd so I think i'll choose to avoid the wipe day queues.
Thing is, what makes a game good is different ways to progress in a game, but it has to be balanced.

I’m having the same problem. I have played 10-20 Arena matches and no EXP transferred to the main game.
having level 2 traders and flea on first day of wipe is also very easy, I dont see a problem with people who want to have some more fun instead of grinding the same quests for the 12th time keeping up to people who prefer to play tarkov, I personally will playu a mix of both, unless untill super passive gamestyle is nerfed in the main game
I mean its very easy if you're above average in the game and have no job. Which most people aren't. Anyone I've played with, I think the fastest they've unlocked flea AND lvl 2 traders was like, 5 days? but the was no lifeing, 5-10+ hours a day bcz he lost his job gaming.
@@VexingWeeb I literally work a 9 to 5, but if you have more time to play its obvious you will get it faster, I do it fast because me and my friends have been playing the game for a long time, we get the tasks we did several times before done quickly, depending on the day its possible to get flea quite fast, maybe not all lvl 2 traders because ragman mechanic etc but decent level. And even then isn't it better? If you had a way for players who are a bit worse to catch up? It depends on the gamestyle, if you sit in a bush with salewas you won't get it done, if you learn pvp and minmax tasks with friends its fast
@@fmlotek407 learning PvP is whatever, minmax tasks is obnoxious but idk anyone personally who gets all traders in a single day unless they're a streamer or insanely lucky,winning and getting out of every single raid, which is unlikely since everyone is running to the same place at the same time which is what makes it annoying af to do your tasks in the beginning. Mid or late ,I can see someone unlocking it if they played allll day for 1-2 days, since they'd be getting plenty of xp and gear off of the people who've been playing since the start (bcz all ya gotta do is just shoot em in the face nufsed its easy) , you can easily get to quest areas without running into all of china. But on Day 1, i just don't see it. especially with out buggy day 1 is also, the crazy as hell matching times too bcz they're always long on the first day. unless you're playing ALL day, yeah nah. I have friends that literally have no jobs and play tarky all day on the first day,and it takes them a few days to get to lvl 15.

This is awesome! I’m so happy that I don’t have to grind 2 weeks straight and lose my job in order to enjoy a fucking GAME. The fact that we can compete with people who no life the game without needing to no life ourselves is the best they can do. No brains and tactics are the deciders of victory rather than segregation of gear
This is obviously tedious topic and will probably need some tweaking done, but here is a food for thought:
The thought BSG has is clearly for both to be played in tandem, but my biggest concern I believe is pressing is that Arena has more benefit 'waterfalling' into EFT than EFT has into Arena. Your Arena character doesn't gain much from a lot of EFT gameplay, whereas those skills and levels gained from Arena are going to play a large part in the EFT character experience.
I like the idea of syncing the accounts/characters but it doesn't seem quite right for one to so heavily benefit than the other, especially in such 'little' time.
So, while EFT time sinkers do have the benefits of getting trader rep, tasks, gear and other things wrapped up, there is no real benefit to Arena. Whereas Arena players are not only progressing IN Arena, but also slightly in EFT.
Perhaps that's the intention, but as someone who enjoys both games, I think it odd that only one 'trickles down' into other.
As is, I think the leveling rate could be slowed by maybe 10-20% while I think skill leveling rate is fine.
Beyond that, those are my only thoughts.

I leveled up in Arena but when I opened EFT I was at the same level I was. Why is that so?

I agree that early-wipe gameplay is fun, but that's mostly because people don't have access to flea market. Flea market sucks the fun out of late-game. Everything is so easy to get and money is worthless. If everything is worthless, people don't care about dying. FEAR and ADRENALINE is what makes tarkov fun.
It probably does need to be toned down a little bit but when you consider that most of the big streamers, hyper rat or landmark our level 29+ by the end of their first day, I don’t think it’s an issue at least not 12 throw a big temper tantrum about
I don't know if it's me but XP are transferring from Arena to EFT but not the other way around, is it a bug?
im level 10 in arena and im level 1 in the base EFT game?
What if we gain these normal amounts of EXP and Money for the first couple of games and then after these said games the EXP tapers off hard so we are unable to breeze through the early game wipe. BUT we can let the people who only play for a couple of hours to get something out of their time before bed and dont feel like they are wasting their time. Questing is still important in main game and they should lock the flea behind something so people cant just rush 15 and be gods. Flea should not allow the game to become end game as soon as you hit it, and it will take time to figure it out. But I also want a good early wipe this August. BSG has time to get this iron out.
people who play arena heavy will be higher levels but with less access to guns and attachments people who play main game with have more guns/armor/attachments it will balance out
I guess the only ''issue'' here is that the early wipe will be even more shorter than ever
im sure they are going to have to tweak the money/exp amounts, but i think its great. i dont care to play tarkov solo without my friends, so now i have a mode i can play and still be productive while waiting for them to hop on and quest together. and tis going to be a good way to level some skill that are annoying to level in main tarkov. and possoble sidenote, if money is transferable maybe people wont feel the need to buy money irl (RMT) as much and do naked loot runs.

honestly see nothing wrong with this… It’s really only going to benefit casual players. Sweats will still smash out lvl 2 traders and flea within a few hours on wipe on main and it kinda makes sense in the story. You’re a pmc in tarkov… there’s posters around the place for an “Arena”, so instead of “livin off the land” you “live off the fight”.
This is only a thing for EOD and Unheard Players. Lots of standard accounts out there who don’t pay extra for Arena because they are not interested in arena. I also have heard from quite a lot of EOd holders they didn’t even touched Arena once. Just like me. Arena isn’t Tarkov for us that don’t play Arena and having another game have influence on the base game in anyway and then not even for everyone is just dumb in my opinion. I play since Alpha times and the next wipe sounds like will be the worst they ever did with removing FIR from flea and now this. Also can’t wait for them to start selling GP coins for real money. I mean it’s purpose is just that in contract wars.

I think we should be able to do this i think this is fine, also in 7 hours maybe even 9 if you dont win much is allot of time for the avg daily gamer most avg people can get 2 to 4 hours if they are lucky, and that means any where from 2 to 4 days and so its not that broken it just helps casual players out and im all for that....I how ever will be going in 11 hrs a day amd trying to start my first raids at level 30 or 40 lol
I think this is a great way to unlock the flea as fast as possible which is where the game really opens up. That being said, if this is possible in the first day of wipe, then why even have a flea market limit to begin with.
I don't think it's a bad thing. You would still be playing the game in arena. when it comes to first day of wipe You would be falling behind in task items,keys etc

Still dont think traders should be as good as they are. They should have lvl 2 and the flea locked for the first week or 2 of wipe it would make early wipe so much more intresting and would slow down some of the crazy griders
Timegating people that play a lot just causes them to do all the content and stop playing the game, until the next part of content unlocks.
So i think all this stuff is fine the only concern i have is how much money you have i feel like that nerfs gear fear way too much. Other than that i welcome the variety in weapons from level 2 and flea early wipe
Maybe the whole arena - EFT linkage should be somehow unlocked in EFT or disabled till lets say 30th day of the fresh wipe
No raids, just 10 hours in arena lmao. If you do quests 10 hours will have at least lv15 with a LOT more cash from random shit you find in raid.
Also, there is no guarantee arena will be queue free and not down on the wipe, same as the main game.
I guess it's a nice alternative for people who can stand playing it, but i dont really see it as some kind of an overpowered strat.

I think you should be able to gain xp for your main character once you unlock ref. Would make narrative and balance sense.
The progression was already hard enough to balance and fine tune, now it's all a mess. I hate this change.
gives ppl options for different play styles. be annoying to grind ur pmc just to have a buddy ask u to join in a raid and have a fresh lvl 0 character again. Id say the money and what not might be a stretch tho, Perhaps areas has its own currency that trades for tarkov money with a hefty exchange rate or fee.
I havnt played area so im not to familiar with it but COD ( Not a fan boy at fkin all) did this with DMZ and quickplay, being able to lvl up character and gear. Nobody had any complaints about it. I ONLY like to hunt with a sniper vs hip firing around every corner so using quickplay to get to the gear i wanna be with was nice and kept me playin. otherwise i would have got board using all the stuff i dont like just to get where i wanted

For me connecting progress from the main game and arena is a bad decision. Not everyone will play arena.
Sure why not, its fine. If you were to spend that time in EFT you would have tasks done, more roubles earned.
