What GT7 VR2 needs is the option for full on virtual cockpits. Imagine using the 2 controllers to grip the steering wheel, shift gears (or flick paddles) pull up the hand break, switch the hazards on and flip off racers as you pass. Maybe in the future they’ll also let us open our car doors and have fist fights with the rear ending opponents at the first chicane of monza.

I've did there same experiment. I've started with VR and my results were around 1:20-1:21. Then I've started to play without VR and have improved to 1:19.5 and was not able to do better anymore for an hour. Then I've switched back to VR and was showing better results and ended with 1:17.7. Without VR it was easier to do progress at the beginning as from cockpit when in VR (specifically in this car) you have not so good observability. Moreover, in VR you get tired sooner. But after reaching my limits without VR, switching to VR allowed me to sense speed better, feel corners, feel distances better, allowed me to be more precise. So, for my case VR worked better for lap times

@@quincyiersel7951 "is this car worth it?" "Nope, i can't drive it".
It's 100% worth it if you are not a weak noodle man.
Joking aside, VR sickness is more about you being less smart and your brain having trouble adapting.
It goes away over time because you start to realize that it's not real and have a disconnect between game and reality.
Your brain has low adaptability and thinks the things happening in VR happen in reality as well, but they don't, so you feel dizzy and nauseous.
Heard about this from a recent study.
Also I heard from a mom that never played videogames and started playing VR, she got over by literally learning to crawl before standingx like a lil baby that needs to adapt the brain to the motor functions.
You start by playing on the ground so you have the biggest disconnect you can have between game and reality. Over time you go sitting and then standing.
By that time your tiny caveman monkey brain should have realized that the game is not real and the body will stop reacting to things that aren't happening to you in reality but in the game.
I played hundreds of hours since I got psvr2 and it's my first VR experience.
Literally the only problem Ive had was taking the first steps with a joystick. I would get some minor dizziness for 2 seconds as my brain thought I was falling or something.
Played 2 hours the first time input on the headset with full locomotion.
2nd day i played for 3 hours straight without realizing.
Had a bit of a feeling of falling when moving vertically, like the roller coaster in switchback or when actually falling in resident evil 8.
That's it. But I'm high IQ, with great scores in adaptability and logic.

PSVR 2 is absolutely faster and more consistent but it does take some adjustment. If you play for years on flat screen, you obviously are used to all the cues of that view and they are different to the ones in VR. You're comparing thousands of hours of experience to dozens here LOL
Especially when trying a new car/track combo, you're instantly faster on the first laps because of the better depth perception of VR. If you actually stick with it, your potential is so much higher for the same reason.

Here is the thing about VR (that applies to all games, genres): Developers have this grand vision where everybody is logged in to VR wearing headsets and full-body haptic suits like Ready Player 1... But the reality is VR makes a lot of people physically ill. This, alone, makes VR a niche format for games. It may be the most immersive, but it's not universal as flat gaming, for obvious reasons. In other words, just because VR may be the best way to experience a game doesn't mean it's the most accessible, or desirable ironically.

I have a question before i begin i would like to say that i know its down to personal taste which view you have or use when playing !! However why in most esports competitions do they allow bonnet view ?? when the game makers /publishers state that gran tourismo is the best car driving simulator so if it is then why do they allow bonnet cam view? becuse if its a simulator then they should make it the rule that only cockpit view shud be used because that view is far more realistic its like the wrc generations game again proclaims to be a rally driving simulator but in there esports competition most participant's use the bonnet cam view since when does a real wrc driver sit in the middle of the car and look out over the centre of the bonnet ? they dont they sit on the left hand side ? so really these competitions are really just arcade style competitions !! and i find that cockpit view is much harder than bonnet view . Also Bonnet view does give you the edge over cock pit view as you can see more of the track or rally stage therefore you will be much quicker in bonnet cam view . I found this on the wrc generations game ive been doing the league trials where if you finish high enough in the league you progress up in to the professional league and legends league so i started off in the bottom rookie league and did ok in cock pit view and consistently finished first or in the top 3 untill that is i got further up the league tables and found my stage times way behind some 1 0r 2 minutes untill i realised the others were obviously using bonnet view so i started using that view and hey ho yesterday came first in one of the daily stages ? But However this just spoils it for me personally as its not realistic and just arcadey i prefer realism and want to use cockpit view only but if i do then im at a great disadvantage so i think the game developers should take this into account when making these leagues so you should have these competitions for bonnet view users then ones for cockpit view users !! but as i say its down to each persons individual taste or maybe they cant handle or drive in real simulation ? so have to play the arcadey bonnet view ???

Its unfair comparison. You been playing on screen how many years? And how long on that HUD camera view? Now you switch to in car cam view which is different by itself, and then you add on the totally new VR instead of conventional screen. Obviously you will be slower isn't it? Give it the same bloody time you spent playing on the screen with VR, and then you conclude whether VR is slower or not.

The yellow point markers are where you should be aiming the car for the best racing mine. The red line break points show where you should start breaking - but as these are guides for n00bs only, they’re actually not great in a racing environment.

    • @OrangeSunshine15
      @OrangeSunshine15 11 месяцев назад

@@WanderFeetChronicles The yellow markers are your corner indicators. If you turn in at the marker, you will probably get the best line out of a corner. Brake indicator (red ones) are faulty & you should find a marker on track to brake than rely upon the red bars. ✌️
