I have always love the hair when you can’t see the scalp. I notices some thinning at the scalp and decided that I don’t want to ever retwist my hair. I’m starting today 25 April 2022. I hope I can reverse the thinning. Thank you so much for your videos.🦋💕
Yasss Yasss..... Finally a South African deadlocked babe on RUclips to help us 💃🏾💃🏾 ❤️❤️ I've been looking for someone from SA to give us tips because Americans hair texture isn't the same as ours 💃🏾❤️🥰 *subscribed*
Try using jojoba oil on your scalp to tame dandruff.... I also use aloe juice for moisture.... Jojoba has worked for me and my daughter as far as taming dandruff❤️
New subscriber here😊 I too have low porosity hair. I learned during the first 4 -5 months of my loc journey that applying oil with a squeeze bottle puts too much oil on my scalp which resulted in itching. I use so much less now and only apply it with my fingertips and palms.
New to the family - I’m loving everything so far. I’ve been doing my own locs for 12 years (from the beginning).... I am really interesting in learning new and exciting skills to ensure my locs keep healthy and beautiful 💗
When she said, “our low porosity hair ain’t tryna do shit,” I felt that in my soul. My hair half the time is like, “water?! What the hell do you want me to do with that???”
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Right Low Porosity Hair Locks the door on letting moisture in. Got to remove the hinges to get the moisture in!!! I have my steamer ready for when I loc my hair.
Hi! I locked my hair a year ago and is struggling to get the right product for my hair. As a result I have dry looking locks mind you I spend time moisturizing my hair with the products I have atm. I'm new and it's a pleasure.
Question! Pardon if you’ve already answered it. Do you moisturize the shaft of the hair with the same mixture and sealant as the roots?also do you rub into the scalp as well? Thank you! New subbie here ❤️
I really enjoyed the information you provide. One point, you kept taking about 'ethnic' hair, I assume you meant African/Caribbean hair. Every single person (no the colour of their skin), belongs to an ethnic group. So ethnic hair is not an appropriate phrase.
I love your loc content💕 I’ve been wanting to incorporate such content in my channel but I couldn’t really find a lot of SA RUclipsrs that focus on their locs, so Huge Shout Out 💕💕
Hi, I am 7 months locked and am struggling with moisture but am definitely trying your aloe vera juice. I am using grapeseed oil as a sealant but don't like the smell,. Do you have alternative sealant oil I can use instead of grapeseed oil?
msmacthankQ yes I do! I don’t really have a reason why.... it’s just one of those things one ends up doing. To melt coconut I’d recommend putting your bottle on a plate over steam. If you hear it in the microwave or put it directly in hot water it’s going to melt the spray bottle as well! I learned the hard way
Thank you! It’s a Spathiphyllum (Peace Lily) and yes very, mine has a self watering mechanism, so all I have to do is pour water in the outer container and the plant draws it’s own using a string
2 - 3 times a week, but I pay attention to my hair, so when it’s feeling dry I break my schedule! The key is once you’ve found the cadence that your hair is happy with, to be consistent and your hair will eventually give in to the routine
Hey hey! This is a perfect youtube video idea! But long story short, I do my hair myself, I try avoid going to the salon as much as possible. I haven’t quite found my person, you know what I mean?
The natural hair community is in dispute with the value and benefit they’ve marketed coconut oil to have on natural hair. My advice is to listen to your hair and give it the love it requires.
Wow! Your hair looks to be 4c with low porosity. Your hair issue is putting in the moisture. My hair issue is keeping it in. My hair before coloring has always accepted moisture quite easily but it also gets dry quickly.
Hey hey! I had just done a hot oil massage treatment and didn’t clarify my hair and scalp when I washed my hair. I know it’s a stretch but if I added more products on my scalp my face would breakout within the week😩. I’m still trying to balance it all out! Let me know if you’d like to see a video on how I pamper my scalp!
So glad to finally see a South African RUclipsr with loc content 😩♥️♥️♥️

Hey! Look our hair has its own personality! It’s so demanding
That is why I just decided to loc my hair! The twist outs/braid outs never lasted longer than 30minutes😄.
So I locd 🤷🏽♀️
Janey_oge so true! It’s all so overrated
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Right Low Porosity Hair Locks the door on letting moisture in. Got to remove the hinges to get the moisture in!!! I have my steamer ready for when I loc my hair.
I finally found a South African loc youtuber, wow I am really really relieved 😅
OMG who are you! How come you’re just now popping up in my recommendations? I really like your video. I’m looking forward to seeing more🥰
Thank you so much! You know this algorithm is naughty! I’m grateful to have your viewership
I've been looking for SAn locs YTers. I'm so glad I found you, just subscribed
Thank you so much for joining the family
Me too

Hey hey! You have come to the right place! We’ll figure it out together! What are you using?
@@MissKobeli For moisturizing I use the African roots hair tonic, African roots oil moisturizer and a few oils that I occasionally use.
I also use rose water to spray my hair.
Rosie Rose hey hey! Just checking in. Have you tried my method? How is your hair doing?
I just started growing my locs about 2 or 3 months now. I'm trying to find out what's good for your edges.
Newbie, I’m so glad I found someone from SA with locs atleast I know I can the products that you mention, thank you
Hey hey! Thank you for subscribing! I know what you mean hey, there’s a lot more coming!
Blessings sis!! You have gorgeous locs!!❤️
there’s nothing “dreadful” about them🙏🏿 #noDREADlocs
I L❤️ve your method to moisturize your crown!!👑

New subscriber here. Love your content. 😊
Love seeing a fellow African with a loc channel
I really enjoyed the information you provide. One point, you kept taking about 'ethnic' hair, I assume you meant African/Caribbean hair. Every single person (no the colour of their skin), belongs to an ethnic group. So ethnic hair is not an appropriate phrase.
Also we are not 'ethnic people', we belong to an ethnic group.
Hi Carolyn thank you for this! You are absolutely correct on that, I’ll speak about hair types in future.
@@MissKobeli No problem thank you for your posts.
Thanks for sharing this information. I have Sisterlocks, but some of the same things are essential.
Thank you! It’s amazing how we are all different but the same! It’s something good to be mindful about all the time!
Thank you. Very informative, simple and fun delivery.
Love your content beauty! Do you put water in your spray bottle as well? Or just the products you mentioned
New subcriber here!! Love your content especially since I have locs as well.
My first time here, and I think I am gonna stick with you 😊 love you already.
Thank you so much! I’m honored to have you! ❤️
I love your loc content💕

Life with Siya thank you so much, looking forward to seeing your work as well!
Hi gal which products good on my rocks when am not retwisting please help
Helpful video. How often do you use this solution?
Love your locks...I still struggle to re-twist mine..how many do you have?
Hi, I am 7 months locked and am struggling with moisture but am definitely trying your aloe vera juice. I am using grapeseed oil as a sealant but don't like the smell,. Do you have alternative sealant oil I can use instead of grapeseed oil?
I’d suggest adding a scented essential oil to the grapeseed oil…lavender, peppermint etc
I relate Soo much to your videos and content😊😊
New subbie ❤️❤️
Thank you so much! I’m happy to have you
Wait a minute did you do the length of the loc???
New subscriber from Instagram 😍 Please share your washing routine. What kind of shampoo do you use? Three years loc’d 💕
Hey! Happy to have you...I use organics shampoo for dry hair
I enjoyed this video, I’d be interested in watching new tutorial videos from you.
Rukiya Anthony hey hi! I’m currently editing a new video! Should be up today
Great video. Do you keep your mixture in the fridge?
msmacthankQ yes I do! I don’t really have a reason why.... it’s just one of those things one ends up doing. To melt coconut I’d recommend putting your bottle on a plate over steam. If you hear it in the microwave or put it directly in hot water it’s going to melt the spray bottle as well! I learned the hard way
Thank you babes xx
Is it safe to use regular olive oil for cooking on locs
Newbie, hello hi your locs are gorgeous I'm glad I came across your you tube channel
Thank you for joining the family! I’m happy to have you!
Love your hair😍🥰...off topic but what is the name of that plant and is it low maintenance😄??
Thank you! It’s a Spathiphyllum (Peace Lily) and yes very, mine has a self watering mechanism, so all I have to do is pour water in the outer container and the plant draws it’s own using a string
This is very informative. New subscriber here.
Can I add rose water to the mixture
Oh yes totally
Your hair , your skin 😍😘🌹
Hi!! Do you know an online retailer for rose water and aloe vera juice in South Africa? Thanks!
Hey hey! I’m still on the lookout for rose water, but aloe vera juice is available on the Dischem and Clicks online store
I find my rose water at dischem
Look up "essentially natural" it's an online retailer they even have up to 5 litres of Rosewater that's where I get mine from
How often do you moisturize your hair??
2 - 3 times a week, but I pay attention to my hair, so when it’s feeling dry I break my schedule! The key is once you’ve found the cadence that your hair is happy with, to be consistent and your hair will eventually give in to the routine
Where do you buy essential oils? ❤️
Mine are from Dischem, you can try Clicks as well!
Did you melt the cocnut oil first and does it stay metled in the spray bottle?
Hey hey! Yes I did, it will solidify when cold so you’ll need to melt it each time you use the mixture
Your locs are gorgeous.
thank you
Love it thank you
Beautiful girl love your accent
Newbie, hey sis, where do you get the Aloe Vera juice?
Hey hey! Thank you for joining the family! I got it at Dischem
New subbie here! Tanki for showing tips
Hey hey! Iyoh I’ve never been so excited to see that word “Tanki”!
Thank you for joining the family
I love your name😁
Thank you for this 😁
Pleasure is all mine
What s your maintenance routine? Do do it yourself?
Hey hey! This is a perfect youtube video idea! But long story short, I do my hair myself, I try avoid going to the salon as much as possible. I haven’t quite found my person, you know what I mean?
@@MissKobeli 100% know what you mean. I also interlock myself. I'm 10 months in now and I'm loving it❤
Can I used castor oil and water only ?
Yes totally! Castor oil thickens hair...it’s quite rich though, I’d use it sparingly to avoid too oily hair
Coconut oil can be heavy on low porosity hair.
The natural hair community is in dispute with the value and benefit they’ve marketed coconut oil to have on natural hair. My advice is to listen to your hair and give it the love it requires.
New subie😍❤
Hello hi! Thank you for joining the family!

Thank you for this.💜🇰🇪
My absolute pleasure
Wow! Your hair looks to be 4c with low porosity. Your hair issue is putting in the moisture. My hair issue is keeping it in. My hair before coloring has always accepted moisture quite easily but it also gets dry quickly.
What are you currently using to lock the moisture in?
You’re gorgeous
Thank you
How old are your locs?
Hey hey i got implants/extensions! I’ve had them for 16months
Hello I see that you don't spray or moisture your scalp directly why is that?
Hey hey! I had just done a hot oil massage treatment and didn’t clarify my hair and scalp when I washed my hair. I know it’s a stretch but if I added more products on my scalp my face would breakout within the week😩. I’m still trying to balance it all out!
