One of the greatest musicians to have walked in this planet. What is more astonishing is the fact that he does not lose his singing chops with age. This man is an alien.
This is one of Stevie’s dopest songs. That bassline is so groovy and with the rhythm changes in the live performance, just makes it even better. He was always flanked by amazing musicians. He always allowed them to be themselves,to a limit. They never overplayed or overstepped
I love every era of Stevie. Aesthetically, the 80/90s braided/locs Stevie particularly hits home for me, because I was a small child in the late 80/early 90s and this "Hotter Than July" album was the first one my lifelong-fan dad introduced to us. One of many Stevie albums to come to know.
I was in 9th grade when this song was released. Immediately loved it and always pictured how wonderful it would be to hear this live and watch Stevie, all the musicians and back up singers do their thing. So thankful we can do this today. As soulful to me in 2022 than it was back then.
Live performance music videos are my favorite RUclips feature and this one is at the top. I love this, right down to little dance routine by the backup singers.
there is no one, or ever will be--like Stevie Wonder!!! amazing how he starts the tune with one clap of his hands, and the band is like right on the beat...tight !!!!
he is extraordinary, the fact he can not see makes me wonder how magnificent his music is, it shows the unfortunate enjoy life the same way we do and his loss of sight doesn't get in the way of what he was born to do..... Stevie is one of the greatest ever to live, long live him and music.
I have listened to and loved Stevie since I saw him play Fingertips on television way back when. He only became greater over the decades. One of my favorite cuts is Stevie playing Alfie on the chromatic. I am fortunate to have lived in a time with so many great musicians with so much soul.
Proud to have lived on this era on planet Earth, witnessed one the greatests of all time alongside Michael Jackson, James Brown, Freddy Mercury, David Bowie, Diana Ross, Gloria Gaynor, Donna Summer etc etc How lucky I feel
Alongside Robert Kelly, the Isley brothers and muddy waters. Also Mahalia Jackson, Donna summer, Patti Labelle Gladys Knight, Dionne Warrick Millie Jackson..,, the list goes on!
Once in a lifetime a phenomenon happens, this is one of those phenomenons, embrace because you will never see an artist like this again in our lifetime
Stevie Wonder wrote this song about Bob Marley. Both geniuses. Respect. So much love for Jamaica too! Would love to hear Rhianna or Sister Carol cover this song.
Everyone's feeling pretty It's hotter than July Though the world's full of problems They couldn't touch us even if they tried From the park I hear rhythms Marley's hot on the box Tonight there will be a party On the corner at the end of the block Didn't know you Would be jammin' until the break of dawn I bet nobody ever told you that you would be jammin' until the break of dawn You would be jammin' and jammin' and jammin', jam on They want us to join their fighting But our answer today Is to let all our worries Like the breeze through our fingers slip away Peace has come to Zimbabwe Third World's right on the one Now's the time for celebration 'Cause we've only just begun Didn't know that you Would be jammin' until the break of dawn Bet you nobody ever told you that you Would be jammin' until the break of dawn You would be jammin' and jammin' and jammin', jam on Bet you nobody ever told you that you (We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin') Would be jammin' until the break of dawn I know nobody told you that you (We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin') Would be jammin' until the break of dawn We're jammin', jammin', jammin', jam on You ask me am I happy Well as matter of fact I can say that I'm ecstatic 'Cause we all just made a pact We've agreed to get together Joined as children in Jah When you're moving in the positive Your destination is the brightest star You didn't know that you (We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin') Would be jammin' until the break of dawn I bet you nobody ever told you that you (We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin') Would be jammin' until the break of dawn Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, you (We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin') Would be jammin' until the break of dawn Don't you stop the music, oh no, (We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin') Na, na na... alright, this is amazing, stevie has such a great vibe whenever he plays, always puts on a great show, aside from that.....that drummer....and percussionist...enough said.
I got to be at one of Stevies rehersals in the early 70s. My friend and i were the only ones there besides the band. My aunt was his road managers girlfriend.
1995! Where did the last 24 years go to? One minute you're relatively young - the next you're retired. I hope Stevie eventually gets his much promised 'Through the Eyes of Wonder' album out.
sadly it is the unintended consequence of slavery. Blues originated amongst African Americans in the Deep South in the mid 1800s. which led to jazz and rhythm and blues and an unbelievable body of music.
🇦🇺I am so drawn to this song written and composed by one greatest most talented person ever walked on the face of the earth peace and Universal love to all ❤❤❤
It must be hard to be in his band. Since he is blind, he likely has fine-tuned his hearing and can detect any mistake his band mates make. You'd have to be a top-caliber player to be in his band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course he has fine-tuned hearing. That's not because he's blind, it's because he's a miraculously gifted musician. Try to listen to his songs, and listen to Every single instrument, how well that instruments music is written, and how well it fits with the rest of the band. That's his work. Same goes for Mozart, Beethoven and so on. It's musicality, not deafness
Re: Third Herd's comment All the great band leaders are like that. Prince, Miles Davis, James Brown, et cetera. Musicians aspire to play at such levels.
It has been so amazing his music definitely raised each and every one of my mother's. A king with such a wonderful personality and voice.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
wow no horns but still freggin cool because stevie shows how talented he is playing all those parts spot on ahhh so sick. going through a huge stevie binge
This song, apart from being sublime, is unique. It is rooted in reggae but quite different from standard reggae. Also very different from any other of Stevie's music, or anyone else's. That relentless, infectious beat is Stevie's and his alone. Maybe thats why it has been my favourite track of ALL music for so long.
God has truly blessed this wonderful human being. Stevie has set an example since the sixties as to how to live in harmony. What a damn shame that for 2.7 yrs under trump this great nation has drifted so far from the principles of it's founders it is sick!
One of the greatest musicians to have walked in this planet. What is more astonishing is the fact that he does not lose his singing chops with age. This man is an alien.

Great Stevie Wonder 👍👍
He seems like he had so much fun performing this song. That devious, mischievous smile though.
I love the little mischievous smile he gives when he says "...this is my house".
This dude WAS,IS,and WILL forever be AWESOME!!!!
Brilliant set of musicians collectively and individually. They give each other space but they don't give an inch.

Pure genius, and an absolute living legend.
I saw this when it was broadcast way back and broke down I'm happy to admit! In a good way !
My hero and idol Stevie Wonder aka THE God of ALL Music !!!
Everyone's feeling pretty
It's hotter than July
Though the world's full of problems
They couldn't touch us even if they tried
From the park I hear rhythms
Marley's hot on the box
Tonight there will be a party
On the corner at the end of the block
Didn't know you
Would be jammin' until the break of dawn
I bet nobody ever told you that you
would be jammin' until the break of dawn
You would be jammin' and jammin' and jammin', jam on
They want us to join their fighting
But our answer today
Is to let all our worries
Like the breeze through our fingers slip away
Peace has come to Zimbabwe
Third World's right on the one
Now's the time for celebration
'Cause we've only just begun
Didn't know that you
Would be jammin' until the break of dawn
Bet you nobody ever told you that you
Would be jammin' until the break of dawn
You would be jammin' and jammin' and jammin', jam on
Bet you nobody ever told you that you
(We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin')
Would be jammin' until the break of dawn
I know nobody told you that you
(We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin')
Would be jammin' until the break of dawn
We're jammin', jammin', jammin', jam on
You ask me am I happy
Well as matter of fact
I can say that I'm ecstatic
'Cause we all just made a pact
We've agreed to get together
Joined as children in Jah
When you're moving in the positive
Your destination is the brightest star
You didn't know that you
(We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin')
Would be jammin' until the break of dawn
I bet you nobody ever told you that you
(We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin')
Would be jammin' until the break of dawn
Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, you
(We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin')
Would be jammin' until the break of dawn
Don't you stop the music, oh no,
(We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin')
Na, na na...
(We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin')
Nobody told you Oh, Oh, Oh, you
(We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin')
Would be jammin' until the break of dawn
I bet you if someone approached you
(We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin')
yesterday to tell you that you would be jammin' you would not believe it because you never thought that you would be jammin'
Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh,
(We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin')
jammin' 'til the break of dawn
Oh, Oh, Oh, You may as well believe what you are feeling
(We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin')
because you feel your body jammin'
(We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin')
Oh, Oh, you would be jammin' until the break of dawn
(We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin')
(We're in the middle of the makin's of the master blaster jammin')
Stevie Wonder is a Healer.

Yeap
African Americans, are genius when it comes to making Music 🎵🎶 the music is so Compact, and I can hear the Jazzy feel,I just love Jazz.
