Jones: this is a .38 revolver.
Tackleberry: *Pulls out a portable Howitzer*
44 magnum is nothing. 500 magnum, thats is a howitzer
@@joshthestud got to agree.
A self-propelled howitzer is mounted on a tracked or wheeled motor vehicle.
I think the .44 magnum is in 5th place behind the S&W .500 , 480 RUGER, 454 Casull and the .50 cal action express.
@Mr. Cool The .454 Casull and .50 action express existed. Both were more powerful than the. 44 mag.
Tack's revolver is a Stainless Steel, Dan Wesson, .44 caliber, with a 10" barrel. The company made the gun's so the barrel could be removed and other lengths could be installed. It was quite an innovation.
you are saying that it can be longer?
@@sky3_ow Yes. They had a 12 inch barrel available for competitive target shooting. Depending on the model, many of their revolvers started with a 2" barrel option, increasing by 2 inch increments to 12". It might have been possible during that time to get longer ones if you talked to the manufacturer.
@vallejo 7 0 7 No, it is a Dan Wesson. No cylinder release behind the recoil shield rather it is on the crane.

on imfdb it says he carries a Smith & Wesson Model 629.
I love how in the German version Mrs. F says after the shot: "Now I can call Rambo my buddy"
yeah when Mrs. F says:"This suckers not loaded." in the german version Tackleberry answers:" Oh, you will be getting nuclear warheads Mrs. F"

RIP David Graf. Tackleberry is one of the most memorable characters of my youth.
Graf high tower Marion Ramsey the commander all gone! May they all rest in peace!
George gaynes lived to be almost 100 years old!. The WW2 generation of veterans really knew how to take care of themselves. Sad that Graf only lived half as long.
Marion Ramsey only passed away just last week. I may have to have a Police Academy binge watch soon
I thought he is still alive.
here here
Absolutely! It was sad that he left us so early!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏
Funny enough, Tackleberry is one of the few Gun Nut characters played realistically. He loves his guns, but he at least knows them well enough to know the safety rules.
yup, love tackeberry as a gun nut because hes not portrayed as a complete fuckwit with them
him and Burt Gummer in tremors
@@cgmsg1 Ya. Burt even checks the guns even when they're not loaded.
Also,he apparently loaded non explosive amminition this time :D

Billie Bird, one of the greatest 90's old lady actresses, always brings joy, laughter and happiness in her comedy roles... I must check out her acting from her younger days as well...
She was the Betty White of the 80s.
Other Police Officers: *Shoots small calibers to wound a criminal*
Officer Tackleberry: *What criminal? Or Elephant?*
When a police officer fires his service pistol he is implied deadly force. Doesn't matter if it's a Walter P.22 or a desert eagle. When he shoots he is using deadly force, you shoot to kill not to disarm.
@@MeanMachine4844 that is corrcet good job man.
Theres no such thing as shooting to wound :D They just need capacity in case theres more than one idiot trying to harm them. Anyway, in a self defense scenario the most important thing is shot placement, shot placement, shot placement....and a good lawyer.
You do not shoot to wound. You don't shoot to kill. You shoot to stop; permanently. That's what my CHL instructor told us. He also placed a can of tomatoes 25 yards downrange against a piece of plywood painted white. When he shot it and we approached it he said, "if you have to fully deploy your weapon, this is akin to what it will look like. But the odor will be intense; and unless you're a psycho, very repugnant.
700nitro semi auto pistols should be the new norm so it will be

Nahh my guy i want mine back
Nope
To this day, no one has seen or heard from Long Duck Dong since Grandma came back from the Academy. When asked, Grandma just smiles sweetly and says, "I loved that car."
Damn she's crazy
Yeah definitely the grandmother I had. I miss her🥲
her aim was deadly. Reminds me of the first time I went out target practice I kept aiming for the chest and kept landing nut shots. In my case it was a 1911 .45 ACP.
They call him, the nutcracker

Ahh you was pulling the trigger and not squeezing. Well more like Jerking the trigger a fitting term LOL
Well let's face it nailing a bad guy in the balls is definitely going to keep him from doing certain stuff for a very long time also he won't be making any kids!

Tackleberry is a legend. Sleep tight Mr Graf.
RIP. They had no hearing protection and shot a .44 magnum.
WHAT?
@Ian Hopkins really?
@@wolfganghuhn7747 EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
.357 is actually much worse. Something about the frequency it generates. .44 has more boom, but the .357 can damage eardrums indoors without hearing protection.

I actually binged all the Police Academy movies today.. I wanted to give it up during the fourth movie, figured that life was too short.
Michael Winslow was the only thing that kept me going.
Sargent tackleberry played a cop on an episode of Seinfeld.
Sargent is the name. Sergeant is the rank. Just remember most modern military ranks were borrowed from the French and so the more french spelling is used for the military rank.

Tackleberry and his hand cannon never gets old.

Can we please have a kid-friendly online multiplayer sandbox video game of Police Academy?? I think it would be so much fun to play with the original characters while making up some of your own. No blood or gore, just slapstick, rubber bullets, tasers, and tons of goofy chases, explosions and fist fights. Completely over the top, very comedic yet full of cool action and tons of places to go and vehicles to use on the road, in the water or in the sky. Man, that’d be so awesome!
You should watch Police Academy: The Animated Series, seriously it has all of that
😂😂😂😂😂😂 I love all the Police Academy movies execpt for the last two.
Lucky this is a movie, otherwise Tackleberry's boss would give him a real hard time for letting a trainee have his gun.
psssh...if you ever saw the series from the beginning and wrote down all the violations, you wouldn't enjoy a single moment of the films.
Why would they care about him giving the traine a go at firing his gun?
@@dddfccvvagentdi1775 Because a) his gun is not standard police issue and by the general rule not authorized to use it himself and b) a trainee that hasnt even held a proper gun, let alone fire it, can never be safe enough to use a firearm of such power.

I have a friend who is a real life exact example of Tackleberry. He is a special forces policeman, carries 3 guns on him, plus one small caliber single-shot gun inside his boot and a pen-gun in shirt pocket. Not joking.
Oof ther german synch is way funnier, I'm shocked. As example: As Mss F ended up in the trach b/c of the kickback in german synch she said: Woah now I can call buddy on Rambo. Or As Tackleberry is warning her about the kickback, he said in german: Be carefull a .44 mag can blast a walrus. :D
