No problem! I definitely love the ones I have in UP. And yes I’m pretty sure scaletrains was started by 2 guys who left Athearn. They’ve definitely been giving Athearn a run for their money but I think it’s made Athearn step their game up too I’m excited to see what the future releases look like.
Great review, I happen to have one of the "Legendary Liveries" ES44ACs in the Burlington Northern scheme, just like your BNSF unit it looks and sounds great! Take care!
I wish they would sell models like this just for display. I love the detail and would like to have a static display model. I don't need the internals though and don't want to spend the money on a working model.
Yeah I can’t blame you there! The only thing I could suggest is purchasing a DC only version but even those are a tad expensive for something to use as a display.
I have been looking for the scale trains version of this locomotive and can't find anything anywhere online. Have you had any luck looking for scale trains locomotives?
I don’t think a lot of online retailers or hobby shops in general carry scaletrains engines. Most of the ones I see for sale are on the HO scale for sale pages on Facebook, eBay, or directly from scaletrains website
If you like BNSF you got to have gevo's. Look at the Intermountain et44c4 t4 . Their pretty darn nice. Also the UP version. I like them better than the ST versions.
I usually order 2 of everything I get just with different road numbers. That way I have matching engines for longer freights and I can mix and match engines too if I wanted too.
Thanks for the review, I just ordered a UP version.👍👍👍
Did you know that the owner of Scaletrains worked at Athearn for about 7 years.

No kidding better than scaletrains eh? I’ll definitely have to look into them then!
Why did you decide to buy 2 of the same? Just curious
