I have one of these in the CN 100 anniversary scheme and I LOVE IT. I would definitely recommend these locomotives to someone modeling in the modern era. You guys did such a great job with this model, keep it up.
Guys - that is a work of ART!! I don't know what to say. SPINNING BEARING CAPS - on a HO locomotive?? OMG! I thought I'd never live long enough to see the day. It's almost a shame that I model the 70's..... I may want to get one - just for a shelf queen!
ScaleTrains.com Shane, you guys are really raising the bar! Any chance of something from 1965-75 coming down the pike..... Maybe a SD38? GP18? One the Paducah rebuilds?
I just pre-ordered one of the DC BNSF GEVO's. And I totally geeked out when he said "spinning bearing caps." I really hope it runs well with my Athearn Genisis SD70ACe's
I have seen GECX 2022 several times, when it was being tested a few years back on CSX in Ohio, I am planning to preorder this, and possibly the CN unit. Incredible job guys!
I saw these locomotives at the Pomona train show. Really impressive. I'll be adding a few of these to my layout. I also bought 12 of the Rivet Counter tank cars... really nice!! You guys got some nice products on the market and reasonably priced as well.
At last models with every detail and see through grills There is NO equal ..... scale Model trains are amazingly close to perfection.. I will be buying their Gevo and SD40-2
This is so amazing guys! I think you've pulled ahead of all the other manufacturers! I have to get one! I love all te road specific details and attention to detail as well as info you guys provide!
Oh boy , them look amazing ! ! Start putting out dash 9,s and Ac4400s and ES44s that have all the lighted number boards, ditch lights , and amazing detail, i think you have a home run line up that nobody could turn away. Great job on the models! !
Thank you so much +John Schmidt Jr. The DASH-9 and AC4400CW locomotives are definitely on our new model idea list. Even with all of the ES44s on the market, we've been receiving requests for them since the Tier 4 GEVo announcement. All of our Operator and Rivet Counter locomotives feature lighted LED number boards and head lights. Rivet Counter models include operating LED ditch lights when appropriate too. We are including operating LED ditch lights on the Operator Tier 4 GEVo as well. Shane
Wow, I was told about this from a friend and I just can't stop saying WOW! I model in O and G scales but this is some model.. Keep up the good work and I know you guys will make the HO scale modelers very happy!
Thank you +ironmatic 1. While it's unlikely we'll offer the (Tier 3) SD70ACe, we are interested in the SD70ACe-T4. So far, only UP has taken delivery of production units. Once more railroads do, we may move forward with the project. Shane
Yep, can't wait for my CN sisters to come from my pre-order. Shane, can you address the possibility of pre or post detailing an "occupied" cab? The one thing I like about the Athearn Genesis SD70s are the ability to "man" the cab.
You have hit a home run with this one. The detail that is on this GEVO up to now would only be seen on a brass model. Well done! Any chance of a late model AC4400? Thanks.
The detail is incredible and is by far one of the nicest looking locomotives I’ve seen. My biggest concern is can the ugly couplers that Scaletrain uses be replaced with a standard Kadee coupler (like what InterMountain uses) and are you able to control the coupler with a DCC controller (couple and uncouple with a DCC controller?). I’ve seen no mention of this feature and haven’t seen any videos of being able to replace the coupler with a Kadee coupler and haven’t seen any videos on whether you can couple/uncouple using a DCC controller. Please post some updated videos or please let us know in the comments if you can replace the couplers with Kadee couplers and of these couplers can be controlled with a DCC controller.
Scale Trains will be the T 4 units that will be pulling the freight from Chicago and Detroit on my Grand Rapids Subdivision. Sorry Intermountain your horn still sounds weird needs a cough drop 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Fantastic model! I'll get one of the CN, the #3104 with LokSound, once available. All the webpage shows is "Summer 2017". Does anyone know of a more precise date?ALSO, if the name ET44 was part of the description some of us may have found this great video many months ago!!! I has no idea Scale Trains was even offering an ET44 until a hobby shop told me to check it out as the other offering was far from ready.
+chrislef2002 our Product Development Manager will be traveling to our factory in China the first week of April. After his visit, we'll be able to share a more definite timeframe than "Summer 2017". We will definitely deliver this summer. Thanks for the suggestions about the model designation. We added ET44AH, ET44C4, ET44AC, and C45AH to the product tags. We'd encourage you to place a preorder. We anticipate selling out shortly after delivery. Shane
Sweet!I love these Loco's,The detail is outstanding!I've got 4 of these pre-ordered already...Can't wait.Any chance of producing some earlier GE stuff?Like the GE AC44000?or the GE C40-8CW?
Are you sure you guys are the first?intermountain announced theirs months ago. Anyway, the detail on these models is incredible! Can't believe the detail you can fit in such small spaces. Incredible job guys! Will you be making another video like this with the other road names? I really liked the back story and close up's with commentary! Keep it up guys! -JG
jjgravy they're not the first to announce it, as you said intermountain did, but if you know intermountain, those locomotives may not be out until two years because their GP10 had been on standstill for the past 4 years.
We're sure we're the first company to show operating, fully assembled, painted and decorated HO scale models of the Tier 4 GEVO. Thanks for the compliments. We just received the other roadnames this week and will be shooting additional videos as time allows. We're a small crew and our travel schedule is very busy through March. Shane
Outstanding models. Already purchased a few for myself. Will the NS versions have white numberboards with black numbers like the prototypes? As far as I can see, the pictures on your website have them with black numberboards and white numbers.
+Royal Hudson Rail Videos the first samples we receive are for "proof of concept" so we can ensure the correct parts are on the model, confirm printing and lettering, paint color, etc. The NS models have the incorrect number boards. Production models will have a white background with black letters. Shane
Those engines look so realistic I thought I was looking at the real thing. Good work on those engines! By the way, are you going to make more paint schemes like CSX, Norfolk Southern, and Union Pacific?
+Jenifer Kornel: our Tier 4 GEVo (ET44AC, ET44AH, ET44C4, C45AH) will be available no later than this August in BNSF, CSX, Canadian National, GE Demo, NS, and UP. Please follow this link for more information. Shane scaletrains.com/pages/ho-ge-tier-4-gevo

Great to hear from you Elihah (+the goofe gamer 117). We enjoyed your visit. We are licensed to offer the Tier 4 in N scale. We'll see what the future holds. Shane
+SGT Ghost we are licensed to offer the Tier 4 GEVo in both HO and N Scale. We will not announce a model before we have fully assembled, painted, and decorated samples. We'll see what time brings... Shane
Yes, the warped piping, the handrails that look like they came from a warped die, the orange that is darker than CN's, and the amazing fuel sight glass that shows silver oil. The photo at 2:27 says it all. If you really think this is a work of art you need to get out and see a real GE. Then you might begin to realize that it's not the number of pipes and handrails but how straight they are. I will say the features are a great idea, they're just not executed very well.
Douglas: the models featured in this video are hand-built early test samples from first mold test shots. There were several revisions made to the mold and assembly process for production and the final models are well executed. When we announce an all-new model, we're committed to showing actual models instead of prototype photos, artists renderings, 3D CAD, etc. Unfortunately early samples are far from perfect. However, we feel they give a much better indication of what the final product will like when compared to not having a model at all. Please check out our HO Tier 4 videos noted as "production" and you'll see the difference. Shane
The locomotives in the video are pre-production samples. Please see our website for photos of production models. Shane www.scaletrains.com/collections/rivet-counter-ho-scale-ge-tier-4-gevo/products/rivet-counter-ho-scale-ge-tier-4-gevo-bnsf-heritage-3
+bahntv: thanks for the vote of confidence in our abilities to enter the Scale 2-rail O market. We have discussed the possibility. We'll see what the future holds. Shane
+spacecalander actually our DCC-ready Operator version sells for $99.99. The Rivet Counter model in the video sells for $149.99 DCC-ready and the ESU-LokSound DCC & sound version sells for $224.99. Shane
I would rather have a model that has handrails that are plumb and square, piping that looks like it's rigid and is straight, front and rear platforms that are actually horizontal and orange paint that looks more like BNSF orange than the mop on the head of the pretender in the White House. All the details in the world are meaningless if they're not even straight. Look at the broadside shot of the front steps and platform leaning down. OSHA would have a field day with these. Look at the fancy piping that isn't straight- it looks like crap. Look at the handrails leaning in towards the carbody like the engine has taken a dive in the ditch. This stuff is elementary and it isn't even done well. People are blinded by all the bling but the body and the handrails aren't even plumb and square. Why someone would think this is art is beyond me. That said, I do give them credit for beautifully crisp paint separations and the lettering on the stickers is nearly legible which is amazing. Those don't make up for the bad basics though. One thumb down and one up at best.
Douglas: the models featured in this video are from first test shots. We utilize the first test shots to make tooling changes, model enhancements, and verify accuracy. Shane
As info the C4’s are fucking shit. Modeling is one thing but I’m an engineer on a class 1 who runs these almost daily. They are TERRIBLE. Non stop wheel slip.
Intermountain blew this out of the water. Horrible colors. Logo is too big. Detail isn't even close. Barring caps don't look as good as IMRR. And IMRR got theirs out first...
Steven: as we've stated several times, the font on the logo for the decoration samples was too heavy and has been changed for production. In addition, we color matched Tru-Color Paint BNSF orange (TCP-61). We've read your claims on other forums about the BNSF logo and color. We would appreciate you not spreading misinformation. Shane
I have one of these in the CN 100 anniversary scheme and I LOVE IT. I would definitely recommend these locomotives to someone modeling in the modern era. You guys did such a great job with this model, keep it up.

is there any n scale model like this one in the video
+SGT Ghost we are licensed to offer the Tier 4 GEVo in both HO and N Scale. We will not announce a model before we have fully assembled, painted, and decorated samples. We'll see what time brings... Shane
i order 4 of this babies
Shane
one buff i have.........this is a bit nit picky but the logo on the side is too small
The locomotives in the video are pre-production samples. Please see our website for photos of production models. Shane

Thanks bahntv. At this point in time, we do not plan to enter the 2-rail O market.
Shane
