I saw once here on YT someone saying that "what Barcelona does in 10 passes, Xabi Alonso did in one", regarding his playing days. As a coach, I'd say his teams do it in 4-5. They pack the side of the field where the ball is with 4-5 players around the ball, and the others either have to avoid the reinforcement by staying in the path of the defender coming down to do combat in the middle or find space for what unavoidably happens, the switch of the game to the other side that has 2-3 players open to do damage.

yup. formations aren't everything. Being able to know how you want to play and moving in between your opponent and making the best decision is usually how you will win. As he said sometimes you may look amorphous but the players are responding to their opponent in a way that allows them to keep the ball and attack with progress.

Pretty much what’s he’s saying his xavi lets them play football and it works I’m sure there more tactic to there success but the bulk of why there all so good together is because xavi has given them the confidence and trust that they can be amazing footballers and that he trusts them. A lot of these guys were rejects or weren’t living up to there potential or players nobody was paying attention to. Xhaka was always getting shit on by arsenal for every little mistake he would make as if he weren’t a person and look at him here he’s that engine of this team. Xhaka was good at arsenal better than most people think but all that was overshadowed by the fans constantly shitting on him for everything and it held him back from being even better unlike here where Xavi has given him the trust from the very beginning

Xabi milking arteta effort for xhaka in his last season at arsenal. Xhaka didnt really hit it 2 season in and fans become impatient. He also moved to Arsenal young and boiled with passion.. his tackles are very2 harsh at time and he created his own reputation towards the reff. He cant handle the pressure as captain and later he stepped down from captaincy but still trusted by youngsters. Arteta push him in that last season, unlocked his best version and he moved to leverkusen for xabi to milk the reward. Its not like its xabi's full work and magic here with xhaka.

It's a pity that I don't see Alonso even being tempted into coming to ManU. Bayern, Liverpool, Newcastle or even Barcelona (even though I doubt Barcelona because of Madrid connections) are the only team that deserve him currently. Mostly Liverpool or bayern since they're out of coaches dexterity season.
