    Every Analyst is forgetting the influence del bosque had on Xabi. His usage of 2 attacking mid fielders (silva-iniesta) and pivot of xabi-busquets came from del bosque’s spain. Using of back 3 is something xabi learned outside of his player experience.

      It’s stupid that most people don’t regard Del Bosque as a world class. Mostly forgotten in every conversation about great football managers which I personally hate but it’s obvious I can’t change the minds of people about their perception of him.

      If he goes to Liverpool, Mac Allister and Trent would be those double pivots (or Endo for more control) and Szoboszlai would have that Wirtz role which would suit him more than the 8 role he has now. Just like he did at Leipzig.

    Leverkusen is a perfect example of brilliant positionings on the pitch. This vid shows it absolutely right, but a good plan is just as good as its fulfillment and they are brilliant in this. If Liverpool replace Klopp with Alonso it'll be really interesting to see how certain players will react to his methods. We've pretty much never played a conventional three at the back system under Klopp. For the most part I'm going to need some time to look at the players we've currently got and see how they would fit in with him, but I can be confident that Nunez would absolutely cook under Alonso. Nunez seems to have similar attributes to Boniface, just needs to sort out his finishing.

      That's old... Since decades teams have used one of the fullbacks as a 3rd CB or they asked one of the CMs to come deep for the ball between CBs. Is basic football. Lesson one is a team always attacks with only 3 defenders, one of FBs goes further and the other goes deep. Or both if the CM plays like halfback.

      @@ElRealista. 3 man defence like exists since Herrera's catenaccio. 2 man markers and a libero. Picchi, Beckenbauer, Tresor, Stieleke, Scirea and Passarella were some of the best liberos.
      When Sacchi arrived, he moved the libero to defensive midfelder (Rijkaard) and defence line was now different, 2 central defenders and zonal marking.
      Few top coaches used 3 man defensive line until Conte made a paradigm shift with Juventus. Bonucci was more of a deep lying playmaker, and the wing backs were often full backs in a 5 man line without the ball. In Chelsea it was different: The line was more flexible, with both Rudiger and Azpilicueta more offensive than Barzagli and Chiellini, and Azpilicueta and James switching roles constantly during the game, and Kante covering Alonso

    When Xabi moves to a top club, like Liverpool, Bayern or Real Madrid, I doubt he will play that 3-4-2-1 formation because all of them traditionally play 4 with the back. It would be very interesting to see how he fits his principles in a back 4 formation because his current Leverkusen formation was adopted to get the best out of Frimpong.

    • @user-wk4iw8gt8r
      @user-wk4iw8gt8r 3 месяца назад +1

      Not sure that it was adopted. But its been working very well so far. He only builds up with back 3 but defends with back four. Have not seen them defend with back 3 tho , not sure. But i am sure he can build up with back 4 as well with also using GK. I dont think he will have trouble adapting - switching to back four with build up and defending. But now with Leverkusen he builds up with back 3 but defends with back 4. Have not exactly seen them defend with back 3 but alright. The formation does get the best out of Frimpong and Grimaldo as well. The team is good enough to win any team and throphy tnx to Alonso tactics getting the best out of everyone. Would love to see him at AC Milan next season but he will probably stay one more year because they Leverkusen will be in UCL next season.

    • @user-ig1ps2mr2r
      @user-ig1ps2mr2r 3 месяца назад

      @@user-wk4iw8gt8r Definitely, he should stay at Leverkusen for one more season. Bayern, Madrid or Liverpool are the only likely destinations for him because of his playing career. Also, by adopting I meant he did very well to understand his current squad and then form a system which gets the best out of everyone. It's like, there are managers whose entire focus is imposing their play style (like Ange, De Zerbi), few focus on getting the best out of their players (Ancelotti) and then their is Xabi combining the best of both worlds!!

    A future real Madrid coach .. I like the 3 defenders formation and I think all modern football is labelled with it because of its flexibility for offensive and defensive mode at the same time

    Palacios is injured for now.
    And they have some really good players unavailable to them due to the Africa cup.
    Including their best scorer, Boniface.
    The next matches will be tough.
    Especially the match against Bayern.

    This is exactly what Antonio Conte was doing when he introduced 3-4-3 to Chelsea, they always change shape to 4-4-2, 4-3-3 during play.

    This is a lot like the system Conte played at chelsea when we used Victor Moses as our right wing back. If I was setting a team out against this system I would 100% be using a 442.

    Patterns, combinations, patterns wise, well Xabi's Bayer is pretty much a classic back 3 model, nothing too innovative really.
    But in the core, Xabi's system is an one-man army type around Florian Wirtz. But Xabi's Bayer resembles something that Obi-Wan Kenobi says, a fight is not really a fight, it is only a distraction and can only be countered by a larger distraction. Bayer has too many distractions that makes pocketting Wirtz literally impossible. And therefore, this team is freaking OP.
    Management side, well i can firmly assure that Xabi is a technical coach like Tuchel and Pep, rather than being a manager like Ancelotti and Zidane. But really, this guy has an amazing status that even superstars cannot mess with him. Xabi was the defensive midfielder second only to Sergio Busquets, Xabi's technique with the ball was second only to Busquets, and he still maintains a ridiculous level of technique, plus his understanding in football as a former player, not mentioning his superstar stature. So he basically needs to care about training and drilling players and nothing else. If anyone has watched his passing video when training first touches for the players, you will understand.

    I would love it if he were to stay at Bayer Leverkusen for 3-5 more years. If he can show his skill with the ability to keep producing results even with a high squad turnover, then a club will believe in him more and give him a long term project like a Jurgen Klopp.
