    Thank you for this! My FujiFilm 3D camera has new life-- before I could only look at my 3D pictures/videos on the back of the camera itself, but I discovered I can look at them in my VR headset as well. Unfortunately, I could only look at the 3D picture files.... but NOW all of my 3D videos can be viewed there as well, thanks to your help!

    I use PowerDirector and Vegas Pro. Both recognize the avi file as 3d. I can edit and then produce/render side by side etc. No conversion necessary.

    • @ANAVision
      @ANAVision  Год назад

      Thanks for sharing. I've also used Vegas Pro and found this to handle 3D video editing quite well. How are you finding Power Director in comparison?

    • @davidlong8500
      @davidlong8500 Год назад +1

      @@ANAVision I prefer Vegas because color grading is easier. In PD you can only do one file at a time in Color Director. Also in Vegas you can output 10 bit if you have the file to do that. That being said if you are not doing much color grading and rendering 8 bit. PD is easier.

    Thanks so much for including the script commands in the notes! Incredibly helpful.
    I just bought the W3 (mainly for stills) but am looking forward to your gimbal suggestions too.
    I see the new Qoocam Ego has just been released which does have higher resolution and better image quality than the W3. But it still lacks all the manual controls, zoom lens and other shooting functions of the W3, so I'm keen to prove that when used with Photoshop post-processing, the W3 is still the best 3D camera to have!

    Bizarre how the Finepix software I have only lets you watch in anaglyph or interlaced which doesn't work on my Panasonic passive.
    MASSIVE THANK YOU!
    EDIT: When I drag the files into my edit software (Magix Movie) I get no video and have to convert the converetd files in VLC.
    If anyone knows how to get around this please comment

    Thank you for this video. I have found I can greatly improve the quality video by running it through Topaz Video Enhance AI an even scale it up. I then run it though a frame rate increase through a tool list SVP 4Pro to get the frame rate up to 60 FPS, from 24 FPS. This makes the video much smoother and looks beautiful on a Quest 2 VR headset and 3D TV. The difference in dramatic.

      @@ANAVision I just got back from a Europe trip and have a lot of video footage shot with the Fujifilm W3. I would love to see a video detailing the process of taking W3 shot video through a tool like Topaz Video Enhance to upscale, stabilize, and increase frame rate with output to a final SBS format video.

    • @ANAVision
      @ANAVision  Год назад +1

      @@digitaljackson3891 I imagine that the order in which you do this would be quite important and would need some experimenting. In my thinking it's important to do the stabilizing step after SBS is stitched together, as otherwise you could get into parallax and misalignment issues.

    • @digitaljackson3891
      @digitaljackson3891 Год назад +2

      @@ANAVision I watched your other video on editing 3D stereoscopic videos (very helpful) and see that you nested the left and right footage in Premiere so that the same stabilization operation applies to both. Since Topaz does not have the ability to nest footage, I was thinking Topaz first to upscale/enhance the separate left and right footage (and maybe increase frame rate). Then, with left and right still separate, going to Premiere or DaVinci Resolve for stabilization, color correction, etc. My thinking is that stabilizing with SBS stitched together will cause smearing along the edges versus using a cropped stabilization on the separated left and right footage which will eliminate edge issues. Processing stereoscopic footage is a new thing for me so unsure if this method will work.

    • @ANAVision
      @ANAVision  Год назад

      @@digitaljackson3891, any operation on the video that could cause shifts in the image are the ones you need to be careful about. Upscaling, color correction, enhancements, possibly even frame rate changes are generally pixel operations, and don't transform the image position and are hence relatively low risk. You can do these anywhere (separate or together). But stabilization has the risk of causing shift transforms differently to each eye, hence for that I would recommend using the same algorithm on both (either by combining image as SBS prior to processing or bundling in other way such as nesting)

      Thank you for your feedback. In general, I would stay away from using a cameras feature to add a timestamp to the image even if the feature was available since it permanently changes the image. In the case of the Fujifilm you are quite right, you don't even have the option. I would rather take a clean image and add it later using the file timestamp or metadata. There are several ways of adding a timestamp to your image using your computer. I'm linking this article as it may help with this: www.findingtheuniverse.com/how-to-add-a-date-stamp-to-photos/

    spent the afternoon trying to figure out a mac workaround. I'm at a loss unless I could somehow get wine bottler to run it but just updated to an m2 and there does not seem to be a wine or equivalent yet. have an old xp netbook but the opposite problem there with outdated software. stereo photo maker will not recognize the file and a few other apps do the conversion but are converting from a 2d to a 3d and at that point a cell camera would make more sense. any thoughts on getting ffmeg into stereo photo (64 silicon version)? I can run the updated ffmeg but as a terminal and not a command.

      Michael, how did you go with this? Have you managed to convert the videos. If you have a terminal with ffmpeg, you should still be able to execute the command. You many need to run each file separately as the for loop variable may not work in terminal. So use a command like this instead: ffmpeg -i "in.avi" -filter_complex "[0:0][0:2] hstack=inputs=2 [out]" -aspect 1.7777 -vcodec libx264 -x264opts frame-packing=3 -map [out] -map 0:1 "out_2x1.mp4"

      @Cowboy, the video is already in SBS, but I suspect that you would want to view this in 3D mode on RUclips. This video would need to be uploaded to RUclips using the method I describe in my other video here: ruclips.net/video/MmDrnwPIWKg/видео.html&lc=UgxEJxgDL2qP1lCPPvF4AaABAg. Also you may want to resize and crop the video to get rid of the round edges. That can be done using the editing technique in my video above.
