  • Lyndsey Mimnagh is a homeschool mom of four (ages 3, 4, 8 & 10) and the founder of Treehouse Schoolhouse. Before motherhood, Lyndsey had a career in children's ministry and special needs education. Her home education centers around living books and ideas, hands-on learning, nature exploration, and biblical discipleship. She shares experiences and home education inspiration through her Instagram and blog, as well as creates curriculum and resources for families around the world. Her most popular curriculum titles are “An Expectant Easter”, “A Connected Christmas”, and “Treehouse Nature Study.”
If you are a homeschool parent, you are going to find so many insightful tactics and strategies for how you can improve your homeschooling game. Lyndsey talks parenting, homeschooling and home management. There is a bunch to glean from this episode. In today’s episode, we talk about some of my favorite things, which are rhythms and routines. I love learning from other women who are further along or just have more figured out. Lyndsey really loves this topic because she feels like it’s not something that is a burden. Rhythms and routines actually frees you up for the things you are called to do and do the things you love doing with a little more intentionality.
Lyndsey loves sharing inspiration and resources for homeschool families who desire to embrace family-centered learning, intentional discipleship, and life-giving rhythms and routines into their days. As you know, we are passionate about strong homes and family togetherness. Today’s episode with Lyndsey brings value to a discussion around creating intentional rhythms of discipleship within the family, both for homeschooling and non-homeschooling families alike.

I have a 3,5. And 8 year old and we all sit at the table together for school, that has changed, I used to teach my older kids one at a time during my youngest nap time, but now my 8 year old can read well, and she does so much on her own, i work with my 5 year old and my pre-schooler has special educational toys only for school time, and I always have her trace her name, and color and cut out a picture, she knows what to do now and sits there busy for awhile, after she's done, she gets playdoh or water colors etc. Or a toy like magna tiles. Great video! Thanks for all the great tips and advice!

This came at a good time for me. I recently became a housewife and I kinda don't know what to do with my time now. I eithet end up working all day and forget to eat or I end up not accomplishing anything and just play around all day. Rhythms and balance are really what I need help with! 😅

I love the idea of a visual schedule. I've considered this but I haven't implemented it. I love the concept of "rhythm". We are not at the school-age yet.

Thank you for this! Question: What is the name of the talk curriculum that Lyndsey uses with her older kids? Also, what is the name of the birds and bees talk she and her husband listened to in preparation for the talk curriculum

You lost me after "we have a nanny come in"

Why? She has a successful business to attend. If she can afford that I think it it’s great. I got a lot from the interview. Look for the things that apply to you.

Really? That's what you latched on to? Let go of the envy and learn from another mother who is doing well and be happy for her. A win for her is a win for you because your children will have happy and competent peers when they grow up.

😂 your comment made me chuckle. I totally get what you mean. Sometimes people can be really out of touch, but that doesn't mean we can't still learn some tips and tricks from them. Obviously she has done some things really well to be where she is. The nanny thing is completely unattainable for most of us, but I still enjoyed the podcast.
