- From Mitski: So I tried something... I made my own translation of the Italian song "Bella Ciao". I posted it here, but I want to hear your version in your language how you want to make it. Duet or share on Instagram, TikTok, or here on RUclips Shorts using this sound and #BellaCiaoWithMitski so I can see it and share your videos!
My version is inspired by the English version from Tom Waits and Marc Ribot with some help from Google, but I want you to bring your inspiration to it, whatever that might be.

We always sing this song during political rallies, even pride parades sometimes. I sing it with my friends when we meet up. It gives a voice to my anger towards an unjust system, towards a government that wants me dead. This version made me tear up, it's much more vulnerable and intimate than the one I usually sing. this is absolutely beautiful. as an Italian it is amusing to hear a so well done english version especially by a singer of your level, the only thing is that it doesn’t say “i don’t feel frightened anymore” but “because i feel like dying” in the original song

I think because I feel like dying is an important lyric and I would probably keep it personally. All the more, I like this very much
I took it as implication that the singer knows they might not have longer to live, so they no longer feel frightened knowing they tried their best; i.e. they know their passing has meaning
