Mitski is quite an introvert and it’s hard to keep engaging her during interviews. She’s the type of person that tries to shortage her thoughts in few simple quotes. She’s very precise. The interviewer done well.
its interesting that in other interviews she looks different, more "accesible", more active. I dont know if that happens only to introverted people but i feel really related to that. Functioning in social environments requiere an effort that you cant always put if you dont have the energy. And when that happens i find myself looking a little bit like her in this interview, even tho i have social skills. interesting comment
I clicked this with the exact question in mind about how she might feel about people crying to her music because I literally bawl my eyes out to her songs
Why does it seem like so many of her fans (I’m newer) are scared of her lol??? Music is supposed to make us cry and no one can tell you NOT to cry it’s okay lol
The part about A Horse Named Coldair is very beautiful... it's a thought she had that she felt the need to express...while not her most loved song it is actually good considering she made it to have a meaning for herself.
Her ideology of “making something that is useful” reminds me a lot of Hayao Miyazaki’s ideology for creating Studio Ghibli films. Not a coincidence that both Mitski and Hayao Miyazaki are both INFPs.
Mitski is so calm, I love see her interviews she is so humble for the art she does, she is an artist is an artist in self. Also, Call me baby TT lover her i never thought an artist with deep art could see that song as inspiration, beautiful. The probably dream of the horse is sad but interesting.
People sometimes forget how absolutely terrifying it is to have every thing you say be heard and read by millions of people, for every word you utter to have the potential to follow you forever. I can hear and see Mitski’s fear here, but her fear comes from an acute awareness of the situation her fame puts her in. She pushes through and does these interviews and she is brave.
i wish more interviewers asked such thoughtful questions, we can clearly see that mitski is pleased and surprised to be asked thoses. This lady did a wonderful job !
I love seeing her go through life. I'm truly a fan of this woman. She is inspiring in ways that keep me grounded, she's humble and growing into such an incredible person. If any credit, I thank everything it's taken for her to got here. Prayers for love and life and more hard lessons, how they grow us.
I love mitski and her music so much , her music means so much to me. I love how well she responds to the questions and makes all the questions she gets clear!
6:17 And boom, as Mitski continues to reach new heights and peaks in her career with My Love Mine all Mine and the Land is Inhabitable and So Are We, it is so beautiful and an honor to witness her growth and the process. Because this truly hasn’t been overnight for her
The interviewer referring to the 90s as "there's no culture here" really lost me, lol. The "golden age" of Hip Hop and when something as ridiculously diverse as Alternative/indie dominated. Where was the "culture" lacking? If it was lacking culture, I need to refresher on what "culture" means.
Didn’t she mean it as that it didn’t seem like it at the time but in retrospect it was really a significant moment for our culture, like how Mitski doesn’t really notice changes unless she’s moved on from a previous period in her life.
I can afford to take a taxi if i need to

Mitski seemed very tense in this interview.
What makes you say that?
yo también lo noté, mitski se ve algo incomoda o tensa, se puede ver cómo muchas por no decir todas sus risas o sonrisas son fingidas @@martaleja9279
