Another thing that could've motivated Obi-Wan was his love with Satine. He understood how he felt and understood just how powerful love was, so he let him and Padmé be.
obi understood bc of his own love with the duchess of mandalore, in the clone wars he told her “had you said the word i would’ve left the jedi order” he wanted anakin to have what he couldnt, so he stayed quiet and supported it from the background🥲

It may have been a deleted scene but I’ve drawn this conclusion just from watching the movies myself. Obi Wan obviously turned a blind eye to some of the things Anakin did. This was because he trusted the force more than the Jedi counsel like his master, quigon. And he believed Anakin was the chosen one from the prophesy. And he believed Anakin was a good Jedi regardless of breaking a couple rules here and there.
