more beginner videos please shipping is my big hang up ie best way to package and the actual shipping for difference stuff like a thermos or porcelain figurines
I’m just starting to sell on eBay and I love this video. I’ve been so intimidated to start but the way you showed everything step by step, I’m feeling more confident. I hope you continue to make these easy to understand videos for those of us who are just getting started.
Love this ! Been selling for a while been watching you for a long time! Yes, keep these coming because a lot of the things I’m already incorporating, but there’s always something new to learn. Appreciate the time you put into this education for all.
Ralli Roots back to the roots! This video is so informational. Been watching for years and never caught your original big hanger vid somehow. Making one today! Thank you 😊 👊
Thank you so much for doing this video. Now I just need to learn air drop-for I’m not tech savvy😊. You guys rock plz keep making videos for I’m tryin to get restarted again after 4 yrs and so much has changed. Thanks a million buddy. You 2 Stay Safe and Happy 4th of July and enjoy!❤️💜🤗💪♥️🇺🇸🙏😇
I have found that donatiting to charity instead of promoting the listing works well for me. It is a 10% minimum, but it bumps your listing up in the search. In my eyes, I would rather the "promotion fee" go to a charity & help someone. It's also a great way to document charitable donations for your taxes.
Awesome Video- I have been reselling for several years on the side and even though I have figured out a lot, I still have things to learn. Thanks Ryan! You guys always produce terrific videos. Been watching for a while and I appreciate all you guys do!
Great series ralli! No pressure, just a heads up, I'll be sharing these videos w my 22yr old daughter that just got into reselling! I've flipped things for a couple decades but started doing ebay fairly recently and don't know as much. We are both jazzed for learn from you and the wife!
@RALLIROOTS absolutely. I like that you guys are everything sellers. I have luck at that a little. She wants to do mostly clothes I think. Any chance we could get a video on selling cameras and camcorders I love that category.
Hi from Queensland Australia. Ryan your straight forward way of explaining is really great, just would like to say thank you for that. Our eBay system is a tad different, but the listing page is close enough. However, the postage, this shirt would cost $14.95 AUD to ship in country, (fun), which is about $10 USD. Looking forward to learning more from your videos, and judging from the comments below, I definitely will. Yours is only the 6th channel I have subscribed to, so I'll definitely check out previous videos. This weekend, my to do list - 1. mow lawn, 2. Make GIANT HANGER :-)
Thank you for messaging me. I recently started getting back into eBay with the goal of supporting myself due to the end of my marriage. I definitely will stop using all caps. I love the Ralli Roots videos along with their subscribers. A wonderfully supportive community, you being an example of that. Happy 4th to you also! Thank you!! Maureen
I list top of the market not undercutting, No returns, and NEVER promoted listings .. and do just fine .. I do allow offers & I always charge for shipping ... Everyone's model can vary, Enjoyed your insights
That’s awesome :) glad you do well. I would maybe be a bit open minded to change though, especially on the no returns. You’re absolutely hurting your chances of making a sale without a return policy in place. But yes, lots of different ways to win, I’m just giving you the way that’s made us millions of dollars on eBay, do with it as you want.
Thank you for doing this again! Y’all did a video like this years back and I still remember all your pointers! And I still use the big hanger I made using your video years back!
Hi, I'm glad I found you. I sold on eBay 20 + years ago. Just a few items laying around the house. Now I'm retired, I'm home all day taking care of my disabled wife. I need something productive to do and making a little money also. I am looking forward to following you and launching this new project. I subscribed and hopefully get some tips to make this project successful. Great video, thanks.
Love this video ❤😁. Thanks for sharing. So informative. Gathering all the information and trying to retain in my head 😂, so when I list my 1st item I know somewhat of what I am doing 😂. Can’t wait for the next videos. 👍🏻👍🏻
you wouldn’t believe how many listings on ebay or facebook marketplace i intentionally pass up on because of how bad the pictures are. if an open deodorant stick, a half eaten plate, and dirty clothes are in the background of the playstation you are selling, you probably aren’t the best person to buy from
I agree but I have to say this. People are buying new and USED stuff. They are not buying it from a department store. When you go to garage sales to buy stuff to resale. You don't say hey I would buy that if your garage was cleaner and your driveway was power washed.
@@christicrenshaw2772you don’t say it but you def will walk away if you can tell the people are nasty. It would take a lot of persuading to buy someone’s stuff that was bug filled, smelled of cigs, and house falling apart. There’s a difference between dirty and nasty.
Thank you for this. I’ve been been selling since January. Still takes me forever to list and keep track of my inventory. I have hesitation on cloths since it’s such a pain to do the pic you and measurements. I love this idea with the little sign. I’m a crafter so I can certainly do something up like this. Plus my walls in the basement (where I work my busy) are off white. Perfect for clothing pics! Look forward to the next one!
I do sleeve length as well .. I show a tape measure in the pics . Your way is nicer just not sure I have room to store more things. I also use the floor to get flat lay measurements because again no space plus I can take photos of the item with the ruler in the pics as well. I like the over sized hanger trick . I use a dress form I got for free off craigslist from an retiring seamstress
In it for the win! Great job. BTW if Ryan reads this, apologize for saying college degrees are “not a scam/worthless” the more I thought on the subject “do you still need a college degree” - in 2024 e-commerce, labor market, opportunities abound - not when I was 20 ! Appreciate subjects to open the mind to thinking 💭
Such a great video! Thank you for starting this beginner's series. I've been really struggling. Much like you, I prefer to list on the eBay website. Again, like you, I use copy /paste from Word for my item description (modifying where necessary). Everything looks fantastic in preview, etc. on the WEBSITE. However, when I look at the same listing on the APP, the description format is either all messed up or you have to click another link to get to the "full description". And as you said, no mobile app user is going to do that. I've listed 15 items on the website so far and manually fixed each of the APP listings. This can't be right! I'm not having fun and I could get a part time job that pays more for my time than this (as someone once said). Would you happen to have any idea of what I might be doing wrong? TIA for any guidance you can give.
I made one of your hangers. Works great! And i just use the eBay app to take pics & make drafts at the same time. Then I go to the desktop and finish the listings.
Thank you 😊 I really enjoyed this video. It was very helpful. I've been selling for 1 1/2 and I work full time. I avoid clothes. But you made it look easy so I may give it a try ☺️
Keyword optimization is def something you want to get good at the start. Since Pennywise is a 90s Punk band from Cali I would try to work Punk into the title
Great video!! Thank u so much! I wanna start my reselling business but im canadian and shipping is my worst nightmare 😫 im not sure how to address the crazy fees of Canada post😢
I’ve found (at least for me) it’s faster to use my iPhone to take photos of the items I plan on listing on a given day. Then I create the actual listings on my laptop for all of the listings. Then I’ll go back to my iPhone and using the eBay app I’ll go to the drafts (where all the listing I just created on my laptop will be located) and add and edit the photos. Then just click “list”.
Can you start from step 0 on setting up an Ebay store, what you need, what to take into consideration when choosing the type of store. I currently sell on Poshmark and am looking to expand and I would love the insight of how you even get started on Ebay. Also, do you use a cross listing app, and if so, do you create your listings in the app and push to platforms?
Hi great video as always..my question I thrifted a. Nikon coolpix122 (not working) some scratches..b.Samsung 5x (not working) no scratches..C. Nikon One Touch Zoom 90 (again not working the lens cover is half broken)..D. ninoka NK700 (not working) no scratches. My question is do I list these as is and what should I list them for..many thanks for your input and help..am quite new to selling cameras.😊
Hi Thanks for video-still learning. Is the 5% promotional fee on the listed amount or sold amount? What size is the poly bag? Is it the same size you put in for shipping cost? Thanks for the tips on the hanger and the dimensions! Looking forward to the next one. 😊
Thank you, I've just started on Ebay, but can't seem to get the colours of blue yellows and reds correctly for clothing How do you position your lighting please
Great Video, my question is when purchasing items from Goodwill and other places do you wash the clothes? asking for me when im selling clothes and going thrifting. Thanks
Hey Rya. Great video tutorial. I have a question or 2 about the measurement frame you use. Do you have a different one for like shirts, pants, dresses, etc? Also, the blocks your beautiful wife found, do you have more than one set, in case for some reason, an item had the same measurement for example, chest and length? Also, may I ask where the wife found those number blocks? Thanks Ryan.
Thank you for watching :) subscribe for future vids in this series.

Excellent video! My husband and I watch all your videos and appreciate all you and Allie do. Looking forward to the next training videos!
Awesome! Thank you!
Didn't realize Goodwill collects sales tax in Florida. In California & Nevada non-profits that operate thrift stores are sales tax exempt.
In FLA, only “church” thrift stores aren’t supposed to collect sales tax. FLA sales tax rules are complex, in my opinion!
Love this way of explaining..can you make a video on selling a phone like a Used Iphone .. it ll really helps me to start the business
Great tutorial for us beginners! Very thorough and to the point. I'm really looking forward to the upcoming videos of your series. Thank you!

Its appalling how poorly sellers take pictures on their cell phones. Blurry etc or extremely wrinked
I found a picture of someone's dirty feet in the picture with the item. Do they not know there's apps out there to white out the backdrop?
