I’ve been really looking into the Tag Huer golf watch but just been so disappointed by the dismal battery on it, shouldn’t even make it out the factory at that price point in my opinion. Had no idea this existed and I’m fulllly on board😍
Hi Geoff. I have taken it out on the course several times since, I just need to write my script and film my review. Hoping to release my full review next month 👍
Hey mate I’m seriously considering buying this and can get for £1,300 but would love to see your full on course review as I own the S62 but want a nicer day to day watch with the same golf ability….worried the non touch screen will make it harder on course to update putts, clubs etc?
Hi David. Not had a chance to film my full review yet, so I’ll try to answer your question here. In terms of golf functionality, the MARQ and the S62 are identical. While the MARQ has the sapphire glass, I didn’t notice a difference in screen quality. You do get used to using the buttons on the MARQ after a while, but I am a little disappointed not to have a touch screen for that money. I think the Marq is a far nicer watch than the s62 to look at, and it has additional functionality compared to the S62, although I won’t use most of the extra activity tracing options. If you can, I’d try and get a hold of a MARQ to wear before you buy one to see how it feels on and what it looks like to your eye…even at £1300, which is a significant saving, personally I think I’d rather put the money towards a mechanical watch instead. That’s of course my personal preference, and others will no doubt see the value in the MARQ for how it looks, how it’s made and what it does…but for me and the value I place on my money and how much I can justify on a watch, I’m left feeling a little disappointed. I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other specific questions
@@GolfGuyReviews Hi mate. Really appreciate you taking the time to write the reply and detailed points. That helps massively as whilst like you say it’s a fantastic looking watch I could buy a mechanical one and keep using the S62 for golf only! Who know maybe they’ll be a Marq II and this will be reduced by more. Keep up the good work mate
Approach models such as S70 record swing tempo as you play a round. Pressing measure shot also shows swing tempo. I think this feature is missing on MARQ Golfer / EPIX / FENIX
The design and the price point definitely seem to put this in the premium every day watch category. However, this appears to have been done at the expense of some of the golf features (not having a touch screen seems to be a bit of a step backwards). For the price being paid I agree that it should include a full set of the club tags. Additionally I would have liked to have seen something better done about the charger. It is identical to the current G lineup and I’m not a fan of it on those models already. Personally if I were spending this type of money I would prefer to own a premium non-golf watch and have a separate one specifically dedicated to golf, instead of one watch trying to live in both worlds.
You saw my genuine surprise when I found out it wasn’t touch screen 🤣👀 I’ve used it on the course once, and I’ve got three round in the next 7 days coming up, so will get a good feel for it, but my initial reaction is a lot of the money is in non-golf features I simply won’t use
In terms of golf functionality, they're the same (except as you point out the MARQ gen1 isn't touch screen). In terms of software, the MARQ does have a lot of additional activity tracking features for other sports and activities, as well as health tracking. In terms of hardware, the MARQ has a much bigger battery, a sapphire crystal screen, titanium body and Jacquard weave nylon strap... Whether these additional features make it worth over £1,000 more is u to the user....

Genuinely wondering that myself. I’ll be using the starter kit myself for the first time this weekend…Given you need the tags to get putting and chipping stats, I’m gonna go with my putter, lob wedge and PW I think 👍
These came out 3 years ago or so. Bit concerned they'll launch a new generation as soon as I buy it lol xD Or di you happen to have any info on possible new line? Cheers mate
Thanks for watching Wolf…no inside info I’m afraid, but you’re right this has been out for a little while now….watch out for my full in depth review coming soon 👍
Sorry Dina, I don't currently have any. There do appear to be some available for around £1,300 when I've googled, but I don't recognise the companies so you want to check them out for yourself.
Think these look overpriced now, especially given the age. That said, I’ve owned a Marq Captain for over two years (paid just under £1,500 back then), and it is superb. Much more durable than my previous Fenix, and looks superb. I wear it as my daily and find that my Swiss watches only really come out for special occasions. The golf features on the Captain are almost all the same and it’s great not having to remember to pack my old S2 whenever I play.
Thanks for watching and sharing. What features are missing from the captain (apart from the included tags) I can see the benefit of always having your golf watch on you, but I do hate the fact my iWatch and other smart watches like these mean I wear my mechanical watches a lot less
@@GolfGuyReviews so far as I can tell, there is a “virtual caddie” feature in the Marq Golf which sounds like it has more features than the “golf” app in my watch. Also, the bezel has a “hole marker” which the Marq Captain doesn’t. All I really want is distances and layups and the Marq Captain has all that. I can check bunker distances, 150yd markers etc, or adjust for custom layups.

Check out the MARQ 2…at this price I feel the AMOLED screen is a must. But it’s not a must for everyone, and it does eat into battery life
Yeah sure but I can only assume it’s a different beast to the tag. Thanks a lot great vid 👍🏼
All the golf features you went through, does it also available on the other MARQ series?
Sorry, I'm not sure as I've only used the MARQ golfer. My guess is yes, but I would check with Garmin.
Looks great but did you take it out on the course, there was no follow up i could find? Good option as an alternative for the Tag Connect golf watch.

What is the significant plus compared to the S62? I think it is a minus for not having the touch screen and I doubt the sapphire vs oled screen

I just bought the starter kit CT10 with the 3. What clubs would you recommend using them for until I eventually get the full set?

@@GolfGuyReviews thank you that makes a ton of sense! Just ordered my S42 today thanks to watching your videos!
Does it have the scuba diving mode on it as well?
I haven’t actually seen that in my options, but I’ll take a look to see if it’s a widget I need to add
Love the review as always. But I think Garmin is crazy for pricing it like this. They will be stuck with a lot of overstock in a couple of years.
Thanks Eddie 👍 will be interesting to see if they have a big discount in the future for sure
agree 100% I can't honestly see many people picking this up over the S62. For that money, you'd expect an OLED screen at least.
Are you sure it is not a touchscreen? It says so on the Garmin website. Strange.
The new mark 2 with the amoled screen is touchscreen, but the original mark 1 is not touch screen
@@GolfGuyReviews Ah yes, that's it! Great, thanks!

Hi. Could you please give me a link where I can order this watch please. cheaper price. £1700 or £1800

Nice looking watch but a bit big for my wrist. However, if I could justify £1800 on a golf watch, I’d spend another £400 and get the Tag Heuer.
I think I can just about getting away with it, getting used to the size. Yeah the Tag looks good too, trying to get my hands on one to do a comparison
I already own a premium watch significantly more expensive than this one. I see no point in its purchase over my current S42
Thanks for watching Raj, I don't think you'll be alone in that thought. Looking forward to posting a full review.
You sound like a humble fella 🤦
Nope, not for me. Samsung S4 watch at a fraction and does everything I need.
Thanks for watching Justin. Yeah I think the majority of golfers will be fine with what they have
