    Hi 👋 thanks for sharing your experience! There are a couple critical things you would need to know for a proper use of a bosal hackamore. Let me know if You are open to discussion, I will gladly help

    It’s my understanding is you never hold constant pressure on the rein. (Lateral flexion). Am I right ?

      Thank you for your comment.
      That is actually correct comma you are supposed to allow the horse to feel the hang and then bump and leave a loose rain. I did a lot of things wrong in this video, because literally it was my first time ever riding with this piece of equipment, and I didn't know anybody who really ever road with a hackmore, we're both saw like this. Since this time, I have gotten a lot more proficient in my understanding of how they work and what works on different horses, You are welcome to check out my other bosall videos I get better.

      @@lonestarwoman thank for clearing it up. I only ask because I’m going to be putting on the first ride on my mustang in the near future with a bosal hackamoe. I just want to make sure she 100% ready. I’m doing a ton of ground work with her. She’s my first horse(wild mustang). She coming alone really nicely
      Thanks again

    Hi Ally! Me again! I've tried riding in a rope halter with the reins near the bottom and my poor puppydog had NO IDEA what I was asking for when I would ask him to give his nose laterally, though he does it fine in a sidepull. Do you find that to be the case when you work in a bosal? This mare seems to give her head laterally really nicely in your bosal, but was she confused initially because of the angle of the pressure? How do you think the lateral pressure in a bosal compares to the lateral pressure in a rope halter with the reins attached below? How do you think the lateral pressure in a bosal compares to a sidepull? I'm interested in the bosal because I can show in it, can't show in a sidepull!

      Thank you for your question.
      Bosal is totally different. This was the first video I did and I had an awful time the first time.
      I had to work a lot with myself and this mare and we showed a month after this vid. We placed 3rd in Ranch Reining. Not bad for her first show.
      The main problem is the point to flex is the bottom of the chin. I found just flexing with the rope halter under the chin every day helps.
      Here's more of my Bosal videos for help.

    I’m realizing the most judgmental group of people is equestrians. This is why they like being around horses more than people, because people don’t enjoy their company. You have thick skin to make any video about animal care especially horses, I personally think you did a great job. Everyone rides different and there so many styles of riding. We both ride western but my horse is neck rein trained and yours isn’t , neither of us is doing anything wrong we just ride differently. Most of these people criticizing you are kids who don’t even own a horse and have their parents pay for lessons. Keep doing your thing, your horse seems to be happy and concentrated

      They don't have the exact head stall any more. The one in the vid is about 8 years old.

    Flexation is not a word, but maybe you meant flexion and relaxation- which is what you've got.

    • @lonestarwoman
      @lonestarwoman  5 лет назад +1

      Actually yes it is a term. Lateral and vertical flexation is a proper term.
      Please see this artical.
