    Thank you so much for this tutorial!! I’ve been spending more time trying to remove the cast on waste yarn than on the actual project. It was getting so very frustrating. This really IS a game changer!

    I’m picking up knitting again after a long hiatus. I want to add a decorative crochet to a scarf and was looking at how best to do that with a waste yarn to cast on. Holy cow, this is a game changer.

    In flat machine knitting they call that extra waste yarn or cord a ravel cord. They are great! Glad to see this tutorial, thank you!

    I stopped doing a project because it meant losing a lot of waste yarn on that one side that I always found difficult to remove so I just cut it and tossed it in the trash. I can now go back to my project and not have to worry about wasting scrap yarn and time. This is a serious game changer. Thanks so much!

    Thanks so much for sharing this method. In addition to making waste yarn easier to remove from the cast on end of the tube, it makes it so much easier to see and pick up the correct loops/threads when closing the ends no matter which sewing, crochet or weaving stitches you prefer. Very well done video as well. Concise, clear and easy to understand. Thanks again for sharing this!

    Would you use this on a hat with waste yarn where you don't want to close off both sides but you want to secure all stitches one by one, 22,43, 48 ...

      Yes :) this works for any occasion where you’d normally use waste yarn.

      If you use waste yarn then yes you can use this method, I don’t use waste yarn for normal beanies so don’t need this method.
