      Whoaaaaa you're right... Maybe he could see the laughter inside of him that has been hidden away and that is why his painting came out more of an "expressionist" style of painting. That is a cool detail Thank you for pointing it out.

    So glad that you put yourself in the shoes of the father when he walked away after seeing Ishaan reading the notice. Almost every reactor were shiting on the dad. We have to understand that, albeit cruel, the dad was never intentionally abusive. It all came from a place of ignorance about learning disabilities. Him walking away instead of approaching ishaan perfectly captures his first step to redemption- guilt

    • @ChaatNChat
      @ChaatNChat  9 месяцев назад +226

      That is how we felt. I think both Miguel and I understood that it was the turmoil inside him that he has to deal with and understand. I never thought of him as a bad guy but rather a guy that thought he was doing what was best. Realizing his mistakes he needed time to cope with it. Or at least that's what we assumed.

    • @shantanukarandikar2568

Amir khan always choose such topic for movie to educate audience. In India the compitition is so high in education that sometimes its difficult for parents to understand and accept that their child need extra attention and care to cope up with other and they simply don't accept it which is clearly shown in this movie. Few fun facts : Amir Khan co directed this film for the first time
    Also, he learnt painting just so that the brush strokes he makes should look like that of a professional artist.
    He is called "Mr Perfectionist" or Indian Christian Bale.
    For the movie Dangal, he gained 35 kgs of weight and also worked on 8 pack abs just for a 3second scene.. In my opinion he is far more superior and versatile than SRK... Just that he does not know how to market himself, and often says some blunt stuff without thinking much in his interviews..... Have a good watching of all Amir Khan's movies...And SRK 's Swades film is top notch

When this movie was released, I was of the same age as Ishaan and developed love for painting & sketching, which I had always liked but never pursued whole heartedly. Also, a fun fact, after it's release, our school's art teacher circulated written notice slips to all the student's parents to watch this movie with their kid. He didn't complete the film owing to creative differences with producer/actor Aamir Khan during the making. Aamir Khan completed the film and hence the formal credit for direction is given to Aamir Khan.

    I was just about 4 years old when I watched this movie with my family in theatre in 2007, I don't remember much but the visuals and songs made me love the movie. Being so young I off course didn't understand the complexity of the topic it was dealing with. Its amazing how I always come back to this movie and it never fails at making me cry, each time I find something new to ponder upon and hidden details that I missed. It's just a Masterpiece of a movie. I wish there were more movies like this. I think this movie had a huge impact on my upbringing, my parents were way lenient compared to other kid's parents.

      It is amazing to go back to childhood movies and rewatch with a matured mind. So many details you catch. I do this a lot with Disney movies where when I was a kid I completely misunderstood some scenes 😅

    I can't put to words the kind impact this movie had.
    This movie came when there was a huge stigma about mental health learning disabilities anything and everything and that's when this movie came out
    I was still in school I guess probably 7th grade and I could see the difference mothers and parents coming to school to talk to counselors wondering if their kids had any learning disabilities
    Honestly this movie had such a reset in the way parents treated children, of course it's still a very long way to go after all these years there is still so much more to do considering how competitive and education Focused society India is but this movie definitely had a huge impact on Indians
