Whoaaaaa you're right... Maybe he could see the laughter inside of him that has been hidden away and that is why his painting came out more of an "expressionist" style of painting. That is a cool detail Thank you for pointing it out.

the real painting of ishan was made by an artist from vishwa bharati university in shantiniketan west bengal, it is special because the university was established by rabindranath tagore, one of the most famous indians and asias first nobel prize winner..over the years many prominent personalities studied here.

So glad that you put yourself in the shoes of the father when he walked away after seeing Ishaan reading the notice. Almost every reactor were shiting on the dad. We have to understand that, albeit cruel, the dad was never intentionally abusive. It all came from a place of ignorance about learning disabilities. Him walking away instead of approaching ishaan perfectly captures his first step to redemption- guilt

    • @ChaatNChat

That is how we felt. I think both Miguel and I understood that it was the turmoil inside him that he has to deal with and understand. I never thought of him as a bad guy but rather a guy that thought he was doing what was best. Realizing his mistakes he needed time to cope with it. Or at least that's what we assumed.

I think it also came from a place of worry. The dad was scared for his son because he knew the world wouldn’t be kind to him when he grew up.

I always see myself in Ishaan. Im 28 now and only i know how i made it where i am. I was so close to ending everything at multiple points of life. I was bad at school, i used to get whacked around like crazy, i used to sketch pretty good, my sketches often got stolen from the classroom boards. But then i got sent away to boarding school and i never sketched again, and i still cannot. i met my own Nikumbh sir in some way. And finally discovered what i was good at and chose a career. Today im a filmmaker And I'm so happy Aamir khan made this movie. It's about time the world get's another film like this, and it is my goal to make something that makes people aware of the struggles of little children trying to understand and be understood. Hey son, wanted to tell you something which I have observed in my life
When a kid is born they are innocent & don’t know how to contain all the stuff going around & slowly & gradually they hit the maturity then after the age of 50 or 60 it goes reverse. So then we have to tc of them like a baby that’s why we Indian live with our parents & tc of them in those days where they need us the most & our job to tc of them as they did for us
I really really wanted to see you console your dad when he couldn’t contain his emotions in
I really wanted you to tell it’s ok to cry & letting it out but it’s ok I don’t want to judge your relationship what you guys have.
Still, love your & dads reaction

one thing about aamir khan's movies are that we see a character in his movies not a star, look at most of his movies he really gets into the character. in this movie also he made us feel like he is just an art teacher, in dangal we feel like he is an old father who is so obsessed of bringing medal to India, in three idiots he made us feel like he is really an engineering students, in PK he really made us feel like he is an alien. this is not the case with Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, when we see SRK or SALMANS movies we feel that they are a star, we dont feel the character.

Also, he learnt painting just so that the brush strokes he makes should look like that of a professional artist.
He is called "Mr Perfectionist" or Indian Christian Bale.
For the movie Dangal, he gained 35 kgs of weight and also worked on 8 pack abs just for a 3second scene.. In my opinion he is far more superior and versatile than SRK... Just that he does not know how to market himself, and often says some blunt stuff without thinking much in his interviews..... Have a good watching of all Amir Khan's movies...And SRK 's Swades film is top notch

This could probably the only movie shown to the students by their schools throughout India. I still remember, I was in 3rd grade or 4th grade, and one fine day everyone of us were taken to a nearby theatre to view the film. It was in Hindi, the language I hated the most during my elementary classes. Even though I didn't understand any of the conversation, the context was registered well within my heart.❤

Because Oscars are so political. I don't even watch the oscars now... the one's who deserve it never win or are never nominated. How 12th fail did not get any recognition solidifies that fact to me.

@@ChaatNChat I think 12th Fail will be in the 2025 nominations if the makers decide to send it. The deadline for Oscar submissions is end of September or sometime in October and 12th Fail came out after that so the deadline had already passed. I have heard that it will be on the nominations for the 2025 Oscars and really hope the makers submit it and there is a great chance that it could win the award as well...

Taare Zameen Par was directed by Amol Gupte, who is an accomplished artist and I guess he also has someone in family (maybe son) who is having some deficiency. He didn't complete the film owing to creative differences with producer/actor Aamir Khan during the making. Aamir Khan completed the film and hence the formal credit for direction is given to Aamir Khan.
Thank you, yours was the best reaction I have seen so far!
I would like to recommend to you following movies:
    Hindi Movies:
Hum Aapke hain Koun! (1994) - a musical with family saga. You'll love it!
Lagaan: Aamir Khan's movie about a fictional story on a game of cricket with British
    Hindi web series:
Bandish Bandit - a musical love story...very well made and unique in this genre so far
Marathi language movies (already recommended in Part 1 comments):
    Vaalvi (2023) - a nice dark comedy
Katyar Kaaljaat Ghusli - a classical music feast and a nice story - amazing music
Sairaat - a musical dram and love story - amazing music
Looking forward to your reactions to all above. I'm recommending these because I feel they match your temperament/taste.

I grew up in a boarding school as well. During one weekend visit my dad got busy with meeting so mom and me went outside to walk around and we ended up watching this movie in a small theater in shimla. WHEN I TELL U I CRIED...... I WAS SOBBING IN THE THEATER. My poor mom did not even know how to console me so we just went out midway and she took me for ice cream. Till then i thought my parents didnt want me thats why i am here but that day started to build my relationship with my mom. I am 27 years old now and she is my best friend. This movie helped bridge that gap. Seeing Miguel cry is making me cry again so wanted to write all this to feel lighter. Awesome reaction guys. Thank you ❤
