Have you ever got these problems on XZ Premium screen?
1. Touch screen fail/Touch not working
-The screen missing touches, swipes intermittently.
2. Lines on the screen
-There’s white line suddenly flashes on the screen when watching movie.
3. Screen flickering/blinking
-“My XZ Premium screen sometimes blinks, brightness go lighter, darker, lighter.... Although I disable adaptable brightness.”
-XZ Premium screen flickers but then after a while it goes away.
How to solve?
1. Touch screen no responds/Touch not working
-The touchscreen's performance may be affected by dirt, heat, or the use of device covers or screen protectors.
-Update your device to ensure that you have optimal performance and the latest enhancements.
-Try restart your XZ Premium, which sometimes automatically solves the issue by turning off all running applications and free up memory.
2. Black/White/Blue lines on the screen
1) Black lines
-Black lines on the screen is something that cannot be fixed with a software repair. It's an hardware issue and will require to change the digitizer/display or receiving a new device.
2) White line
-Tried play build in video with build in local app, if the white line is showed on same place, then it’s for sure the screen is a defective one. You should contact your Local support and ask for help.
3) Blue lines
-Blue line often appears after phone dropping or screen hitting, which damage the inner display.
3. Screen flickering/blinking/Ghost touch
-Sometimes the screen flickering problem can be fixed by Sony official software, but if there’s no official solution for it, you can also try reconnect the screen flex cable, cause the flex cable may be loosen when accidentally drop or hit.

Attempting to replace this screen seems to be a monumental task not to be undertaken by novice, the front & back glass panels & IP68 certified uses alot of adhesives. Gone are the days of just removing a few screws, this is a job for professionals like you Sir.
The phone is IP65. and only IP68 in laberatorium surrundings =) The Z5 was IP68

Kevin Rodriguez do u really need to remove the back panel to remove the screen?? Can it be removed simy by remiving screen and detaching the bracked holding down the connector??

Hi, one question. If I buy the entire frame + LCD screen, it means that I don't have the need to replace only the screen, I mean, I just need to detach the back parts of the phone and reassemble to the new frame? Am I right? Thanks.

@4:35, so is this what you would get if you purchased the part "lcd screen assembly" on your website? or does it include some of the other things you removed before this step?
The answer is no btw for anyone curious, the part you get will be missing the fingerprint scanner, button modules on the side of the frame, the headphone jack, and a few other things youll have to figure out how to transplant from your broken phone.

My Lcd is working but upper area touch not responding. I can't pull down notification bar. Can i change only touchscreen with digitizer. Not lcd...

At 2:53, i snapped off the black connector from the foil, both white and black parts came off together, along with one of the the small black pins(the one on the left...) Is this fixable?
My phone has water damage. It can make calls, the touch screen works and there are no cracks at all. However, there is no picture. I have had the phone so long I can make a call without the image, but the picture on the screen is all black and white pixel lines moving around. Can I repair it? If yes, what part would I need?

Hi! To this point i tried 3 displays from different sellers but all of them were broken. The touch was not working. Are the displays you sell tested?
There are after 3 tests, in the meantime I suggest you inquire if it is a problem with the wiring.
I replaced the screen of a XZP which would turn on but black screen, still same problem after I replaced it. What can it be, do I need to replace the motherboard perhaps?
I just found that if I boot the phone or make a screenshot with it I can see an EXTREMELY low change of brightness

This tutorial was very helpful but after a while i needed to dissassembly the phone again (proximity sensor problem) and after assembling it back my touch screen is not responding at all.. i've ordered another screen and the issue is still there... :/
What's the problem of the screen before repaired? Did you drop it before? It seems that touch IC on the motherboard is damaged, I suggest you find a professional repair store to check which part is broken.
Thanx a lot for responding, i've been replacing the screen because of the drop - flat faced on flat surface, phone in softshell but still totally broken to the point that the touchscreen was working only in the midsection a bit. As mentionet - first replacement following this tutorial was a success but prox. sensor was not working properly, i decided to reassembly again, been very cautious but still touchscreen refused to work, ordered second unit and still the same. Did master reset on the phone (using org and paired dualshock controller to operate) and still no luck. I guess i'll have to sell those screens and buy a new phone :(

Although xz premium is waterproof, but it could also get water inside when drop into water and hit something down water, the reason could be complicate, I recommend you to go Sony service center and get help, if your phone is still under warranty.
and if main platform is damaged, can it be changed? if yes, what is price?

Reconnect the screen flex cable, if it doesn't work, check the cable to see if there's any PIN missing or bent

No, the screen can not be replaced from front, you have to start from the back cover.

You got the best repair guides but man do something about your customer service. I almost ordered a xz premium screen with all the tools until i've read all these reviews. I backed out because i have a repair shop and can't insure the customers that their parts will be delivered or make sure these are OEM parts.. A damn shame because of the cheap price

You casually skip the part where you remove the battery. it doesn't seem to budge after removing the plaster.

Hi, did you try another charger to charge your XZ Premium? If you tried and it still charge slow, then it maybe the problem of charging port and battery. Try contact with Sony service center.

half of this is unnecessary you only need to lift the motherboard and push through the new wire for the lcd and connect.

Absolute shit. The new screen worked when I first tested it, but then it never switched on once everything was put back together. Avoid!
