- An hour away from Medellin via the smallest plane ever, lies the small town of Bahia Solano in the State of Chocó on the pacific Coast of Colombia.
From there I caught a ride on a boat to Playa Huina.
That is where I am.
Let's go get something to eat!

@@aa-mb9oj Well if your whole "family" died of "covid" it sounds like there was an underlying condition which may have been hereditary. If it is true i am truly sorry for your loss but I dont see people dropping like flies so its honestly nothing to have a pandemic over. If you wanna wear a mask 24/7 and keep 6 feet away from people thats up to you but dont push that upon others. The flu "may" be real but shutting down the world over it just sounds a little fishy to the average person who thinks for themselves. I dont believe in any of it and so do billions of other people. We have much worse problems in the world right now.
@@BlazedBob i never said my whole family foo , just sush you’re probably 12 if you still don’t believe covid exist
As a colombian, this is so heart warming to see content depicting what colombia is really like,
good people
good food
good times
I am so desperate to go to Columbia after COVID , looks a special place , the people seem so friendly
I was thinking the same thing. I have lived in Costa Rica for 24 years (originally from the US) and have been to Colombia 3 times and just thought this video was so unpresuming and charming and so like the people I've met in Colombia.
@@stevekollen1672 what are the people like in Costa Rica?
I am also a colombian, I am so thankful to see how Kurt is showing my home country to the world, nice friendly people, fantastic food, beautiful places to enjoy.
My friend went to Colombia 🇨🇴 and said the people were amazing and treated him so well. Amazing place 👊🏻🙏🏻
I was happy when she said she didn't know about RUclips. Still a place of purity.

Translations:
2:39 _"In case of earthquake go to high zones or inland"._
4:26 She said _"Casi no soy experta"_ which more or less translates into _"I am not very skilled at it"._
10:09 She said _"Yo le pregunté a... cómo se llama? A Eduardo... Y (él) me dijo que depronto (usted) no iba a almorzar sino a cenar, por eso no le preparé... ¡Pero yo le preparo enseguida"_ is more or less _"I asked... What's his name? Eduardo... And he told me that it was possible that you were not having lunch but only dinner, that's why I did not cook anything for you... but I can prepare something for you right away!"_
There is also an error of translation in 16:10, she actually said _"el 19 es que le llegan 4, el 19 de este mes me llegan 4"_ which actually means that four tourists will arrive at Bahia Solano on the 19th of the current month not that there were only four tourists in 2019.
Also, it was funny at the end that since you said _"muy calor"_ instead of _"muy caliente",_ she thought that you meant _"mucho calor"_ and that's why she put on the fan, she did not understand you were talking about the soup and not about the temperature of the house, haha.
Even I understood that last point, but I'm learning Spanish in England, and he's actually living the life.
@@misterbonzoid5623 ? What do you mean?
Thanks, Victor!!! Very helpful!
Can you do this on every video! Pretty interesting
Love how this guy treats everyone with so much respect and appreciates all the different cultures. He is such an inspiration because so many times the tourist treat the locals like they don’t have any value just because of the humbling way that they live. It’s amazing to see how intrigued he is about knowing what’s going on around him!
Yes exactly
In my experience tourists treat people best 🤔 Usually they are not causing any problems, are respectful and well behaved. Well not the tourists from certain countries but I don't say which one because I don't want to start a debate.
@49 Keyz Beats I know what you mean. But at least animals keep their distance and mind their own business.
I'm a Colombian, I I don't even know el Choco. You are definitely a different type of you tuber. I love that you interact with humble people.

Joana seems like a very lovely person to hangout with even being a stranger and foreigner.
She actually wasn't the foreigner. He was.
@@Ay0ubM when I said "stranger and foreigner" I meant to say that it'd be nice to hangout with her me as a stranger and foreigner.
She trusted Kurt a lot, but I guess a homogenous society creates Trust, WHITE countries are being flooded with non-whites thus distrust in a lot of white countries. Diversity is not a strength, and if Kurt were to stay there forever, it may not be good for him. She had no idea that Kurt was a good man, just went off his looks. All peoples should have their own homeland, but only allowed to visit other ethnicities for the short term, not be given "citizenship." Let the best ethnicity win, in advancement. Artificially meshing ethnicities together creates discord and distrust.

People are so relaxed there. Music is playing all the time and everywhere. They always have a smile and are not afraid of the gringo. No judging at all. The real soul of many Latinos. It's a pity that it always need just a few bad people being criminals to trash down the image of so many.
And beer.
That mostly depends on the Nationality and sometimes on the region. Brazilians are still the most hospital and friendly people I have ever met, doesn't include the region of Recife though, but overall great people. Espacially the people of Rio Grande do Norte, an amazing region to visit.

1 of the best travel vloggers in the game right now. Easily better than Bald and Bankrupt. Way more likability and great attitude towards every culture. Top man. Love from Ireland
I like the direction he goes too, I found Bald after watching a bunch about Vladivostok, then slowly absorbing more about Russia in general. Definitely interested in Colombia, though, for sure! Home of George Gammon!! Medellin. Kurt, keep the videos coming, I am thoroughly enjoying the adventure!
@@andrews3267 ya it's great watching him grow as a person and watching his vlogs become better. I like Balds videos also but sometimes I get a feeling like hes too safe. @@robbieburton8887 I got some of that vibe too, I just overlooked it cause it was all new to me. I kept clicking and viewing, just to see. Yeah, Kurt is more relatable, I’ve been lost in Mexico with knowing only maybe 100 words in Spanish. Crazy coincidence, I ended up running into someone I recognized from my plane ride, tagged with them and did the tour of the back streets. It was an eye opening experience. Honestly man these videos make me really happy. Thanks for doing this. You're helping people. Most of us are stuck inside, stuck in lives we don't love, around people that don't love us, in places we're tired of. You're opening our hearts.
Your comment inspires me just as much as Kurt does. I’m 29 and live a very similar life to him but feel like such an outsider because I don’t prescribe to the lifestyle above. I used to but severe depression gave me the case of fuck its or die and I’ve been itching to share my ethos because I feel like such an alien… I definitely am not a natural like Kurt, but I can bring up discussions of how to power through introversion, anxiety, depression, and preconceived notions…I’m just afraid if anyone would really relate. For me it’s important to see such beacons of hope, and I’m glad to see it would be for others. I’ll be sharing soon.
I honestly believe the best travelling is by yourself because you can do anything in your own time and it's super easy to meet people when alone.
Kurt’s translations of his own speech are… extremely generous to himself. Hahah.

Amazing content. As a Colombian I love watching your videos. Thank you for being so respectful to local culture. Just a quick note, at 16:10 Joanna was saying that on the 19th (day of the month), 4 tourists are going to arrive, not that there were 4 tourist in 2019. She says there's no tourism but doesn't mean it literally, but rather as way fo speaking for the decrease in tourism associated to the pandemic.

This is about as authentic as they come. I live for stuff like this man. Great job on this video. That looks like the place to go to disconnect. The only place calmer I've ever been are the islands off the coast down there. They have eco hostels and there is no power on the island. Some solar but that's it.
