Hey James, I was hoping you'd focus a little more on canning instead of juice fizzing! We've already seen the juice fizzing but you haven't explored canning that much!
Potential tips for your water bills and just in general for off-the-grid and such. 1. You can "Collect water" from ponds and it will go straight into water storage. You can use this every few hours instead of 8 or more dew collectors. Not sure if it works unless your lot is off the grid though. 2. I use this lot in my own game and 1 wind turbine (roof) and 8 solar panels (4 roof, 4 ground) are more than enough to give me a power surplus. When combined with other strategies. I have no dew collectors, only manual water collection. And it's all I've needed. 3. For off the grid, Never use electric lights or auto vacuums. And make sure to click on your fridges and tell them to "not use utilities" There is currently something that seems like a bug where if you turn off fridge power usage ice level still wont go down. 4. If you check all your water/power usage items make sure their consumption rating is as high as possible. This will also reduce the amount of water and power used. 5. Unless an item has a water rating on it, it doesn't use water (Since you asked about the fountain) same with power. You probably know half of this already James. But just in case you didn't! BONUS THING FOR COTTAGE LIVING: Spellcasters make running a farm stupidly easy. Because the practical magic spells work on crops, animals AND animal sheds. You can use the cleaning spell on all of them. Only drawback is you wont get fertilizer :c
Idea: if you're going to rearrange the layout of the farm, you could put a formal/flower garden in front of the house, with a fancy driveway up to it. It would make the entrance really grand tho
I think for the front of the house you could potentially do another pretty garden, I've been googling british farmhouses and the front of the houses are often really lush and nice! I was also thinking that you could build Hazel & chosen brother a separate house on the same lot, so you'd have a huge estate
I love how James originally wanted Chaz to hook up with Hazel, yet almost every time she calls to hang out he says nope. And the one time he says yes, he bails after 5 minutes. 🤣🤣🤣. I think the fix is in for Trenton 🙂
The animal topiary (even dead for winter) would add a nice farm touch to the sitting garden. I'm not sure about the table in there, I can see the guys going to That table every time they eat. Yes, move the sitting garden between the plant gardens. I have a hedge maze on one of my Sim's lots and it's pointless. It's not like they can really navigate it as if "lost". You tell them "go here" and they take the most direct rout there, Meh. The center of my hedge maze has the family cemetery. 👪
Also, I forgot to mention but in a previous video when you were aging up your Sims etc you didn't know what to do with all the pets. They should move in with the Bot since they're alone and don't age. So they could care for all the Big Wallet pets 😍
the garden could also be a great place for chaz or trenton to take hazel on a date when they don't have the time to travel off the lot. one of them can invite her over, they can hang out as a group, and let their autonomous interactions play out to see which brother she interacts with most
Oooh love the idea! I really think James should get the brothers to invite Hazel round' more to hang out in the outdoors area (since he's scared of her stealing furniture maybe that's the best way for all of them to hang out 😂
I love this let's play. It gives inspiration for my own game. Having your sim as a mermaid is super helpful on the farm because you can call upon rain when you feel too lazy to click everything individually to water them 😂
I don't think James ever let Banana change the weather back when she was a mermaid, he also never uses the alien abilities of the more recent generations - occults can be so useful!
@@aleksandra6131 Aliens aren't super useful, but they can scan someone to find out all their traits immediately upon meeting them and copy the emotional mood of another sim. Thats about it.
@@aleksandra6131 lol, no, they don't have a special skill, so many people don't know they can erase other Sims' memory and revive the aliens in jars and "communicate" with space rocks that you collect from space missions, and they have the alien handshake and some special socials, mostly mischief stuff. The alien socials are also available for half- and quarter-alien offspring, which I find cute because the handshake is very dorky and ends with a boop.
I would love to have seen a garden like from “The Secret Garden” overgrown wooden door hiding in a stone wall, with an overgrown flower garden inside, along with a bird stump for the Robin.
Thank you James! Loving all the daily uploads, can’t wait to see Hazel, Trenton and Chaz future. I low key think Chaz, needs a older women who’s kinda of like a Mrs. Santa Claus, she loves to cook, bake cookies, pies and canning and cross stitching that would help with you getting someone to help with those areas on the farm.
Oh of course it makes sense. Chaz became shameless so he can scam Kim out of her money easier while haggling, but also so he can confess his love for her haha 😂
@@alterego1121 yes but knowing james they would still also be enemies at the same time as lovers. Kim refused to haggle one time and he’s still held a grudge over that for the past 6 episodes or so lol
How about, instead of a selling table; a little shop? I can imagine (when Hazel marries into the family) she would want to have her own little shop. Wouldn't that be cute?
Love the court yard idea! I am more partial to mixing up some stone walls on the outside and hedges on the inside to mark up the space better and fairy lights!!! I do like the idea of it hanging between the crop fields but I would make it a little less green and more rustic stone. I love this lets play so much theres so much going on lmao
James I would change the hedge garden into a more “English style garden” - more irregular with a lot of flowers and plants! I think it would fit amazingly with the countryside and not look a bit odd 🙈 also you could put the birds and the rabbits there to blend in and maybe make a little pond for sims to sit next to
Evil rooster CLEARLY has something going on with one of the golden hens at 17:30. The second the gate is unlocked, he runs into the pen and the hen has love hearts.
I love the hedge maze because I get unhealthy emotional attachments to in-game characters/references. I’m very happy Sucker is on the pedestal it deserves. Can you name the topiaries? Cowlene deserves to be represented 😌
I think you may want to expand the house to be less cramped, albeit not too grand for the farmhouse vibe. Maybe something between this house and the seasons final house? It would be so cool to have hazel + whichever brother and the other brother to have kids and all live in the same house
🌻🌌I LOVE How you can do a REAL Life-esque Farming Feel with this pack, Buying crop seeds every season when the festival hits, then harvesting only towards the end of the season, and surviving on the money till the next season... 🌌🌻
Getting rich off of juice fizzing is my specialty. Once you get to the highest level and fizz dragon fruit, sell it on your table for up to 22 grand a case with 300 percent mark up!
I love the idea of the garden especially in the middle. I also think you should move your birds of paradise inside the garden cause it doesn't matter if they're sheltered or not because you don't really use the flowers as a profit so it not being available all year around should be fine. Just a nice homage to your seasons let's play. Also yes the well would look soo good in your farm
Using the hedges from romantic garden stuff would allow everything to be more cohesive, and they would decay in the winter. Plus, the hedge fences look so weird and fake that its never going to look cohesive. Just my opinion tho! I also do like the idea of the garden in the middle!!! :)
Make the house bigger! Furnish it all, get a deck out in the back with a BBQ and sitting area. Get Hasel to move in and marry one of the two guys. Let them have kids and they carry on the family legacy
What about planting a cow plant in the center of the garden 'maze'? I love the idea of putting it inbetween the two crop sections as well, I think it will look awesome.
But wait a little closer to when Chaz needs to have grown one for his gardening aspiration because I doubt James will be able to keep it alive long with all the daily farming chores🙂
i think maybe it would be cool to do one of the upstairs empty rooms into an awards room, with all the ribbons and pictures/itens that won on the festivals! I mean, it's empty and you already commented on putting everything into one place with the aubergine lol
I'd like to see a bit more of the canning and juice fizzing going on. And also I'd love to see them cook more of the newer dishes. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally into this crop farming content, but I always get sad when I see that brilliant greenhouse go to waste like that.
Even though the rabbit homes don't need to be close to the crops for them to still help you with the gardening, I still like the idea of putting the hedge maze in the middle for symmetry.
Would love to see the wishing well brought in for the maze…could be cute for Hazel and one of them to get married in there or even just wish for a child for the next heir!
I love how that formal garden area turned out, especially with that arch you put in at 14:52. Please don't move it! The picnic table has an awesome view of the pond! Imagine having a picnic there with Hazel. Maybe you could also add another bench there so one can sit amongst the greenery and look over the pond.
I think it’s time for a speed build renovation for the farm. I like putting the garden in the middle of the fields. I think the green houses should be in the back of the lot. Maybe a formal garden in front of the house too. Oh and also maybe make a collective barn yard for the cow llama and golden chickens.
@@JamesTurnerYT I really do like that aspect of the house renovations. I love both LPs so much! I just wonder if it’s ever going to give you a top level renovation option 🙄🤣
You should get their mom Bonehilda and then she can do all the cleaning and cooking and help in the garden. She’ll be just another npc like patchy. Maybe she and patchy can “get together 😉” and patchy will then be their “stepdad”
I’d love if we left the farm sort of how it is and then once hazel moved in she quits decorating to help on the farm and raise the kids but she still enjoys decorating by doing the landscaping and decorating for the seasons. Love love love this series
@@RicocheaClove well it would be awkward if she moved in got married and then lived with her farm hand brother in law for forever. I’d imagine that household would split up but then she obviously had to help on the farm because it’s too much for one sim and then it would become like the family business
Love the garden! You could put more pedestals around for the future winning crops! Also putting the maze garden in the middle of the crop garden is a great idea! And with the winning crops on display it would make sense to have it in the crop garden!
You could use the gnome statues riding a chicken and place them in the garden. You can even name them after the chickens who have moved "upstate". And the wishing well should be in the middle.
I love the idea of the garden being in the middle with all the birds and rabbits. It can be their little home for helping you! Maybe finish framing the crops off with hedges too...the real ones that is, not the fence. I'm so excited :3
I don't think they have, it wasn't mentioned in the last patch notes. It's tough though, hopefully they do patch it, because you really do have to be there just before 5 am. I don't get frog logs at all after the first one. And for some reason looking for frogs in the pond or fishing in the pond/river doesn't count? Nonsense.
I think you should make a gate and pathway from the hedge garden to the pond. like put a bunch of wild flowers along the path to a bench under a tree that looks out over the pond to evil chicken island. also you absolutely need the topiaries, theyre perfect for a fancy farm garden
the garden is so crazy, I love it!! cant wait to see Hazel getting married in it and helping out on the farm, she would look funny in overalls and rubber boots :D
James, evergreen hedges exist. But yeah, along with the evergreen fences, they should have provided evergreen bushes and flowers and pretty manicure hedges.
Absolutely love the garden!! The idea of having it between the crops is great! Also put the power and water on store!!! It's like you bought a battery (which you can definitely do for renewables) that everything runs off at night/when there's no wind and it's like having a water tank for water which I have no doubt you could either build or there's probably a debug one.
I love the garden! Putting it in the middle is a good idea, and it Definitely needs the wishing well 😆 You should get a picnic basket to have picnics there too 🧁 Maybe you can somehow display the ribbons around where the statues are? And/Or have cross-stitching displays of your crops/animals in pedestals!
I like the idea of the garden, being in the middle! :) I know people have said this a lot but loving this LP! I have never been this invested in a while haha.
Suggestion for hen name: Henny Kravitz Also absolutely love the new “maze” garden area can’t wait to see it finished. You didn’t really need the water collectors anyway right 😅 Also you should make a little farm shop like Clarksons farm and sell “bee juice” 😂
Oh I'm loving the over-the-top maze garden! I really think it should be in the middle as you suggested, and a bit bigger 😄 if all the rabbits and birds and future fair winners are going to fit ☺️ Also I think now that the guys are nearing the "riches", the house should be fancied up a bit - put it on a platform and with a big porch on the front 😊 Also (James' favourite part of the Sims 😄): time for some makeover for the guys! Maybe Deli will be so kind as to help 😉
I love the idea of a sculpture garden, but I don’t think the style you chose suits the house. I picture the final farm to be a big self sustaining homestead, so a luscious, overflowing, sculpture garden with wooden fences and furniture seems like it would fit better.
I love the garden! It'll be the perfect proposal place when Hazel joins the family and if you add a wedding arch, they can get married there too! There should be some sort of place to commemorate all the cows, llamas, and chickens that have gone to the great grazing fields in the sky.
The farm need a massive redo. I would have the formal garden where the greenhouses are, some nice fence around the whole farm, a front area with a place for cars and a countryside garden.
YAASSS!!! Add the markers for the oversized crops! You could also turn the plot rows 90 degrees so they start towards the house then you could easily have just 5 rows and all one after the other rather than three and three. Also, for fertilizing you could always just fertilize the first 2-3 in each row so you have some of each large crops and the rest would be normal sized. Put more effort into a few rather than some effort into all.
Now that you've pretty much done rags to riches for Chaz and Trenton, maybe a next step is working on bringing in the new generation...? [chanting] more bigwallets!
your video is like my daily vitamin while doing work at home. I love watching you while working, your videos made my stress from WFH lesser. I can't express how grateful I have James upload so frequently like this ❤
suggestion, naming a future heir laggy bigwallet, both in honor of the sims being laggy and it being a little throwback to the ancestor raggy bigwallet
The little garden is super cute but I think it would look better in the middle of the crops too. You could also give the university chests a try or the cardboard boxes from ECO they can hold a greater variety of stuff than the basegame chests.
If a chicken is dirty and you've already cleaned the coop, you have to leave them outside the coop, in the rain to get cleaned off. I don't know why, but it works.
In the UK, there are definitely houses with solar panels on the roofs because there was a government initiative for council owned homes to get panels a few years ago
I love the maze, it will be a nice place for Hazel to relax, doing meditation and yoga, if she joins the household 😉 The tiles as well looks amazing and you should keep it where it is definitely. Well done

Love this idea
I LOVE the sculpture garden. It truly is the quintessential quirky-farmers use of land. Perfect for this family!
This is my favorite phase of every rags to riches lp: enough money for frivolous projects, but still so many more goals to accomplish 😊
I think for the front of the house you could potentially do another pretty garden, I've been googling british farmhouses and the front of the houses are often really lush and nice! I was also thinking that you could build Hazel & chosen brother a separate house on the same lot, so you'd have a huge estate
yes! and hazel does the whole interior to their separate house!
I love how James originally wanted Chaz to hook up with Hazel, yet almost every time she calls to hang out he says nope. And the one time he says yes, he bails after 5 minutes. 🤣🤣🤣. I think the fix is in for Trenton 🙂
I'm still Team Chazel.
But Hazel keeps calling Chaz all the time
The animal topiary (even dead for winter) would add a nice farm touch to the sitting garden.
So they could care for all the Big Wallet pets 😍
the garden could also be a great place for chaz or trenton to take hazel on a date when they don't have the time to travel off the lot. one of them can invite her over, they can hang out as a group, and let their autonomous interactions play out to see which brother she interacts with most
Yees ♡ they should do a picnic with pies
Oooh love the idea! I really think James should get the brothers to invite Hazel round' more to hang out in the outdoors area (since he's scared of her stealing furniture maybe that's the best way for all of them to hang out 😂
I love this let's play. It gives inspiration for my own game. Having your sim as a mermaid is super helpful on the farm because you can call upon rain when you feel too lazy to click everything individually to water them 😂
I don't think James ever let Banana change the weather back when she was a mermaid, he also never uses the alien abilities of the more recent generations - occults can be so useful!
@@organicstorm what do aliens do? I thought they were just there 😯
@@aleksandra6131 Aliens aren't super useful, but they can scan someone to find out all their traits immediately upon meeting them and copy the emotional mood of another sim.
The alien socials are also available for half- and quarter-alien offspring, which I find cute because the handshake is very dorky and ends with a boop.
omg that's kinda genious tho, and definitely cheaper than the sprinklers 😂
I would love to have seen a garden like from “The Secret Garden” overgrown wooden door hiding in a stone wall, with an overgrown flower garden inside, along with a bird stump for the Robin.
Thank you James! Loving all the daily uploads, can’t wait to see Hazel, Trenton and Chaz future. I low key think Chaz, needs a older women who’s kinda of like a Mrs. Santa Claus, she loves to cook, bake cookies, pies and canning and cross stitching that would help with you getting someone to help with those areas on the farm.
Kim!
I see what you did there, trying to retire Kim... KIM...
The banter between Chaz and Kim would make them a hilarious older couple 🤣🤣
Oh of course it makes sense. Chaz became shameless so he can scam Kim out of her money easier while haggling, but also so he can confess his love for her haha 😂
@@Jayk-kz7sh enemies to lover trope? Love it 😂
@@alterego1121 yes but knowing james they would still also be enemies at the same time as lovers. Kim refused to haggle one time and he’s still held a grudge over that for the past 6 episodes or so lol
The noise you heard at 23:13 means a fox got into your chicken coop. Usually they'll steal an egg.
How about, instead of a selling table; a little shop? I can imagine (when Hazel marries into the family) she would want to have her own little shop. Wouldn't that be cute?
Yes! Also those fridges from which sims can shop without having to be rung up are a very convenient way to sell produce.
I think it would fit amazingly with the countryside and not look a bit odd 🙈 also you could put the birds and the rabbits there to blend in and maybe make a little pond for sims to sit next to
Exactly!! I hope he does this
Evil rooster CLEARLY has something going on with one of the golden hens at 17:30. The second the gate is unlocked, he runs into the pen and the hen has love hearts.
You’re always shutting Hazel down! She just wants to fall in love 😂😂😂
James: ×complains about bills×
Also James: ×spends $14,000 on a fancy garden×
Wrap around porch like the typical farmhouse would be cute
At this point Trenton is just so annoyed with Chaz for wasting money 😂
What about planting a cow plant in the center of the garden 'maze'?
I love the idea of putting it inbetween the two crop sections as well, I think it will look awesome.
But wait a little closer to when Chaz needs to have grown one for his gardening aspiration because I doubt James will be able to keep it alive long with all the daily farming chores🙂
i think maybe it would be cool to do one of the upstairs empty rooms into an awards room, with all the ribbons and pictures/itens that won on the festivals! I mean, it's empty and you already commented on putting everything into one place with the aubergine lol
Loving the garden. Maybe put a shower upstairs instead and have a small bathing area with a tub for Fefe outside
Maybe they could craft a wooden one for outdoors for Fae Fae with the woodworking table
This maze garden is fabulous! Please, don't regret building it ♥️
I love this LP so much. Plus uploads everyday?? We’re so lucky!! I like the garden idea. It would look magnificent in the middle of all the crops.
I think it’s time for a speed build renovation for the farm. I like putting the garden in the middle of the fields. I think the green houses should be in the back of the lot. Maybe a formal garden in front of the house too. Oh and also maybe make a collective barn yard for the cow llama and golden chickens.
We’re doing the renovations in the Dream Home Decorator LP for the most part :)
@@JamesTurnerYT I really do like that aspect of the house renovations. I love both LPs so much! I just wonder if it’s ever going to give you a top level renovation option 🙄🤣
@@arjones523 he can always just do whatever he wants and then add one item to what they are wanting lol
You should get their mom Bonehilda and then she can do all the cleaning and cooking and help in the garden. She’ll be just another npc like patchy. Maybe she and patchy can “get together 😉” and patchy will then be their “stepdad”
Trenton's other parent is an alien though
Makes sense to me. They both hate Brody!
I’d love if we left the farm sort of how it is and then once hazel moved in she quits decorating to help on the farm and raise the kids but she still enjoys decorating by doing the landscaping and decorating for the seasons. Love love love this series
Ew, why would we want hazel to give up her entire career just to be a housewife? It would throw away her entire let’s play.
Chaz goes on a maybe-date and all of his family piles in to spy on him 😂😂
Not even spy
More addicted to this LP than coffee and that's what's up.
They must have done a patch for the bramblewood because it was impossible the first week I had the game, tried again this week and a piece of cake!
Nonsense.
Aw, Hazel's still mad that Trenton didn't like her reno. He should totally ask her out and rekindle that friendship
I think you should make a gate and pathway from the hedge garden to the pond. like put a bunch of wild flowers along the path to a bench under a tree that looks out over the pond to evil chicken island.
also you absolutely need the topiaries, theyre perfect for a fancy farm garden
Some of the potted plants look more outdoorsy and would work in the garden area without turning brown in the winter
the garden is so crazy, I love it!! cant wait to see Hazel getting married in it and helping out on the farm, she would look funny in overalls and rubber boots :D
Putting it in the middle is a good idea, and it Definitely needs the wishing well 😆 You should get a picnic basket to have picnics there too 🧁
Maybe you can somehow display the ribbons around where the statues are? And/Or have cross-stitching displays of your crops/animals in pedestals!
I like the idea of the garden, being in the middle! :) I know people have said this a lot but loving this LP! I have never been this invested in a while haha.
Suggestion for hen name: Henny Kravitz
Also absolutely love the new “maze” garden area can’t wait to see it finished. You didn’t really need the water collectors anyway right 😅
Also you should make a little farm shop like Clarksons farm and sell “bee juice” 😂
The garden is gorgeous! And it is the perfect place for the next Bigwallet wedding!
Hazel calls to hang out
"We're only reading so why not"
Me who doesnt go out just so I can sit and read 😳🤣
Every time you upload these LPs it instantly puts me in a great mode.
You and me both, I literally wait for 9am to see his videos.
Oh I'm loving the over-the-top maze garden! I really think it should be in the middle as you suggested, and a bit bigger 😄 if all the rabbits and birds and future fair winners are going to fit ☺️
Also I think now that the guys are nearing the "riches", the house should be fancied up a bit - put it on a platform and with a big porch on the front 😊 Also (James' favourite part of the Sims 😄): time for some makeover for the guys!
You posted just as the last video in my queue I was watching ended. Perfect timing! And good morning from south Florida!
Hey! I’m in mid Florida!
@@cyndellcreger5500 cool! 👋🏻
The chick hanging out in the kitchen at 34:30 melted my heart 🥺🥺 it also fell asleep for a second 🥺🥺🥺🥺
I love the garden, its a perfect place to get married some day.
super cute maze-garden! I feel like it's a perfect spot for lovers to sneak into. You can place where ever fits best, no opinion there
The hedge maze seems like a perfect place for Hazel to paint from reference after she moves to the countryside :D
Hey James, the romantic garden benches fit under the gazebo in the center of the formal garden. Just thought it would be a nice touch.
I love the maze, it will be a nice place for Hazel to relax, doing meditation and yoga, if she joins the household 😉
The tiles as well looks amazing and you should keep it where it is definitely. Well done
Hazel should be with Chaz, she has picked him i Think. She called him several times around love Day, and on love Day. With Trenton, it was a, hey buddy, wanna join my club? Trenton should get a wife too, and the wifes could make the preserves, cook, and do crosstich on the poarch together😊
James you are making so many people happy with your videos! I love to see how much you enjoy playing this series as well! 😀
I absolutely love the garden and think it is totally worth it
I'm living for the romantic garden addition. The wedding arch from cottage living would be great in there, too!
