This is the problem with Yugioh, instead of making everything balanced you make certain decks so broken that they aren't fun to play against because it's just unplayable
According to a friend of mine, Konami is fully aware of how imbalanced it is. But they don't know how to fix it.

I feel the exact way. I'm ready to take my loss without surrendering but then they start a whole other combo when I am completely defenseless

The fact that an archtype exists that quite literally forces the game to become a One Player game is absolutely disgusting.

@@grimreaper7348 When ojama were created you couldn't pull this off on turn 1, your opponent could still play monsters, unlike you were insanely lucky and get to summon ojama king and use ground collapse
Because it makes sense with the lore but outside of that they really should’ve thought about making Kashtira extra deck monster be something else that isn’t so toxic

Today's meta is just NOT letting your opponent play. Sucks the fun out of the game to be honest. This is why I enjoy watching people play with 'regular' oldschool cards. It's just fun which is what this game should be all about.
I start playing with my old cards recently. Decks that are somewhere anime accurate to specific characters, honestly it’s a lot more fun than modern yugioh imo

Yugioh started to go downhill once Syncrhos became a thing. Yugioh completely changed into an abomination of a "game" once Links became a thing.
@@Mortuus101 This exactly. With Synchros, main deck monsters became less about their own abilities and more of how well they're used as materials for Extra Deck summons. At that point it wasn't bad, but it was the moment the poison was injected, and it has been slowly spreading ever since, slowly making Extra Deck plays crazier and crazier. Someone will probably mention that only 2 Extra Deck monsters were played here, and who can forget how crazy Eldlich used to be without any, but if Extra Deck-focused decks can go ballistic, then obviously decks lighter on Extra Deck plays have to fall in line and go ballistic as well.
The best video I saw in these kind of meme video was an seven turn duel between an Ojama player vs and a tri brigade/Zeus just because Ojama delta hurricane was used.
This isn't even the worse part the deck is still at 50% it's missing kashtira big bang,kashtira tearlaments ,scareclaw and the field spell kashtira pressure planet and also finally Kashtira Ariseheart

At this point Yu-gi-oh feels like a coin flip game with extra steps. Sometimes you win or lose just by having a card or two in hand and nothing else.
Especially with fun decks. I love gunkan but without the right hand traps or negates, I’m helpless against strong meta decks
So? In poker and other card games you pretty much stack cards, too. Get a combo - win, do not get combo - lose.

Not letting your opponent do anything has been the meta for quite a while. Go first > Summon a board full of negates > GG. This is nothing new. At least this deck doesn't pretend to let you play.

Well, I took a 1-month break from MD starting with July and I haven't gotten back yet during August. Seeing that this is now happening, I might extend that break indefinitely.
I just play during the events but thats it tbh

It's annoying that this deck banishes from the extra too and it's not even a random banish, you can even select which card and get knowledge about what the opponent is playing ugh
At this point in the game, it feels like the terms "Normal" summon and "Special" summon have their definitions reversed with the modern meta; it's more common to special summon a whole slew of monsters, while normal summoning something that ISN'T a combo starter or extender is astronomically rare. It's a shame the modern archetypes couldn't keep to the slower tempo of the older cards, but until they get the idea in their head for a new format, having access to everything is great for casual games.
Agree. Even more, for many decks the normal summon is the last resource or even a disadvantage
I love how this showcases that Arise-Heart was never the problem in TCG.
It was it's own problem but I'd argue it was fair as a boss monster. I can only soap box Shangri-la and mindhacker for so long lol.

This is the reason why I stopped playing this game, I loved this game ever since I was a kid, but over the years they kept introducing stuff like this that just made it less and less fun. Call me a boomer or whatever, but this game was at it's peak before stuff like this was introduced. It honestly killed a game and if they keep on doing this, this game will just completely die. Not even gonna mention that you are basically forced to play whatever the meta is in order to have a chance of winning, you can't just play whatever you want anymore unless you want to lose.
This is why we add cards like Kaiju, Lava Golem and Evenly Matched to our decks
2010 YGH : Have fun each turn.
2020 YGH : Kill your opponent in 1 turn.
2030 YGH : Kill your opponent in 1 cart.
Oh yeah. No monster zone

By this stage, Konami should probably count this as a victory to "Player A", managing to endure all this bullcr*p. Personally, it's a victory just to have that level of self-control to withstand all of this.

What we need is an archetype specifically designed to counter broken decks while at the same time having synergy with multiple past archetypes like Gladiator Beasts and Deskbots.
This is why I prefer playing both as and against Rogue Decks. Because at least with those, you have a chance to play the game.
I once had a Traptrix mirror match, and it lasted 25 turns. I won in the end, and it was one of the most fun duels I've had in a good while.

At this point they need to make an update to the Master Rules. Something like: "no more than three zones can be made unusable at the same time and pendulum zones can never be made unusable". It's just unreasonable that an entire summoning method is made obsolete because of one archetype.
No, a better solution would be setting a hard cap on how many different cards/effects can be used per turn

Hard cap of special summons per turn (just enough so something like Nibiru doesn’t become useless)

What if Konami implemented some mechanic were the player has to pay to play. For example, Magic has Mana, Digimon has memory, Yugioh could have something to apply costs. I dont mind the new cards, its just overwhelming having the opponent shoving his whole army in my face.

Eh, it kinda feels like doing that now would only make things worse. Remember when pendulums first released and immediately everyone hated them? Imagine if they changed the game so drastically it was basically an entirely different game. I feel like that would only serve to make even MORE people quit the game in frustration, and even more new players might not even try to learn the game because it just changed so severely.
They did that in DoR, to summon monster, player must have stars. But that's DM era so that didn't count 😂

As someone who is trying catch up with modern YuGiOh, is this the most toxic archetype that Konami has released or are there any that get even worse than this? I thought solitaire was bad but this is just straight up locking out someone from playing. I guess there were ojamas before, but this just seems so objectively cancerous.

There are a lot of bullshit archetypes, Kashtira may seem so at the surface but it was a shit ton of counterplay even though its ceiling is literally making your opponent not play yugioh if you let it go off without nib/Kaiju/fucking book of moon/veiler even on diablosis/etc
For a tier 1 meta deck, it really has a shit ton of counterplay and outs but it's still bullshit
Just add Kurikara, bunch of Maxx C, the big shiny Ra ball and Kashtira isn't really a problem anymore. Remember that they don't have any form of protection. Tearlament meta was much much worst

I just got dealt with that deck just a hour ago, belong pissed off as it shuts the opponent from doing anything, how of earth did this archetype not get limited or outright banned yet?

I think it's time that the company if they want to fix this issue of broken summon effects. Then it's time to create trap and magic cards designed to counteract that. Because something tells me if this keeps up of this similar pattern, it wouldn't come to a surprise if the company noticed New players who are victims through this kind of play start to quit

As soon as I see a Kashtira card of ANY damn kind I just surrender. my life won't be spent staring at my screen for ten minutes just watching my opponent activate every single damn card in their deck while functionally locking me out of doing anything at all when my turn eventually comes up.
That why my opinion kashtira should be banned
Honestly, Kashtira completely loses to kaijus and board wipes like evenly matched. If you run an OTK deck with these kinds of going second removal, you're going to beat Kashtira more often than not

Modern YGO just isn't fun for me and Kashtira is glaring proof of that. It's why I choose to play against my husband with old-school structure decks instead, those are lots of fun to use.

Modern Yu-Gi-Oh is so hilarious that despite looking so oppressive in this video, the power level of the meta literally went down compared to the last format.
I’ve said this before but rn in master duel kashtira really needs a god like opening hand and needs you to have nothing to stop them to even try to make this board and like most people are saying there are cards that beat them and you can put into any deck kaiju, lava golem, dark ruler no more, etc.. I think you just got unlucky

I just scoop the second I realize I'm going up against one of these decks. Shit ain't worth it. Its not fun to play against a deck that can basically banish half your cards in 1 turn AND force you down to 2 monster zones.
Honestly they need to either figure out a nerf for blocking zones or just outright ban that card. I can deal with a lot of these powerful metas, but Kashtira isn't one of them, period.

personally i think they can keep the shang ri ira... but rather than XYZ it should be fusion summon and can only use the effect once per turn
I like the idea of not allowing your opponent using zones you can chose to stop link plays, but again special summon spam allowing you to fully stop all your zones is stupid.
Thats why gx era 2005-8 is the best

last four or five matches in MD I played against Kashtira and even when they banished half of my deck I still managed to whoop their ass 😂 with Sky Striker 🤣🤣🤣
