I had forgotten what a glorious, magnificent statement of faith, truth, and revelation that 1 Cor 15 is! Our bodies will be transformed, like a seed that grows into a flower or tree-part of the new Kingdom of the restored Eden. Oh, to be in that Garden with our loved ones!

Aloha, praise the Lord, and good morning BR family. Paul didn't feel that he was worthy of God's blessing because of his past. He said in 15:9, "For I am least of the apostles, that am not meet to be call an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God". As TL often reminds us thar God wants your heart. He is a forgiving God. Repent and ask for forgiveness and you shall receive. All power and glory to God; He is where the JOY is!!

“But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
    ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭57‬ ‭NLT‬‬
I wanted to highlight this verse today as this also happens to be YouVersion’s (The bible app) verse of the day. There are over 31,000 verses in the Bible and around 1,200 chapters, what are the odds that the verse of the day aligns with the reading today. I believe this is God communicating with all of us today the importance of thanking God, so fellow recappers, let us all take a moment today and thank our heavenly loving father for the sacrifice of son. For through him we are granted life. God bless y’all today ✝️💪!

I love with when those things are so divinely placed! When things like that happen, I often look up and say, “ok, ok. I see You. I hear You. I’ll place my focus here!” :) ❤
I do a daily devo with my kids, a teacher devotional, and TBR each morning and it’s just a grand slam when they all point me to the same place. It happens so often. It’s a celebration of my soul when I allow it to work in me!

We should teach our children from their early age this verse in
    1 Corinthians 15:33
“”Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.””
Have all a blessed day with the Mercy and the Grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

When I’m not careful, I can pick up habits from those I spend time with. ❤ I pray that the He would continue to give us wisdom and discernment as we live on this side of heaven.

I prayed and asked Our Lord Jesus Christ to distance all the friends that don’t care for me or are taking advantage of me.
I wanted it to be done with no fights or arguments or give any reason.
Glory to God ! With his Mercy and Grace 3 disappeared from my life.
They stopped messaging or asking to come over.
Glory to God! I thanked him that he heard me.✝️🇨🇦

Thank you for addressing the "baptism for the dead" and that Paul was merely addressing what was happening, not endorsing it. There is a heavy Mormon/LDS influence in the area I live and baptism for the dead is an important part of their faith, so it was helpful to me to get a little background on it.

Victory is ours through the resurrection of our Lord and Savior. He is our only hope.

  • @karenevans6035
    @karenevans6035 Год назад +18

The fact that Jesus rose from the dead is the most important part about about our faith. If Jesus did not have victory over death, we would be hopeless.
Because He did rise from the dead, that hope permeates every area of our lives.
If Jesus wasn’t raised from the dead, then everyone is still in bondage to sin.
There would be no afterlife or hope.
The resurrection of Jesus foreshadows the resurrection of all God’s kids into eternal life.
Jesus is the second Adam and destroys death and bring life.
One of the wicked side effects of not believing the resurrection is people doing whatever they want in the here and now.
Our eternal bodies are so much more glorious because they will not be tainted by our sin nature.
If our earthly bodies are like acorns, our eternal bodies are like oaks.
Grace driven effort brings results unlike “me” driven effort.

"For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15: 3-4 ESV). That's the gospel in a nutshell. The Lord in His grace gave Jesus Christ as the final atoning sacrifice for all of humanity's sins, past, present, and future. Praise His holy name!
Until Jesus returns, our instructions are simple. ‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭16:13‭-‬14‬ ‭(ESV‬) tells us to "Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. [14] Let all that you do be done in love."
What a glorious day it will be when we will no longer be in this fallen world with all of its brokenness. No more strife, divisions, or death. No more disappointment, heartbreak, or sorrow. Come, Lord Jesus. Come!
Yes and Amen. I look forward to being in a new glorious body that never dies, and seeing again those who have gone before me, dying in faith in Jesus Christ, like my father, who recently passed away, his mother (my paternal grandmother), and a dear childhood friend who was like a sister.

The Church of Later Day Saints practice baptism of the dead. Menbers stand in for those they feel haven't been baptized in their church. I asked my aide what if the dead family member didn't want to be baptized in the church. I didn't get answer. I explained that accepting Jesus your Savior was personal and each person is to make a plea for salvation.

Paul didn't write 1 Corinthians 15:1-3. What I mean is that scholars believe he's quoting a creed (statement of belief) he was taught when he first got saved. The importance of this wonderful creed is that critics of Christianity often say that since decades passed before the Gospels were written down, legend had time to develop, that is, a lot of exaggerations crept into the story - like Jesus' resurrection. But here we have a statement about Jesus' death, resurrection, and post-resurrection appearances to his disciples that goes back to the earliest believers. If Paul learned it when he first visited Jerusalem between 5 and 8 years after the crucifixion, and it was already a well-established saying by that time, that means it IS what the first believers believed. It means it originated before the story would have had time to become corrupt.

I would like to share my interpretation of 16 verse 2, about the 1st day of the week. I believe that doesn’t mean that we should worship on Sundays. I read that as the first day of the week is when they were to update their book keeping and set aside their charitable gifts so that when Paul came to collect them at everyone’s homes, it would be organized and quick for him. Just wanted to share.

Paul’s letter crescendoes into the climax of a clarion trumpet: “Let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed!…For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will live forever” (1 Cor 15:51-52). This is what hope sounds like: a crisp, silvery peal that sounds the dead to life. What does this say about God, that He would transform our bodies from their earthly form and like a seed, explode into a powerful, ageless form? He loves us so much that even though I’ve turned my back on Him too many times, He forgives (“Love keeps no record of wrongs”) and wants me to see Him face to face. There’s the saying that “He’s so heavenly minded that he’s no earthly good,” but Paul shows us that when we think of Heaven and who we become and what glorious bodies we’ll have that are equipped to see God’s blinding Presence, we have the hope to be “strong and immovable” as we “work enthusiastically for the Lord, knowing that nothing we do for the Lord is useless” (1 Cor 15:58). Knowing that we will be transformed and perfected at last gives us the strength and the hope to keep building the Kingdom today.

It came to my attention about the money being collected on Sunday as a day the church gathered for worship to celebrate the day Jesus was raised from the dead. I did a little research on this. It more likely was because Jewish tradition was that you don’t handle money on the sabbath.

"Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
    1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV
God’s commands are designed to guide you to life’s very best. You will not obey Him, if you do not believe Him and trust Him. You cannot believe Him if you do not love Him. You cannot love Him unless you know Him. -Henry Blackaby
God, I'm getting to know you. I am growing my love for you as I read Your Word. I believe Your Word as truth and I am working on trusting You fully. Faith is a process. It is a lifelong growth process. Give us patience and strength to follow You. I currently struggle to obey you. I know obedience will lead to joy. You are our source of joy, and it is a process. Give me endurance.

Paul says in chapter 15, verse two ‘by this gospel you are saved. If you hold firmly to the word, I preached ‘ Paul exhorts them to hold firmly to God‘s grace , hold firmly to the word;why ? because it can be taken from them. God has His part and we have ours. Yes He gets all the glory but the believer needs to choose daily to walk with God.

    ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:35‬ ‭NLT‬‬
[35] But someone may ask, “How will the dead be raised? What kind of bodies will they have?”
[38] Then God gives it the new body he wants it to have. A different plant grows from each kind of seed.
[43] Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength. [44] They are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, there are also spiritual bodies.
[46] What comes first is the natural body, then the spiritual body comes later. [47] Adam, the first man, was made from the dust of the earth, while Christ, the second man, came from heaven. [48] Earthly people are like the earthly man, and heavenly people are like the heavenly man. [49] Just as we are now like the earthly man, we will someday be like the heavenly man. [50] What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever.
[52] It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed.
[54] Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in victory. [55] O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
