- Опубликовано: 3 ноя 2016
- This is a quick little update to a video I made from last year about how my game room is set up. This time I discuss recording with Game Capture, Live Streaming, my game room setup for filming, and some new retro gaming devices since last time.

me: "Mike whats your PC specs"
Mike: "4 usb ports"
me: "uh..cool"
hahaha I know right. He is like, oh this is my PC...as you can see there are lots of USB ports on the front of it.
Custom build, I don't think Mike is the one that did the custom building though lol
I also don't think he knows what a mechanical keyboard is
can it play pornhub @30fps?
Don’t forget the micro SD cards he can put in there!
Mike is a idxk
It's you and James that got me into retro gaming, and I'd like to thank you for that! I started watching AVGN, and then James and Mike Mondays. Now, I love collecting things like this. Plus, I'm only a teenager! Which shows how fantastic it is that you're helping a whole new generation not only to get excited for the future, but to appreciate the past.
Impressive museum, man. What's crazy is that you can emulate all of it and it will all fit on one SD card.
Yeah that's true. I just prefer playing on the original hardware usually. Though with something like 5 1/4" floppy discs, there isn't much choice since they are almost always dead. Anyway, glad you enjoyed the video. -Mike
I did, man. And I understand. Enjoy your treasure.
I just did that and build myself a RetroPie system wich consists of a Raspberry Pi 3 and a Pitendo case.I now have all NES ,N64 ,Mastersystem , Genesis , some PlayStation games, etc... and it fits all on a 32gb MicroSD card.Just amazing how technology evolved to do this.I know having the consoles and cartridges itself is amazing and authentic but it is very expensive and time consuming to search and buy all of the consoles and games, i just love the form factor of my system as it fits in the palm of my hand and i can play almost every console and game imaginable :D
He would be a HUGE PRICK (pun intended) :D
Less of a pun, more of a double entendre.
Mike is damn authentic. Glad someone like this guy exists these days and YES, you can tell he's a nice folk.
+Dafoodmaster legend says its 9 inches
This is so weird. I remember thinking he was annoying and disliking him to some degree as well back in 2010. Now, I like him a lot. What the hell happened?
atidiaX mandela effect.
+BlackPhillip
people used to hate his guts around 2012, then he became a meme, and they lived happily ever after :)
mobious01 Bullshit. Try 10.
Mike seems like the type of person that genuinely like to help people without thinking they're getting anything back in return just to help such a nice guy not a lot of people like that around nowadays. And James seems the same they're both genuine people it seems like I wish I had friends that had video game collections like that 😞
Shower with Mike Simulator 2016
Damn... do they come in that size?
deadguy718 trash bag?
"take your Damn clothes off!"
Enjoy all of your content Mike!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video! -Mike

This was awesome Mike! I really loved the tour and updates of your collection. I hope you can show more off and share more intriguing factual information on your systems. I hope you make more of these videos since I can literally listen to you (or James) for hours on end. Thank you for always entertaining us with your awesome games and for keeping the past alive. This to me is what you guys have always been all about. Nostalgia at it's best!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching - Mike
Very wise to have open access to the back of your setup! Too many people make the mistake of shoving everything against a wall, which makes cleaning/modifying your shit a huge pain.
Exactly! It doesn't look pretty, but it's super functional! Thanks for watching! -Mike
The suffering is real. We only use 4 consoles and a VHS player, but due to our available space all our cables are between the TV and the wall. It is often a god-damn nightmare.
*shows us his custom built pc*
*only mentions usb ports and keyboard*
He's clearly not a PC/Windows guy, and he doesn't know much about this.
It was kinda embarrassing. :/
fuck off
Jamazon why does that matter? obviously his channel is legit without a high end pc
I get it, he's not a big pc guy and that's fine. I just thought it was a bit silly to not mention specs at all. I feel like he could've done a little bit of research ahead of time too
I can't hear Framemeister without thinking about Lord Karnage :D
Marco Ak Hey Marco I'm Marco
And you have a very similar avatar. Well, this is disturbing.
LOL same
Are you familiar with My Life in Gaming? They talk about it in nearly every video.
Marco Ak ikr. Where are you from?
Hmmm is that a certain NES guide book at 34:00 ?
Pat the NES Punk love your book! Where can i buy it? Keep going man!!
+Pat the NES Punk I think that NES guide book got 5 stars from a certain NES Guide Book author!
+Valerio Occhiuzzi
on his website i think.
nice job Pat =)
That book is mighty impressive.
7:55 there are FOUR lights!!! Gotta love a captain Picard reference thanks Mike.
7:50
Great episode
I was thinking the exact same thing when he said from the episode where Picard had been captured and was being tortured and the guy kept asking him how many lights he saw
Don’t forget that 1701 monitor...
Gotta have that beaver game
James is lucky to have you as part of the Cinemassacre team. You obviously put a lot of effort into the videos.
I'm slowly getting my set up started and seeing this makes me quite motivated, we're in the process of building a lounge room in our basement so I'm pretty excited. Watching this really helps even today.
I would really like to see your vintage toys collection
Evan Riley What are you going to do with it lol ?! 😈😈😈
I dunno man, he's just a really handsome man. Really want some of his man bazooka juice!
That was actually very interesting.Watching the videos it can be deceiving to think you guys just pop in a game, play, and do a quick edit job to put it up. This shows just how much time and work is involved. Plus, it's a total geek dream to have all that stuff set up.
Just seeing the boxes of those old Super Nintendo and NES games makes me teary-eyed. That's how freakin nostalgic it is to me! Nothing beats all those gaming memories from your childhood. That really was the good old days!
The Snes Box collection was such a treat to see. It makes me wanna start collectiong SNES and NES again.
Damn good set up man
Damn that room must get hot as hell.
CapnPicard the electricity bill must be through the roof
Nice to see you guys still get thousands of views on the same day with whatever content you guys like.
Real OG youtubers and ya'll deserve it
Dude, you have no idea how stoked I am that you made this video!
Thank you so much, this will help me and all the video stuff I want to do.
two couches! mind blown
Monopoly lol doesn't give a shit about all of the tech XD
+Johnster Nope! Mind blown thinking I was watching them on the same couch this whole time.
Yeah, I'd noticed the posters switching but I thought he just rearranged them every so often, or that in their excitement/rage at the games they accidentally knocked them down and just put them back up differently.
Boy, I have 4 couches and no one's mind has been blown yet
Ristar the Shooting Star Mind blown x4!
Mike is such a nice guy
yeah ikr he sounds like a true friend that would stick up for you and hell even support you if you have truble, issues in life or to start up somethign big.
I respect Mike for what a great friend he is to James and without Mike we may have not get so much content on this channel.
Can you handle all of that? It's so much to fap.
its too fucking big
How did his comment turn out into this @@
FireBomberBassist It's a two hand+mouth type of job but I can do it!
Love the setup and your gaming dedication. It's overwhelming to have every console but you did it. Great video too! I learned a lot more about the history of gaming. Hope to continue seeing more videos of you and James. Thanks Mike.
I'm so use to seeing stuff from James, but now that you manage the channel, I've been really drawn to your videos. Your set up and collection is insane, and I'm like a moth to the flame, love watching this stuff. Your live streams are kickass and half the guys I show your videos to crack up everytime. Keep up the good work Mike. Like I said, always look forward to new videos from you.
about 23:50 mike lists off some of my favorite snes games. good list!
This is my couch. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
Really enjoyed this video Mike. Thanks for the behind the scenes look at the set up and the different games and consoles.
Talk about dedication! Thanks for showing us the game room, Mike.
Mike beat me to the "There are four lights!"
dam man I don't even wanna see your electrical bill
to be honest I am getting a surge protector that has switched for every outlet so I can power only what I'm playing so I don't power what I'm not using
I love these behind the scenes videos. Can't wait for more!
Great Video. Those old consoles bring back so many memories. I used to have a Commodore 64 and played BC's Quest for Tires on it. It was so great to see that game again.
mike you should make a video of all of your artwork since you earned a degree in animation
Fred Fuchs 4 lyfe
the nostalgia feels are crazy in this video! Thanks Mike!
Amazing set up! Love it when you do these kinds of videos!!! I don't have anywhere near as many consoles but it's so helpful to see not only alternate ways to set them up but also just little things I've never seen before like the laser disc game or the Atari 400!
I always wondered why the sets seemed to keep changing. So the set with the wood paneling, the rotary phone and whatnot, is that Ryan's setup?
James place has the Nerd room. Wood paneling, futon.
My house is the one in this video.
Ryan's set up has the wood paneled walls with the old phone and lamp. He also has another area with blue/grey foam backdrop where we film Talk About Games sometimes.
Thanks for watching! -Mike
You're so welcome! So, my suspicions were correct. I think I've got everybody's set straight now. Thanks, Mike.
***** Ryan's married, which puts him well past most 'basement dwelling nerds', and if you know women you know she ain't putting up with livin' in no momma's basement.
That's a superb setup! ..nice to see an Amiga CD32 there, you need to get an Amstrad GX4000 :)
It's awesome to see your game room and set up, thanks for giving us a detailed tour of it! :)
it's so satisfying having a set up that looks so confusing to other people, but you know every little nuance yourself. I have a music set up that is quite similar
Well, now you kinda have a fantastic hardware (like framemeister), but you feed it with worst possible quality video signal (composite). Most (but not all) consoles can do so much better with rgb. You just need proper cables...
Most of the consoles needs to be moded to output RGB.
I noticed it few months ago: they have Framemeister and feed it with composite... I don't know who advised him to buy a Framemeister, but he should tell him that he needs SCART for this...
Also: he's clearly a newbie to Windows :P
Recommended watching, My Life in Gaming rgb-series. Actually there are not so many consoles, that need modding. But sure, there are a few. Even an s-video is a huge improvement from composite.
Chuck Grody
Yeah, I might have gone too far with "most". Still, they do a lot of NES, and it requires modding.
Agreed, but we also have to remember, that I don't believe Mike is so much technologically minded :) I mean, he just got into the whole PC-thing. Also, "whole USA" woke-up to RGB and scart just a few years ago. But I hope, that Mike checks these things out. Because the aftermath of that, is better quality videos for us all (including himself, when he want's to enjoy the older games with better picture quality)!
True. Time to but scart cables for the retro systems. They are only like $20 each for a quality made cable.
"The keys are loud"
That's the whole point of the keyboard! Loud and satisfying.
He probably got Cherry Blue, they're loud
*Can't delete*
downscale
Yes, we understand this, hence my post.
Ew to hell with that, I'd rather mostly silent but satisfying to click. Browns at the very least.
FUTURE10S
I use browns, best for typing and gaming.
Great video for anyone looking to either get into or improve their live recording! I'm really digging the Cinemassacre Expanded Universe.
Extremely interesting video. Makes me appreciate the amount of work you guys do even more after watching these types of videos. Groovy...
"They're just very very difficult"
I've never finished Empire without cheats.
maybe dont buy a mechanical keyboard
Or just use brown switches., same amazing feel without the loud click.
They're better for typing because you can glide your fingers over the keys easier. Raised keys are better for gaming because they give you a more rigid hold for your fingers. Also, typically flat keyboards don't have Macros.
Brown switches with o rings to keep it from bottoming out...perfect for quiet gaming.
But without the click, where is the fun and rhythm?
Maybe it's too late for your pointless "advice".
I really enjoy this whole Cinemassacre production.
And Mike, I appreciate the quantity of content you put on on this site.
The quality of content is well appreciated too.
But you have done a great job of making this channel abundant and diverse in focus.
It reminds me of those old public broadcasted shows. Like "Computer Chronicles". Which was a sweet show.
Enjoyed watching the video, Mike! Awesome setup, and I wish to see more of your game collection in future videos!
How did you afford all this? Did you make that much money being a dirk diggler stunt double?
lololol
It's one of those things...Metal Jesus probably said it best. People in our age group are getting to a 'stable' point in our professional lives and are picking up games we couldn't have back then. These games were very very expensive back then...and all had different prices in the $60 to $80 range, mostly based off the memory capacity of the cart. Our parents simply couldn't afford it back then. The next generation of family typically is better off than their parents. We want these games..and spending $100 once or twice or three or four times in a month really isn't that expensive. We have the scampers to thank though for these absurdly high prices though. Fuck them assholes.
Whether we 'should' be spending $500 to $1000 per month on retro gaming or 'stuff' in general is another topic though and isn't appropriate here.
KWKBOX he can probably write all that stuff off as it is for work
Games are meant to be played for hours too. I read somewhere that it takes the average player 7hrs to beat Super Mario World. You can pick up that game for $15 and play it for three or four days. It will cost me $20 to take my girlfriend to see Doctor Strange tomorrow and we will be entertained for less than 2 hours.
True True
you should invest in rgb scart cables to get full quality out of your consoles and your framemeister.
Two couches, that's a pretty awesome behind the scenes share! I had started to wonder how some of the episodes were done, chronologically, with the changing and changing back backgrounds and other differences. That's a pretty cool solution to your problem. I applaud your creativity. Thanks for sharing.
I really enjoy videos like this. Definitely want to see more.
Where do you keep your horse condoms Mike?
Definitely a good setup, my setup is not as professional. Great video though Mike!
Thanks. My wires are a mess though, I know. But that's because I'm constantly unhooking things and moving stuff around. So there doesn't seem to be a way to do much about it. Anyway, thanks for watching! -Mike
Cinemasaccre
Hey mike, when do you start making livestream again...? (I'm your new sub)
I just recommend using zip ties and what not to tie cords together and then label them for certain stuff. it's how i get past my computer cable mess
That's brutally awesome how it's all set up!
That was really cool of Mike to go on a tangent and give a shout out to his boy, Pat, about his book. Also, great video, Mike!
great video Mike. I thought about collecting NES. At this point it's not worth it . Games are far too expensive
kingkold I still have my NES collection, along with the complete NES library on my computer. I use my emulator to play games. I don't have a webcam yet, someday I will. Mike has live streaming devices, not Bandicam, but Insee people using Bandicam and mirrored other videos to RUclips. Keep in mind.
Nice to see Mike appreciate FF III/VI. JRPGs don't get discussed much on Cinemassacre but glad to hear Mike likes some. Even better than Link to the Past? That's saying alot, especially how biased these guys tend to be towards Nintendo sometimes. I definitely agree tho, FFVI is a very special game to me too.
SoldSanke yeah this and Chrono Trigger... best Games ever made. he even has that Kefka lego figure
Oh man, Chrono Trigger, gonna play that one again soon, it never gets old.
This was a great video to watch, I would love to see mike pick up random games from his collection and talk about them more.
Seeing and hearing Mike narrate with camera in hand I half expected him to say "21 Gigawatts". lol. This set up is amaze.
used to play ZOOL in primary school on shitty acorn PCs
mate zool was a quality game you're lucky, the acorns at my primary school only had some shitty point and click adventure game where you get creeped up on by some fucking pedo monster or some shit haha
***** I remember it being really fun. the only other acorn game we had was this strange helicopter game. Looked like an atari game hah.
Anthony Shuker I just got zool the other day on snes
Nvm haha zoop
Zool was amazing on Amiga.
Why did the console peasant cross the road? To render the buildings on the other side.
Hilarious and original.
To play fun games.
He's not really a peasant if he has a Commodore64 and Apple II...Just saying.
Mac Canma Most of the best games of all time came out exclusively on console. Yes I know there are emulators now, I am talking about original releases.
I was joking...I grew up on the NES and SNES , but today consoles are a JOKE !
Just started watching your channel and wanted to say that you guys are awesome! Keep up the great work :)
Excellent setup, and thank you for explaining how to use the video capture equipment, it was all quite impressive!
I just ordered a copy of Pat's NES guide book as well, thanks to your sharing. ^_^
You rock Mike, can't wait to see more of what you do!
Being a musician saying "I've got a Sennheiser mic... idk which one but a good one is." Is kind of like saying to a retro gamer "I've got a Nintendo... idk which one, but an old one" Not completely comparable, but it's a little bit funny to me. Even though I'm ignoring his Behringer mixer, but that's kind of standard. (Not that his mic isn't, I'm just being a shithead.)
His setup is fine for vocal work, what i saw as alarming was his mixer gain levels all pegged to 10. Im surprised its not distorting. Or picking up am radio!
Shame that Mike is only using Composite video for all his consoles, should really be using RGB to get a superior picture quality
I'm working on that. It's an involved process with so many systems. - Mike
Thanks for the video, Mike...and thanks for doing what you guys do!
Awesome collection. So many memories when I look at your collection. I wish I would have kept my systems.
Count how many times Mike says Um in the video.
James is even worse
Too much math.
About 34 times (I actually tried to count and lost track at about 34 so yeah maybe 47 around there actually)
How is Yoshi's Island a "much harder super mario world"? It plays nothing like Mario World.
It's Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. It's a prequel.
Japanese title: Super Mario: Yoshi Island.
Kaiser GX
Now you just butchered it. If you're going to translate it like that you need to change Super and Island as well to romanized text.
Kaiser GX
I am sorry.
This is an awesome brew of new and oldschool equipment that makes the nerd in me really happy. Cool video and setup, Mike! It might be messy but that doesn't make it any less impressive haha. Some day when I get a nice spacious place I want to make a game room similar to this!
Such a wonderful detailed tour! 😀
There are five lights btw
There... are... FOUR LIGHTS!
People are always telling Mike when he is fighting a boss:
There... are... FOUR FORMS!
FOUR FORMS!!!!
FF3 or Chrono Trigger livestream please.
I'd rather watch Final Fantasy VI
you know the drill
Chrono Trigger was leagues better than FFVI
Bridgeman I meant I rather see it that FF3 for the NES.
That's a beautiful setup Mike. Keep up the good work!
That was great Mike. I'd love a part 2
Stop hooking up your consoles with AV xD
id rather have them all bagged/boxed up in a quick swap style filing system and just plug in the one I'm using each episode. Having them all setup like that is too messy imo, I'd possibly display the console but keep the cables in the quick swap bays to grab when needed.
downscale oh because you need to make RUclips videos to have knowledge or even a differing opinion. I opened your page to see if there was videos about being a bit of a knob. Love ya buddy 😂
Very cool to see behind the curtain on what all goes into making these types of videos. Very jealous I'm envious of his collection and set up of all the consoles. All I have is emulators maybe one day I can have a setup like this
Nice that's an awesome collection, watching this brought back memories of playing a lot of these great games, Final Fantasy III was outstanding.
OMG did you just assume that HDMI cable's gender!?
well he is a fucking white male afterall
Technically if its got something to put in something it's a male cable, and if it's the receiving dock it's a female cable. That's actually how it works which is strange.
***** so its rape?
***** but your just a fuckin white male! and your abilest too because your typing!!!! do you think blind people and people without arms can do that?!!! your oppressing them!
Hilarious and original, Mr. Meme Regurgitator.
fuckin emulate. Im pretty sure ull be able to either find adapters for your old controllers, or just use current consoles controllers. Its gonna do u the "i wanna sit on a couch with a controller in my hands" and u wont need THIS FUCK DOUBLE CABLE MESS.
1 pc does everything, thats why computers r better than consoles. U dont need 30 consoles plugged in, just fuckin emulate.
And u like thing MORE, not BETTER.
Yeah but cable management like that is fun XD
PETARDAwNABIAL have fun emulating that one arcade game that no one can port, and have fun playing shantae(gbc version) on an emulator
*****
my grammar is perfect and having a better way to play those games doesnt require them to stop collecting old cartridges. They made it their job, its about time they made improvements to their workplace.
Liam Freeman
have fun having any1 care about it enough to get it and make a video about it.
Stop living in the past. New games r better
You don't get nostalgia, do you?
Thanks for the tour Mike! i enjoyed this alot :)
Please make a part 2...This was awesome mike!!!
can't believe i watched the whole video, good job mike!
Mike, Another great tour video! I have 33 console hooked up in my game room and I feel you on those wires! I recommend switching to RGB Scart; I had 3 of those 8 switch composite boxes and I wasn't satisfied with the quality on my HDTV. They looked great on the CRT, but having the X-RGB Mini makes the consoles look great through RGB on an HDTV. I even rgb-modded my Atari 2600 and I couldn't be happier with the picture quality! It cost around $400 for the new cables and switch boxes for RGB scart, but it was worth it! From one serious collector to another, I highly recommend it! Keep up the amazing work!
I haven't seen those SNES game boxes in a long, long time. They are beautiful.
this was mad interesting i loved it wen you showed yo set up last time and it was good this time keep us updated..!!
Between my bro and you I'm really inspired more than every to complete my collections
Thats one helluva collection, Mike. Awesome video.
I really like that you showed us this. I have been collecting for awhile and always feel guilty that my wires were all over the place. It's good to see I am not the only one. Regarding the Atari Computers and the CD32, I love those systems! Would love to see more reviews on them! Great work!
I loved this, it's the video that I didn't know I needed
Man Mike, a lot more effort and money goes into the steaming then I thought. Thanks for the video and all the other content you and the nerd bring us.
Mike's so excited for Episode 9 that he can't even wait for episode 8!
That's an awesome setup! I watched because I thought this was a review for the AVS.
I use those same composite splitters lol. They're so convenient, plus the click they make is satisfying.
