    Haven’t finished the vid yet but I just had to take a moment to acknowledge Pepsiman! I had no idea that was even a thing, it’s so ridiculous and I’m obsessed. Learn something new everyday I guess. Also your room is so cool it’s clear you and your husband have a true love for games and preserving the history while also using them for their intended purpose and allowing them to bring you joy. So many collectors are all about the preservation and getting things just to have them and not so much about actually using them for fun which is the whole reason the games exist in the first place. Thanks for sharing!

    • @TeamRetro
      @TeamRetro  3 года назад +2

      Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I know RIGHT Pepsi Man is by far the coolest game I've learnt about in the past 5 or so years. Bloody love the game.
      We definitely love games and wish to preserve but we understand the importance of enjoying what you own. It's great to come in here and chill out - just enjoying every piece! Have a wonderful day

      Retro Gamer Girl it was PS1 games, most aren't too expensive, so it could have been worse. Saw Dune and Theme Hospital on the shelves, you didn't even mention them, but I nabbed them. Loaded is another. I love some of those console variants you have, but I would quickly run out of space, so I have to resist that temptation.

    Thanks for the tour, room looks really great, laid out/organised really well. You both obviously love your games and associated gaming material.
    So love the pinball machines, can't quite afford to get one of those yet, but I have been more blessed with Arcade cabinets and boards, so not complaining.
    Love the PVM, would love to get one of those at stage (hard to get due to freight costs down here in Tassie).
    I switched to purely collecting Japanese based titles a few years ago and haven't regretted it, worth it for the cover art and packaging alone.
    Using Cassette covers with printed inlays for the Gameboy games is a brilliant idea - they look really cool. I have my Gameboy games in a folder with trading card sleeves at the moment.
    Cheers from a fellow Aussie collector (well South Island :)). Yes and I am slack, both behind on videos and I haven't done a room tour for two years now.

      Hey mate! Thanks for watching my video and taking the time to comment. We really do love our games and i'm glad it does come across. We enjoy film and music too so it's a nice space to watch an old movie or listen to some 90's music while gaming.
      The PVM was def a holy grail item for both of us. It was a dream to always find one and we got lucky with two. Up here in QLD they are hard to come by and freight is expensive. I can't imagine though Tassie that would be a pain.
      Yeah the cassette covers come out really good! Check out the channel NES Complex. Great stuff and he inspired me to do it!
      Thanks again for tuning in and hello from Queensland :)

    Hey, matty from south coast nsw. A truly amazing collection, especially an Australian collection. I think it's a lot harder in oz because of the smaller population and we simply didn't get the variety or number of products like the Us. Well unless we jump on ebay and buy everything, but that's not collecting. That is buying, yes it is nice to buy those few things you lost or use too own and want again. But there's nothing like finding those gems in the wild. Tips,op shops,garage sales, roadside trash and best of all those that survived the roller coaster of your life. well done guys, never forget your youth and what makes you happy. And how simple life was.

      @@TeamRetro Me too! I have 10 kits as of right now and counting. I've limited myself to playstation exclusives only. Just because they cost so much. There are a few GOW kits on ebay right now actually. Unfortunately they go for alot around 300-400$ USD. That last of us kit you have is by far the most expensive kit though. They go for around 1,200-1,300$. You're very lucky to have had that sent to you by a friend. Whoever that was is a really good person! :)

      Oh I know so grateful that our friend wanted to share that with us. It's a piece that is so important to us and feel so lucky every time we look at it that he offered to gift it to us. That video is on the channel under Mystery Box from the UK if you want to check it out :)

      @@TeamRetro Oh nice I definitely will check it out then! That's the one kit I'll probably never get my hands on. I just bought the last of us clicker statue off ebay. Super excited to get in. Will be the first and probably only last of us collectible in my collection. Anything the last of us is just always so expensive.
      I'm pretty sure ebay is worldwide as well. If I'm not mistaken one of the sellers for the GOW kit is in Australia. I buy my kits from countries all over the world. The UK, Russia, Australia, Germany, France, Brazil. Never once found one for sale here in the states interestingly enough. I guess the press here like to keep and collect their kits I'm not sure lol.

    Man, what a collection. I, honestly, don't understand the need for so many variations of consoles so. I can see a PS4 and then a PS4 Pro but, having several of the same console seems.... Pretty crazy. Perhaps why society isn't having kids these days, they'd rather spend it on tech. Me? I want to have kids and watch them grow up loving tech and I get to teach them all about technology and gaming history. If youve ever seen MY RETRO LIFEs channel, it's all about him and his dad bonding over common interests and his dad teaching him everything about gaming, and what is he doing now as a dad? You see his daughters huge interest and watching Nintendo Tree House and her getting excited over Splatoon, it's amazing! And he's a good guy and has an awesome daughter because the their fear of raising a kid in such a corrupt society, it all starts in the home. "Teach them correct principles and when they're old, they don't depart from them" and you see them all having fun. Where's your kids to enjoy it all with you? That's the big pay off.
    I just can't get over how horrible PAL games are and I loathe having to have one in my collection and it's my only option because the US doesn't get physical copies of everything like Asia does, that's frustrating. But, having a PAL game is like having a GREATEST HITS version. Their PEGI stamp is ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS! and it's stamped everywhere on the box. But even the stamp on the front is just there and in a bold color and just looks ugly. An NTSC-U has a simple black and white stamp in the same location on the front and a descriptor on the back. The only issue is, now, for whatever dumb reason, is it's in multiple languages....... In the United States we speak American English. We don't need Spanish and French on it, this isn't Europe, it's the United States of America, ENGLISH. We didn't go through all of the wars of the colonies to speak the Queen's English or the Spanish butchers, or the French that allowed themselves to fall under a dictator, what are you gonna start putting Northern and Southern English on game packaging next? Oh yeah, physical medias dying. It's just sad to see beautiful game box art stamped with a horrendous notification, maybe why so many Euros are trying to knab NTSC-U versions driving up the cost for collectors in the States. Who knows.
    Cool collection though!

    • @TeamRetro
      @TeamRetro  9 месяцев назад

      Well collecting different variants is something I / we enjoy. All of them have been unboxed and used as they were new (ps4s) and then different colours in the PS3 are great to own. Again, how I collect can be very different to others but everyone's collection is equally as important. I feel you are preserving a piece in time. I do like My Retro Life's channel great content and he is so lucky to have all of those memories on film. If I had a camera back then I know it would have been filmed.
      As for children before making an observation or comment perhaps consider if people can have them or why they don't.
      Ahh on the PAL games in Australia I don't disagree the rating system changed and it is even bigger than the PEGI one so it detracts from the artwork. Search Spyro on the PS4 as an example it looks awful here in Australia.
      Thanks for watching.

    13:30 my model of the sega was very different, it was like a square size with 2 red buttons on front there was not switch clip on the left side and the controler ports were very much in the middle of the system. It may have been a second model of the system. I even had the master system converter which goes on top of the system.
