Really awesome reliving why I loved Def Leppard. 1983 I was a sophomore in a po-dunk town in Rosamond, California (there was around 50 people in my graduation class). All my friends we talking about MTV and the only videos I would be able to see was on Headbanger's Ball and sometimes it was so snowy you cannot see the video. But I remember me and my sister falling head over heels for the guys (cannot pick just one guy as my favorite because I love them all) watching Photograph & Foolin' and absolutely going nuts. I think back those days how shitty my life would have been without this band's music. I remember being so devastated when I learned about Rick Allen's accident. I gained so much love and respect for the guys in this band in helping Rick recover from the accident. I have seen Def Leppard in concert (I even have a Meet & Greet picture a few times now and I continue to love listening to them to this day. Thank you Def Leppard for keep on making us fans happy. We all love you!!!
My God this band has a unique sound they sound phenomenal and like The Doors when you hear that first stunning note you know exactly who it is and Rip Steve you were on a different level musicly very very talented thank you very much. Thanks for posting this have a good day everyone.
In the "VHI Behind the Music" the Lady & Gentleman Who Heard Rick's Crash & Came to Help Were Interviewed. If I Remember correctly, she was a Retired Nurse & he was a Retired Police Officer, it was So Emotional, Overwhelming, & Heartfelt. I Cried Like a Baby!
Rock Brigade blew me away when it was released. Then High and Dry quickly became my favorite record. And it held that place till pyromania came out. So I've been and Def Leppard fan a lotta years!
Soooooo fxxking gooood... This was a GREAT docu, and it really brought me back to when Def Leppard was a part of my everyday life (bourned in the mid-60s)... Bringing back ALL kind of memories: I played High and Dry in the intercom of my first workplace (Hammarplast), passed out happy on Vodka and pot by the Lake Tiken while "Billys got a gun" was on the blaster, and had the best sxx of my life while "Pour some suger on me" was playing... and yes - she actually did... Thanx for sharing 🙏 Love from Sweden 💖
Very touching scenes when rick visits the crash scenes. I share his pain, i aint lost a whole arm but have lost a finger and a half and have continued to play the drums
@@PeaveyPV20 it's inspiring you didn't give up. You had decided to get used to playing drums the new way instead. I'm happy you had the drive and felt that was what you should do - not to give up, even though it's harder to hold the drumsticks with less fingers, I guess. I wish you good luck bro. Keep progressing but most importantly, keep having fun every time you play! 😊
Since I first heard them High N Dry, I have always enjoyed the Pete Willis version of Def Leppard, including Pyromania. I do own their following albums too, and enjoy some of those songs, the early Def Lep just rocks my way. Pete Willis, the guy that founded the band. 🤘😜🤘
I highly doubt that it's because of Joe, lol. it's likely because of legal contract and more probably Steve (RIP) and the other guys, which you never see taking jabs.
@@bakeNeatDef leppard are probably the only band I can think of that never argue about money and contracts. I’m sure Joe 100% as well as the others would never be grudge Pete of his royalties.
I remember seeing this at the time it aired back in 89, and that part where Rick breaks down when it's back at the field where he first stood up after realising his arm had been severed, broke me in pieces (being a drummer myself now as I was back then) and seeing it again now after all these tears, still tears me up. Poor lad! Somewhere out there, there's a person that was driving that Alpha Romeo car that provoked him into reacting the way he did. I wonder if they feel any guilt at all? I have wondered that for years. If I recall, the Police did pull someone in about it, but they denied all culpability.
@@tinasally379 I think it could be 50/50 he tells people about it as a brag “I got the drummer from Def Leopard to lose his arm” or he’s never spoke of it since.
I wonder if the person driving that Alfa Romeo who caused Rick Allen's accident knows about it, or if they've ever come forward. Must be a hell of a thing to have on your conscience.
I m sure they know, it was all over the news. Chances are they don't care since they were being assholes to trying race on a dangerous road. I think it was like in the country not a freeway.
So pretty much it's unsolved but I guarantee you the person that started that the whole incident knows who Rick Allen is to this day and I bet it bothers him still!!!! Well maybe not since he has never come forward about it but you know he thinks about it...and I bet he has been to a Def Leppard concert too ..
I will be uploading a 4k version of this documentary in the next day or two. Every scene has been meticulously enhanced to 4k with great details such as eyes and hair avoiding the plastic look which is othen associated with upscales. The latest version of Topaz Video AI has been used incorporating different enhancements based on the scene type. Several of the music videos have been extended and the audio improved in many areas where there was mono soundtracks are now stereo. It now includes the Elvira mistress of the dark intro too which has had the same enhancement. I will post the link here when available.

Phil is great! He can also sing amazing. I never understand the hate for Phil.Yes they went more commercial but I also mutt had a hand in that too. Ya don’t work with a producer like him and not want to sell 10s of millions of albums and play stadiums. That’s exactly what they did. They never denied that.I think Phil fits the band better in that respect. Pete was great! No denying it. I think the band was moving at 100mph and Pete had problems adjusting to that
