  • Thank you all for following us to this final video. In this video we discuss the final cost of building our 1966 Bronco from the ground up. We have tried to show every step of the way on this build. Our build cost is based on receipts in hand not just a guess. We figure we have more than 3000 hours in the build.     Thanks for being honest with your build cost it means a lot to us bronco builder's anyone can buy a 50k jeep and go wheeling broncos are built with love and respect for the classics. I will continue to reference your videos throughout my 66 build thanks again.

    I've enjoyed every video. being a Bronco guy myself (74 Bronco), it was nice to see the project come together and to watch you figure out things. I'm big into RC monster trucks and people don't understand how much time and money it cost to build things!! I've been there with my kids (2 boys and 3 girls) they grow up fast!!! Now I have 12 grandkids that I can pass on knowledge and enjoy with them, that I did with my kids.

    Thanks for sharing the build. As someone restoring a '66, I've found all of them really helpful. Greatly appreciate all the knowledge and you both should be very proud of what you've accomplished. Sad to see them come to end but I'm sure you're happy it's finished.

    I always look forward to your videos and will miss the fairly regular updates on your Bronco build, but I do understand needing to spend more time with your family. I know it takes a lot of time and dedication to finish a project of this magnitude. Making videos to document what you've done only adds to that total, but all of us building or looking forward to building one of these early Broncos sends heartfelt thanks for all of the info you've provided. I hope you will keep posting on occasion to keep us updated on future projects, and hopefully meet up at some Bronco/car events in the future.

I’m building two 1973 broncos…this year,,but don’t need the extensive bodywork yours need it..mine are really clean ca. broncos with zero rust issues..but I’ll be going through everything else…Good Luck on what’s Next in Life

    I kind of came in a bit late on your build as I started building mine last Oct. but I wanted to thank you both so much as well as your daughters, I have 2 teen girls so I felt some of the points made very close to home. You're not only a great example of a Wife/Husband but also parents and at the end of the day, while these builds fill me and give me purpose, much like it seems Jason, family will always come first.
    Best of luck to you all and whatever you decide to do with the Bronco is the right decision!

    I'm going to miss this so much! I was looking so forward to watching the next project, but I completely understand as I have two kids myself. Good luck in your next adventure! $54,000 + (3000hr x $25/hr=$75,000) x 20% profit = $154,800. Doesn't seem unreasonable at all to me! Hope you get every penny!

    You built this bronco to last a lifetime. if you sell, your buyer will be able to see the care taken and the value you provided in your amazing craftsmanship. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us on your awesome build. Sidenote: My oldest got in 2 fender benders one year after she started to drive. may I please recommend something with automatic braking and not a family heirloom!

    Only 7 months late… but just thought of you guys tonight and realized I never thanked you. You guys inspired my son, and I to take on a rebuild of a jeep XJ, what a mistake. Not the working together with my son… but the fact we bought an XJ and not a bronco! My son and both loved your attention to detail. As a father 4 I completely understand the time we need to spend with the family. I just wanted to thank you for all time and effort putting out the video’s. We’ll be waiting for ya when Joanie approves a new project vehicle, of course, once your honey-do house list is done, or done enough 😊… All the best

    Great video as always, but sad to see you move on. I totally get it. You should be proud on what you have accomplished, and the detailed, valuable repository of information, techniques and approaches to the early Bronco build process, and building in general you have added to this medium. I’m about your age, and feel I’ve learned so much from you,…such an incredible accomplishment in giving back to the hobby for us DYI’ers to learn from your experiences and knowledge.     My build will probably hit that as well. Spread out over 3-4 years easily 50k. One thing though is that they are paid for. At the end of the day you own it.

    Thanks for sharing the cost of your build and all your knowledge throughout your build. It has helped me out greatly with my 72 Bronco build. One tip is to buy as many parts as you can at once, this will save a ton on shipping which is very expensive and adds alot to your total build costs.
    I'm about 80% thru my complete restoration. Total spent so far just on parts is 79K, probably 10K to go but I did buy a crate engine and transmission. I only paid $1400 for the rig in 2018!
    I was hoping to see you work on your 2 gen Bronco! A 78 is my next rig.
    One question, where did you get your interior door panels from?

      Thanks Craig! Yes the price adds up quickly. Also, I did the same as far as ordering parts. Usually I would order around black Friday and get lots of stuff. I covered the original panels with upholstery that matched the seats. I just did it last week. I really like how they turned out. I guess we should have recorded it but I just didn't have it in me.

That will give me a good idea of how much beyond initial purchase I should expect to invest in this restoration.. Thanks.

We followed your lead and are in the process of switching our best top bikini top out for the best top soft top----making the 15+ hour drive to Townsend and stressing about rain, wasn't ever an option!     The bronco is gorgeous, 50k seems reasonable for what you’ve built. For one, I’d never sell it, and two it’s over 100k bronco at this point.

      We sold it. We did ok on the sell not as good as some folks have done. It was about the build mostly. Jonie and I got to spend a lot of time together on it. It was worth it.
