I daily drive one for a couple of years. I put an injected 5.0 in it and no more gas smell or fumes, lol. And the power and gas mileage improvement is awesome.
I had a 1975. It was, BY FAR, the best car I ever owned. It never gave off fumes. I would NEVER consider removing the 4X4 anymore than I would buy the Mona Lisa and tamper with her smile. The tailgate can be EASILY fixed not to rattle. Man, I don't think you know what you have!
I daily my 74 Bronco. 1988 Mustang 5.0, AC, Ford AOD transmission and 4 layers of sound proofing (took me 3 months) Life is too short to drive a boring car!
I have a 73 Bronco and a couple 70s motorcycles. I grew up in the 70s before emission controls. You have no Idea how bad it was being stuck on the highway just sitting there breathing all that in.......I love that smell now😊. Reminds me of my youth.❤
That was just cars back then... and people daily drove them all the time. I daily drove my bronco all through college and made 300 mile round trips home. Might have to turn a wrench occasionally but it always got me there.
great video! Just bought my 2nd ford bronco last week. The last one I had previously I sold several years ago and acquired my 1972 last week. Can't wait to get it restored
OMG, I have a 1972 Bronco and always smell like gas too!! I'm glad it's not just me. Mine is still a 3 on the tree so I just use it for trips around town.
Only a 20 something worries about gas and mpg ! If you got a complaint about gas, complain to the DEMS they’re responsible for the higher prices! GREEEN 😂
i have a '71 Blazer and a '68 Bronco. and I do agree with a lot of what you say here. for example, the Blazer has leafs at all 4 corners and it's lifted so the ride is quite punishing. people do put catalytic conv. on these, haven't heard if it helps with the exhaust getting on you. the lack of headliner and all the tin in the cab will make it noisy in there. a carpet and some rear side panels may help. my '68 has a 4R70W auto tran, EFI, power steering, front disk brakes and it's really only good for 10-15 minutes to work and back as a daily. not even on the highway where the noise would be worse. good luck as you make changes to yours.
Install catalytic converters. Despite what people think, modern catalytic converter only marginally reduce power output (3-5% at most), so unless you have a drag or race car where any impact on power output matters, there’s no reason not to install them on something you drive regularly. Knocks down the noxious gases and smells so you and your vehicle don’t smell like a lawn mower 👍🏼
I should add that cats on carbureted motors are tricky so ideally, you’ll want something electronically controlled to ensure the fuel mixture is proper and exhaust heat stays in an ideal zone
Well, nice to see/hear you Ricky. You've been entirely too quiet!😉 The Bronco is great, but ultimately it's a toy. A Big Boy "toy" none-the-less, but not a good daily or family ride. FWIW, I wouldn't throw it out of my garage.I love toys, ALL toys! 😁 Stay safe, stay well and always, Save the Wave👋
I have a 1973 Bronco mostly original. Both gas tanks have been replaced because they are notorious for leaking. This is not’s daily driver and never will be. Just for fun and turning heads. Anyway Enjoy.
Ford screwed up 3 times. When they stopped making the 78, the 96, and then whatever that 2020 fake model is. I made my 78 a daily driver and never looked back. I never anticipated the attention I am getting, I just know what makes sense, V8, loud, safe, short wheel base, lots of torque. And apparently, these engines will run forever, and since mine is rebuilt, mine will outlast all these other turds on the road. I don't believe in these modern upgrades, because nothing beats the experience of all the very underrated original design. Today's mechanics cannot even figure out how to fix something as simple as a rear tailgate window mechanism literally made 50 years ago. It is a sign that no one really knows anything anymore. All that knowledge is lost. It takes someone mechanically minded just to own one of these beasts. Beasts Of The Road.
I drove one for years and I NEVER smelled like fuel, not even once.....???? It was the best vehicle I ever owned.
Your blessed even with the “problems” these things are solid and dream someday to get one...and get out of a modern car that I hate

Check your gas expansion tank in the back of the driver side door its probably cracked thats why it smells

That’s amazing!!! Those were my intentions and I guess I could never get it

Had my first gen Bronco for 30 years with no fuel smell. Maybe you have a fuel line or exhaust leak?
Still makes me want to daily one🔥
That was just cars back then... and people daily drove them all the time. I daily drove my bronco all through college and made 300 mile round trips home. Might have to turn a wrench occasionally but it always got me there.
That’s why y’all boomers always wildin
@@be.A.b lol I’m a millennial 😉
I modeled the exterior of my '74 after yours with a few exceptions. Now taking care of details like the fuel smell. Thanks for your videos!
Haha thanks! Check out my other bronco video. Quite different than this one

All those complaints are correctable. Sounds like you bought a pretty ride, but not built right at all! My 71 is a dream to drive.
I have a 71 and 73. Love them.
Something wrong, I had 3 and never smelt fuel
Love that old bronco and the color !

They sell a cable kit for the tailgate that gets rid of the noise. 👍
Beautiful truck!
Buen video bro!! Interesting
Saludos 🖖🏾
Looks very clean
Nice Bronco how many car collection do you own? and how old does it feel like driving a old school classics of hot rods?
I’m daily driving my 68 I never smell like fuel? However I have no doors or top currently 🤷🏻♂️
Visually it is beautiful, very tastefully done. The 4x4 issue has to be corrected though.
Definitely agree. Previous owner had it just to cruise around south beach. Even then, 4x4 should’ve never been removed
I agree.... What’s a Bronco with no 4 wheel drive? It’s like a bulldog with no testicles. Nice Bronco bro
Yeah. Nice problems to have man. Good channel.

Nice ride bro. I Want 78-79 bronco and am going to get it. Do I need it? No but it's the coolest looking vehicle in my opinion haha.
I’ve got a 1970 bronco and I don’t come away smelling like fuel. Cool bronco

Is there a way to remedy the “smelling like fuel” issue?
proper carb adjustment, and make sure your pcv system is installed... other than that going fuel injection with a proper mixture will do it
Totally cool 😎
BEAUTIFUL bronco
Also. I misread your name. Lol
Nice Ride!
Thanks man!! Check out the other videos & subscribe. I think you’ll enjoy the rat rod
Still a nice ride. Rebuilding mine now to solve all the issues you mention. Fuel smell issues are unacceptable. You can follow along on my channel.
My dream is to have one. Never will be able to afford it
Fixes for every single thing you mentioned in this video. Maybe try building one instead of buying one.

Its beautiful
🚘🚗 veryyyy veryy good !!
👍👍🖐👏👏
Thanks!!
Sounds like you have an exhaust leak
Nice bronco. I don t think this huy could change a tire
Increíble brol
I think it’s not really a bronco with out the front axles hooked up
Maybe you ought to by a honda. Or a subaru..
Boa tarde FIRST vai amém BOM trabalhos
Completely misses the point.
New cars with all their amenities, ruin the driving experience.
IMO
For a guy that has a classic Bronco you sure complain a lot .
I'm a complainer
I have restored several, I think you have a poorly done restoration.
You shouldn’t own a bronco
