Thank you mate, certainly been a lot of work but worth it. I feel so lucky to have such a lovely space to do my hobby from. My wife named it and they always know best.
Everything is just perfect. Feng shui? It gives an incredible aura, can’t imagine being there in person. We can also just simplify it into the perfect mancave!! Well done …
Hi Sheville, Great to hear from you and hope you are keeping well. There are lots of things for me to share and I am slowly getting on top of things so will finally have the time to release content more often. clear skies
Without your help and support it would not have been possible. I an sure I will spend many happy hours but not too many and you always have a seat reserved.
I was setting by the computer drinking some coffee and wondered how the Astrobloke's project was coming along? Well it is beautiful! 🥳 You do wonderful work and it is nicer than some homes. Some guys have to go to the dog-house to get away. Ha-Ha. You have a cool observatory-office. 🌟🌜 Thank you and best regards. Magnificent images.
Yes I finally completed the works although I seem to be constantly tweaking and adding to make it even better. I am more than pleased with the finished product and thank you for your kind words. I feel very lucky to have such lovely comfortable space to escape to and it really does work extremely well. Thanks again for watching and your support....clear skies
Hi Glenn nice to see you back mate, the obsy is looking great mate looking forward go seeing what your new equipment is, excellent images as usual mate,
Also, I just added the same mini travel router to my rig, off your recommendation, and it has vastly improved the stability of the Remote Desktop connection between my Mele imaging pc & my tablet!
Thank you mate, really appreciate the support and comments. That's great news on the router. They are perfect being so small and light and help loads with the signal. Clear skies
Wow, Glenn's astro man cave looks great. More important you have some great new images coming out of it. The Cat's Eye looks like a jewel - not sure I had ever seen that one in a photo. Take it easy.
Thank you Richard. The cave is such a lovely space and I feel so lucky. The Cat's eye nebula is a new target for me too and is quite striking. Thanks for your support, clear skies.
ok buddy... am officially jealous 😅 I am hopeful that someday I'll have one of those in my B5 house outside the city... in the meantime all my gear is up there and to be honest I miss my toys ... I'll have to get a second mount for my city apartment to have something to play with on clear nights.
Thank you Alex. Yes with something like this you can remote in when away and so never miss a clear night opportunity. A good portable set up with you though is a great idea. Nothing beats the hands on experience. clear skies
Looking great Glenn good to see you're getting some imaging done, I've been on the Helix every chance I get but I really think I'm flogging a dead horse lol. Clear skies mate!!
Hi Paul and thank you so much for your kind comments. I really do not like not being able to get content out but sometimes life just gets in the way. Really appreciate your support. clear skies.
Hi Bill and thank you for watching and commenting. Its funny you mention the Astrobus as I literally had a night out with it last week and I have a video to follow that I am currently putting together.
Absolutely astounding Glenn, I really like the way you have put a path around your obsy (sorry folks for looking at things that aren't astro!) Obsy looks fantastic, thanks for your help and support, I'm getting there!!
Thank you Jeremy, its great you are finally imaging. You’ve built a lovely obsy too. Thanks for appreciating the path, its those little touches. Clear skies mate
Well now my little Keter shed is feeling a bit left out!! 🤣 What an amazing construction, Glenn - truly inspirational. I hope you both are very much enjoying life in your new home. 😊
Well thank you very much, thats a very nice compliment. I have always been a keen DIYer but not a builder. Think that's why it took me almost 6 months lol. Thanks for watching and commenting
Oooh la la! Beautiful observatory!👍Or is it really a 'tiny home' for you? Or a party room? (I noticed your Kef/B&W speakers)😁p.s. Nice tan! I thought having a tan was against the law in the U.K.! 😉😁p.p.s. Amazing images! Obviously great data collected & impressive processing skills! 👍
Thank you Derek and lol re the tan. Unlike a lot of Brits I have good skin for tanning. Been working outside quite a bit on an extension and landscaping as well as adding the path so caught quite a bit of sun. Its a shame I cannot share my normal experience of imaging the night sky while chilling to some great tunes on my deck, B&W speakers. RUclips would remove the video due to copyright laws. Shame.
Jealous mate, truly drooling on yor setup lol. Welcome back. I'm currently wraping up a mosaic of the Triffid and Lagoon nebs. I didn't know about the bubble in that area. I can't find it in Stellarium tho....Any chance you could show it's desiginatation numbrer or RA / Dec? Thanks from Darwin Australia...
Thank you Chris. I do love my set up. I may have steered you badly with that image as its the Northern Lagoon. I forgot about your one sown there, its far nicer an image the one you have. I love the look of that Triffid as well
Hi Rob and thank you mate. I have been so busy lately I have not even been able to sit and support people like yourself but will spend some time and catch up on videos I have missed. Appreciate the support and clear skies to you too
Beautiful work Glen, that observatory is a real credit to you👍Lovely images as well, hope you're having better luck with the weather than we are up in Scotland.
Hi Pete and thank you for the kind comments. We have actually just had a good long spell of several nights following July which was basically nothing at all. lets hope it continues and I'll try and send some clear skies your way
Stunning obsy- that's a great achievement. Your image processing seems to have taken a big step forward too- some (really nice) unconventional takes on old favourites. Looking forward to hearing about that 😀
Hi Glenn, Wow, it looks like you are competing with the Heavenly Backyard Garden! NICE. The Astrobloke Village is looking very well. Love the landscaping. Those images are fantastic. How were you able to capture the Lagoon Nebula at your northern location? It must be extremely low in the southern sky. The Cat's Eye Nebula looks like a shiny gem in the sky. Did I see Simon helping you build that stepping stone entrance to the observatory?
Hi Pat. The garden is my lovely wifes creation, she works very hard at it and its looking amazing. I just get roped in for the heavy bits like digging and hedge cutting etc. I think its the Northern Lagoon which is close to the Bubble. I forgot there was a southern one oops, The other worker who helped me get it started was my Father-in-law, he has helped me a lot and I am very grateful to him.
Lovely set up that man! How did you calculate the scope room to take two mounts? I'm placing scopes, on two tripods, horizontally to measure the extreme distances of each, though being more orientated to solar and solar system imaging I'm guessing I can get away with a slightly smaller room than if I would be skewing in different directions simultaneously. I hope!
Thank you for watching and commenting. I made the room bigger than I needed but worked out the radius my largest set up needed to get an idea. It's surprising how small a space you can work in but I would recommend to go as large as you can, space around your rigs just makes life easier.
@Astrobloke Indeed, I agree. However I have now discovered my vision of an obsy is greater than my available area. Unless I spend a large amount convincing local council to allow a wee shed in one of my fields! Looks like I will be squeezed in with two mounts, and no attached 'warm/control' room. Extra mount or control room.....mm! Cheers Sir!
I want to do a roll off so bad but I have not seen anywhere how to make it weather tite. It looks like all your roof does it have an overlap but where I live that would have me waking up after a winter storm and finding 3 feet of fine snow inside the building!
Weather is your main consideration when building one and living in the South East of the UK meant I was able to keep the design simple and the main element here is rain. Its been years since we have had any snow that would be a concern. I have some deep brush bars I will be adding inside to increase the over hang depth. If I had your kind of climate I would firstly go with a pitched roof design and add rubber seals to give higher protection.
Thank you very much. It has turned out really well and I am extremely happy with it. My wife was responsible for the name plate and name. This would not have been possible without her help and support.
only just come across this, all i can say is wow. Only query i have is it doesnt seem "critter proof" with plenty of access and gaps for furry intruders. Have you made any additions to counter this?
Thank you. Critters are not really an issue here and anything getting in would be captured on camera, So after almost a year of completion nothing but my scopes and I are filling the space.
how do you remote controll this? via a own vpn server? and especially how do you control the camera? or do you use a home vpn and then remote desktop in a laptop that controls all taht stuff
Hi. All my rigs run on NINA and I remote into them on a secure private network via Google Remote desktop. I can even access and control it all from my iphone. All I need is a mobile signal or internet connection.
All I can say is mate you have built an Amateur Astronomers man cave that is second to none. Well done!
That's very kind of you to say. I do have to keep pinching myself, but yes its real and I am a lucky Astronomer indeed. clear skies
Wow I think naming this as a village is spot on, its gotta be the ultimate observatory. Congratulations 🎉 Glenn on an epic build.
Well done …
Thank you very much that is a big compliment. I am very happy with it and its a dream come true space.
Careful planning and hard work paid off resulting in one of the sharpest looking Observatories i've seen, Enjoy, Clear Sky's. Glenn.
Thank you very much. It was certainly a lot of hard work but worth every minute. I am over the moon with the results.
Hello from down under…glad to see you back, looking forward to seeing your new projects. Greetings from Tasmania Australia 👍🔭🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘
Hi Sheville, Great to hear from you and hope you are keeping well. There are lots of things for me to share and I am slowly getting on top of things so will finally have the time to release content more often. clear skies
I love this video - it's brilliant to see the finished obsy especially the drone footage. I'm sure you'll spend many happy hours in there!

I will. thank you for the support

Awesome job Glenn, nicely finished mate😀 A dream obsey and warm room/Studio! It will serve you well, great images too mate👍 Nice drone footage
Thank you Simon. Couldn’t have got there without your help and advice. Lets sort an image-coffee-vinyl night soon
That's a wonderful observatory and a real credit to your skills. Only wish I had a big enough garden to do something similar.
Thank you for watching and for the kind comment. I am lucky to have the space for one like this.
That's the smartest Astro man cave I have ever seen, well done
Thanks
Hi Glenn nice to see you back mate, the obsy is looking great mate looking forward go seeing what your new equipment is, excellent images as usual mate,
Hi Tony. Thank you for your always kind comments. Apologies for being so absent but life etc. Lots of new bits to talk about and share so stay tuned.
The Ultimate man cave... I'm a bit jealous :)
Fantastic shots.. my favs were the sadr region and cat's eye. CS!
Thank you James. The Cat’s eye is quite different and I really like it. My mate Simon has data on it too and we plan to combine it
Glen...your obsy is looking spectacular, as well as your latest images!
Clear skies

Mate this is exceptional. Best build I have seen and will plan to visit via one of your workshops in the future. Great work
Please do! Would be great to show someone and let them experience it too. Thank you for your support and comments.
Looking great Glenn good to see you're getting some imaging done, I've been on the Helix every chance I get but I really think I'm flogging a dead horse lol.
Clear skies mate!!
Thank you Tich. Not attempted that one yet. I am sure if you stick with it you’ll get a result
Glen that's the best looking observatory I've seen ; truly outstanding ! 👏 Some excellent images already and pleased to see you making content again 👍
Hi Paul and thank you so much for your kind comments. I really do not like not being able to get content out but sometimes life just gets in the way. Really appreciate your support. clear skies.
Great observatory that we would all like. I liked the drone shot.
Thank you Terry. I need to learn how to use a drone well but not a terrible start.
Such a smart build. Congratulations on a great build
Thank you so much
Very nice, hope the astrobus may still see some action. Great images, great build, hat off to you mate.
Hi Bill and thank you for watching and commenting. Its funny you mention the Astrobus as I literally had a night out with it last week and I have a video to follow that I am currently putting together.
Cracking job Glenn, looking so good. Don’t you just love them Newtonian diffraction spikes 👍
Thank you Mark. I do love them, even though Dylan tried to have a dig about them, bless him. I think he loves them too 🤣🤣
Very nice Glen. Subscribed and watching for updates.
Thank you. Just checked your channel and now subbed. Will take a look at your videos.
Absolutely astounding Glenn, I really like the way you have put a path around your obsy (sorry folks for looking at things that aren't astro!)
Obsy looks fantastic, thanks for your help and support, I'm getting there!!
Lol, my Keter is most probably hating me now as it was demoted to being a garden tool shed. Thank you for the kind comments mate
This doesn't look very amateur Glen, looks amazing.
Well thank you very much, thats a very nice compliment. I have always been a keen DIYer but not a builder. Think that's why it took me almost 6 months lol. Thanks for watching and commenting

Fantastic observatory, mate! Well done 👍
Many thanks!
Great observatory you've built. I hope your hard work yields happiness.
Hi William and thank you. So far it has yielded much joy and happiness. I am very lucky to have the space and support to do something like this.
Beautiful work Glen, that observatory is a real credit to you👍Lovely images as well, hope you're having better luck with the weather than we are up in Scotland.

A dream come true! Beautiful work as always Glen.
Many thanks! Really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment, clear skies.
Wow that is so impressive and those images as always top drawer
Thank you so much 😀
Absolutely amazing Glenn!! Fantastic work
Thank you Trevor. Hope you are enjoying your obsy too. You did a nice job on that
Thanks Trevor. Big project but loving the results. Its great having a home for your scopes hey?
Stunning obsy- that's a great achievement. Your image processing seems to have taken a big step forward too- some (really nice) unconventional takes on old favourites. Looking forward to hearing about that 😀
Thanks so much Rob. I am very happy with the obsy and I do think my new darker skies are helping my images a lot. Thanks for watching and clear skies
Finally, nice weather for you guys.
Thank you Woody. We had to wait a while but yes its been great lately
Great to see you back Glen, with a "putting all this to good use" video.
Hi Nugsy. Well I certainly need to use it after all the work. Thanks for dropping by mate

Well done! and inspiring for my own future build 😀
Thank you and I wish you luck with your build and of course some clear skies to go with it

@Astrobloke wrong choice of words on my part...i really meant things like rates/mice etc but i get where your coming from :
Great video Glann great to see you mate
Thank you Steve. Hope to be a bit more regular now
Superb👍
Thank you
which printer do you use to printout your photos ?
Only just got it. Its a Canon IP8750
Ultimate man’s cave
It certainly is. Well it was what I aimed for. Thank you for watching, glad you like it
S.P.L.E.N.D.I.D.!!! (I’m just a jealous guy…)
Thank you thats kind of you.
