    Very nice! One advantage to having several bases per unit is to make it easier to denote a unit marching in a column formation

      True, but in all the games ive played, i dont think ive ever used them in anything other than a battleline, but a good point, if i were to run an ambush of off table reserves marching to the front, it would be useful.

    Lovely work mate. Camp looks brilliant.
    As for rebasing, I think I’d keep the bill and bow separate for flexibility, plus other rules. Maybe just make movement trays. That should help protect the bill a bit.
    Have you thought about over basing the old ones. Scrape off what you can then over base with your new method.? Maybe try a base to see.?

    Really nice looking collection mate. I particularly like the camp, it’s really effective. 👍

    Nice collection and they look great on those bases. The camp also fits in well and adds a nice scene to the table.

    Very nice army you have there! I do my Hail Caesar armies on 3 60mm bases to a unit as well. I think it looks good and 180mm frontage is a good compromise between good looking and working reasonably well on the size of table top most of us have to play on.

      I think you are right. Yet to try it out though....

    They are very cool. Doing the same thing for 6mm has also crossed my mind several times.

    I agree with leont66 comment about using movement bases. I use them for my 10mm acw armies. I can also re-use them in games using my future 10mm ECW infantry.

    Totally awesome. Every time I see your armies I become very jealous.

    The miniatures look really good, well done!
    As to basing I would be inclined to leave them on the existing bases so you can easily use them with other rules should you decide to try something else at some point.

    Very nice. I would be tempted to stay with the basing you have. It is very flexible ….. for life after Hail caesar et al and should be fairly proof against warping. Also, it is quite hard to rebase 6mm without causing casualties along the way.
    I have WotR forces and have been using Sword & Spear, followed more recently by Billhooks ….. but you post has me going to HC II book, to have a good look at them … thanks!

      sword and spear is a game i have, and may well have another look at too.

    looks great , love the camp ! :) can i ask what size are the bases youre using now ? ... and would they be same if you used 28mm ? ...for what its worth i like the flexibility !

    • @stigofthedump181
      @stigofthedump181  Год назад +1

      They are 60mm x 30mm, the same as my 28mm stuff, instead of 4-6 figs, I have 24-36 instead, but same footprint as the bigger scales.

    Fantastic job. I too would leave them on the separate bases. ;)

    Based my ancient Indian units on single bases which are good for To the Strongest, certainly recommend that approach. Great vid, I feel the need to tip you!

      @stigofthedump181  Год назад

      I'm sorely tempted to do it, (rebase not set up a patreon) your 15mm ancients look great on the big bases. 👍

    Wry nice. I am working through 6mm WotR #IBLAMEMARTIN. I am basing mine as singe base units on BigRedBats 10cm frontage bases. I really do like the affect but yours look great too. Rebasing would be a massive pain but the look is good.

    Great looking army, I'm still working on my Yorkist army. As for re basing I'd leave as is then, like you say it gives you more flexibility.

  • @abitgamey9745

    I stick to multiple bases for columns marching but that is less relevant for ancients/medievals
    - diorama basing does look good but OCD keeps me from that so 50/50

    WotR is one of the many items on my to do list. I'm currently weighing up which direction to take for my first venture into 6mm since the days of Epic (think Epic was 6mm). Your army looks fantastic. How do you find the rule set you've selected?

    Nice miniatures - but they should be in messier groups. I really doubt they could dress files.

    • @stigofthedump181
      @stigofthedump181  6 месяцев назад

      Your probably correct, the more recent bases are in kind of clumps, many of my older ones are more regimented. It's hard to judge really as we simply don't know exactly how they formed up.
      Cheers for watching.
