  • In this video, I spend the night camping on the ice at Flaming Gorge Reservoir in pursuit of burbot and lake trout, two species that have somehow eluded me for many years.

I just got into ice fishin this year and although I have zero clue what I'm doing and haven't really caught much, I'm still having a blast. I hope i can get up to Flaming Gorge by the end of the season. Being from Kentucky, we don't ice fish lol, so I still get nervous on it. Great video man. Stay safe out there.

It was so windy at first and that's what was necessary to keep the tent down!

@@gerrardasdoesburg8456 this was filmed the day it was posted.( 2 days ago) We fished up by the confluence on the Wyoming side. I would say the most important thing to catch Burbot is to have some sort of cut bait on whatever jig or spoon you decide to use. Also using baits that glow is very important. Burbot become active as the sun goes down. I wouldn't bother trying for them in the daytime at all. Good luck!

Me to! We are going to fire hole!! The burbs need glow spoons, heavy ones tippedwith worm or shrimp add uv crawdad smelly gelly
